The Seattle Sounders take on Real Salt lake in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals on Oct. 23 at 10 pm ET at CenturyLink Field.
This could have been a 6-0 game for Seattle. Rimando kept saving because he figured out they were constantly shooting to the center of the goal. Not taking away from his great performance as a goalie but that's what made him great. Even though his team lost, Seattle didn't start shooting away from the center until well after the first goal. Not to mention the countless kicks over the post and players wanting to show off with goals when they could have passed the ball to someone open, even if they were further from the box.
@@bernaa845 yeah, generally Centerbacks and Goalkeepers are over 6'0 because they need to be good in the air, take up lots of space to block shots, and for goal keepers to increase their reach when they dive for shots.
Tornike Mefarishvili As a goalkeeper, I can tell you height is very important. There is a reason why, on average, all of the famous keepers are above 6 ft. Without the height, everything becomes very harder: claiming crosses, making upper 90s saves, low dives and even one on one. I have seem plenty of good keeper got cut because of their heights (granted they are shorter than / as tall as Nick). Regardless of what you think, Nick Rimamdo had an amazing career and adding the fact that he did it while being 5’10, it’s something people always overlooked.
At 10:06 I was talking to my dad and said that it is a lot harder to score from a corner than it looks. We were watching live and right when I said it, they scored. Anyway GO SOUNDERS💚💙
The MLS highlights didn't dp a good job of catching what happened exactly, but Everton Luis came in with two feet, spikes exposed, and pretty much slammed into Gustav Svennson"s foot. That is a red card because it is endangering the safety of another player because Luis is trying to injure Svennson and not play the ball.
Cascades to Seattle he wasn’t intentionally trying to injure. If he was a second earlier, he wins the tackle and the sounders player is late and studs up. Bad tackle so yes red, but everyone blew this out of proportion

Nick Rimando is like 40. He played 20 years in MLS. Made a World Cup roster in 2014, as well. He could still start for RSL this season, if he wanted, but I think he feels it’s the right time to retire. RSL has a fantastic young goalkeeper coming up through their academy named David Ochoa who is ready to take his place.
Yo entido pero no manches ni pareciera portero profecional está con mucho sobre peso cada ves que disque se abienta por la pelota se lástima porque no puede o no sabe o le cuesta aventarse o no es cierto amigo
Extremely bad tackle. Wasn't even going for the ball. Last time I saw a tackle like that it brock both bones in a player's leg, pretty much ended that players career.
@@k040034 Svensson got to the ball first, but even if Luis WASN'T late, it's still a flying two-footed tackle with studs exposed. EVEN IF if he got the ball first, that wouldn't mean it's not a foul, or SFP.
@@k040034 dude pretty much any time you go into a slide, a tackle with studs exposed your asking for a red. Plan and simple, ESPECIALLY if your teams losing the game. Michael Dunn they’ll still suck if I don’t watch so that’s not the answer. He’s still right. You’re not denying that. Sometimes you go back to a local restaurant to see if the food got better. Jackass
@@tvojslauf You are correct that I'm not denying it. Sure you'll go to a restaurant to see if it got better. 15 mins of garbage. These are the highlights? I’ve seen better high school games. Second goal was nice and that’s about it. The rest looked like Sunday league. How embarrassing.
ColdButSpicy So you agree it’s garbage and you’re just giving excuses? 25 yrs is just starting out? Soccer has been around in the U.S. two or three times longer than that even. I don’t have to do better, I’m not the one representing American soccer.
Not a RSL fan, but thank you Nick Rimando!!
Congrats to Rimaldo for an amazing career
Joel Dube so classy of the sounders supporters to give him a standing ovation.
@@jgeorge2693 After the performance he gave during that match, how could we not? Lights out, all night.
great game by Rimando! Gunna miss his performances!
MLS better rename their goal keeper award after Rimando

Yeah, best keeper play I've seen in a while
Seriously man is old and short and hes making a lot of saves in the mls and did not win the goalkeeper award...Give rimando the award
Whats His Height to DO with His ability? Football is played with ur head. Ur Body is just tools
