I've read the book and watched the film. No real gay romance involved. Matt Damon's character Tom Ripley has a crush on Dickie Greenleaf (played by Jude Law) but it is not reciprocated. It is all very sad and cringey.

COME ON PEOPLE...This is not Asia and even though this might be a BL, lets not do any shipping over here. Leave that to Asia, and, no, I am not putting them down at all. They have far better BLs then we have because they are softer, kinder and gentler people. But, they also get carried away with the lies the actors and production teams feed them to make more money. Victor and Benji are fictional characters that are acted by two great and straight actors. The other thing we don't do here is see a straight actor become gay....no such thing. So lets not get crazy. I do, however, prefer the Asian BLs much more.
