  • Maroon 5, an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California, originally formed as Kara's Flowers in 1994 by high school friends Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and Ryan Dusick. After an unsuccessful debut album, "The Fourth World," they rebranded to Maroon 5 in 2001, adding James Valentine to their lineup. Their breakthrough came with "Songs About Jane" in 2002, featuring hits like "Harder to Breathe" and "This Love," catapulting them to fame and earning a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2005. Despite lineup changes, including the departure and return of Carmichael and the addition of PJ Morton and Sam Farrar, Maroon 5 has maintained their success with albums like "It Won't Be Soon Before Long," "Overexposed," and "V." Hits such as "Moves Like Jagger," "Sugar," and "Girls Like You" have solidified their status in the music world. By 2021, they released their seventh album, "Jordi," and have sold over 135 million records worldwide, with "Moves Like Jagger" becoming the second most downloaded song of all time by January 2023.
