    I was on Hollywood Blvd. for the Pain & Gain premiere. The Rock wasn't there but Marky Mark was the only person that came across the street and shook hands with everyone. Pretty cool of him to do that. My guilty pleasure is Good Luck Chuck. I was probably the only person to buy it on Blu Ray. 🙂

      I love Pain and Gain, one of Michael Bay’s best films. Bay gets a lot of hate, but I tend to be very entertained by practically anything he directs. Ambulance and 13 Hours are also very good.

    A lot of films others consider bad I thoroughly enjoy and even consider better than other films in a franchise. Battlefield Earth, Star Trek V, Aliens 3, The Doomsday Machine, and countless parody films (one of my favorite genres.) I recently imported a German Blu-ray of The Walking Deceased, it not only is a parody the TV show but many other contemporary horror films.

      My favorite Michael Bay flick is Bad Boys 2. A good movie? No. A fantastic 4K? Yes. The film is loud and stupid, but I saw it when I was in high school and couldn't believe what I saw. The film features a sex scene involving two rats. My young mind was blown.

    Ah those guilty pleasures! My number one is CALIGULA (1979), renowned for its badness (in more ways than one), but definitely a great watch-party movie. In the same vein, I also recommend THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL (1976) with its songs to remember! No bad-movie list is complete without VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1967) and it's delightfully disturbing sequel, BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1970). Then there's Russ Meyer's mean-spirited drive-in classic FASTER PUSSYCAT, KILL! KILL!, (1965) a genuine exploitation extravaganza that's in a class by itself. The Paul Verhoeven clunker, SHOWGIRLS (1995), is dreadfully good.

    I love Tammy & The T-Rex, it was one of the first movies I bought from Vinegar Syndrome.
    The behind the scenes special features are great on that VS release. I love the story of how it got made; how the producer approached the director and said I’ve got a animatronic T-Rex for a month, let’s make a movie. And the director said ok, do you have a script? And the producer said no, that’s what I came to you for. So Tammy & The T-Rex was written and shot in a month. And, under those circumstances, I think it’s pretty good; it’s a lot of fun, it’s well paced, and it’s got some really good funny performances, including Denise Richards, who at least in some scenes seems like she’s take the material seriously, which makes it even funnier.
    When I’m watching a movie and I get the feeling that the filmmakers put real passion and effort into making the best movie they could make under the circumstances and with limited means, and even if the end result isn’t good, I call that a success

    • @TheOriginalFuzz
      @TheOriginalFuzz  Před 18 dny +1

      I don't think I watched any of the special features on my Tammy & the T-Rex disc yet, but the way you describe them sounds fascinating. I may have to pop that one in and give it another watch, then check out the bonus stuff... I love making-of or retrospective stuff like that. That kind of thing always helps me to appreciate the film even more.

Loved seeing American Ninja and Ninja 3 on your list. Couldn't agree more. Napoleon Dynamite and the Bill and Ted Movies are my guilty pleasures. Looking forward to the Bill and Ted 4k collection. Have heard Napoleon Dynamite may get one too. Have never seen The Resident Evil movies. I was into the Underworld franchise. I am more of a Vampire fan. Could definitely watch another one of these videos. Btw, have you ever seen Jiu jitsu with Nicholas Cage?

I don't think I've ever seen Napoleon Dynamite, but I've heard it's a funny film. The Resident Evil movies are fun, but they do get a little redundant after the first couple installments. I've never seen the Nic Cage movie you mentioned, but I just looked it up and it looks interesting. I may have to check that one out. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend! "Lifeforce" and "Ninja III" get my vote (I have them both on blu-ray) 🙂👍I didn't mind the first "Resident Evil" movie at all, I might need to get hold of that and revisit it...but the director (Paul W.S. Anderson) did two movies that I really did like, "Event Horizon" which I have on 4K and is generally well thought of and "Soldier" with Kurt Russell which doesn't get great reviews but I like quite a bit myself (I have the Blu-ray of that one).

    • @TheOriginalFuzz
      @TheOriginalFuzz  Před 19 dny +1

      Oh yeah Event Horizon is killer... that may even make my sequel video to my Top 25, because that one is up there pretty high for me, in terms of favorites. i think it's Anderson's best. There are like 6 Resident Evil movies (and I think Anderson directed most of them, but not all -- or at least was involved in the writing and production), but the first RE film is the best. Fun little mashup of action and horror (and later on in the series, even kind of sci-fi). And yeah, gotta love Ninja III and Lifeforce... both are so much fun! Thanks for chiming in and watching!

  • @waynebeamer

    Hey Fuzz: Two films on your Guilty list are among my favs.
    1. LIFEFORCE FTW! A NUDE space vampire plus pre-Captain Picard/Sir Patrick Stewart in an 80s version of a Brit Dr. Quatermass film. It’s truly bonkers, and the NUDE space vampire does make Lifeforce a fun watch.
    2. Matrix 4/Resurrections truly is a good film. Lana W did a great job with it, and I saw it twice in a movie theater, literally all by myself. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next for the Matrix universe, because you don’t need Keanu Reeves or Carrie Ann Moss to make a cool film.
    Now, I’ve gotta find that Rock/Marky Mark team up film! Great video! Thanks! Wayne

      Yeah I'm right there with ya man! I'm fascinated by the whole mythology and story... the subtext, commentary and fundamental human issues it raises. I couldn't imagine only caring about the first 25 percent of the story and not at least appreciating some elements of where the story goes from there. I saw Resurrections in the theater with my son on opening day, and we both really enjoyed it. In fact, I was totally surprised to find after the fact that so many people didn't appreciate the movie. As soon as it was over, I looked forward to having it on physical media so that I could watch it again and pick up on the things I might've missed first viewing.

    Eddie/Cruisers? Ya, I got lotsa fun from this back in the day, since my name is also Eddie.
    But I do recall it getting many pans because music fans thought it was too close to ripping off Bruce Springsteen and his band.

    • @TheOriginalFuzz
      @TheOriginalFuzz  Před 19 dny

      Oh yeah, that's a totally valid criticism. John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band DID come off as a Springsteen rip-off, and that's probably why they never really took off after that. They pigeon-holed themselves a bit. I'm guessing their record company/management/agent might've pushed them to lean into the Springsteen-vibe more, since Bruce was on fire back then. And it's possible that's the thing they were going for with Eddie Wilson's character to begin with... making him more of a Springsteen-like figure. But yeah, I had a lot of fun with the sequel when it first came out. And i remember watching the first movie on on TV multiple times, as we had cable and both films used to play on repeat on HBO/Showtime, etc. Thanks for watching and chiming in!

    @robsavage3217 Před 17 dny +1

    I'm not sure if this counts as it was originally shot for TV but got a theatrical run after NBC refused to air it.
    The movie (?) is Mr. Mike's Mondo Video, starring humor writer/performer Michael O'Donoghue and various cast members from Saturday Night Live. I know it's bad. But I've always been a big fan of O'Donoghue's dark humor and I get a kick out of Mondo Video.
    Another favorite is the 1974 sex comedy Flesh Gordon. I do plan next month to get the standard edition of the new two-disc Blu-ray release from Turbine Media in Germany.

    Another one I’d add is Island of Death. Holy cow that damn film is so so ridiculous and bad - yet good with some good twists near the end. Basically a couple is on an island having sex with each other and then others too but then kills them for a their evil deeds. It’s just gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on…so bad…yet so good!

    Hangar 18 - it's strange, but I think this film was running in Soviet Unions's cinemas. (I'm from Estonia, then part of Soviet Union.) Don't think I saw it as a child, but I have no other reason to know this name...
    The selection of USA films shown in USSR was very small and eclectic, and without any logic. I remember Kramer vs. Kramer, Three Days of the Condor, Stunts, The Stunt Man... Convoy... The Deep? Some of them probably heavily censored.
    (PS: and The Sound of Music, which was massive hit.)

      Wow! Thank you for sharing this with me. I find this to be very fascinating (my background -- in my previous life -- was in political science and Cold War history). Three Days of the Condor just happens to be one of my favorite Robert Redford films. I even own it on 4K. Although I agree... I'm sure many films shown in the USSR probably were censored significantly. But at least you got a few good ones in there! I also own The Deep on blu-ray, and I remember watching both Kramer and Convoy when I was a kid. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    • @Ivarls
      @Ivarls Před 19 dny

      It has been actually interesting to try to track down some of the childhood movies from the Soviet Union era, because foreign films were dubbed to Russian (with subtitles in my language) with the localized name, which could have been something completely different. For example, I remember, somewhere at the beginning of this century and DVD era, trying to figure out the real name on the Indian blockbuster called in USSR "Revenge and Law", which made some shocking imprints to the young mind... :D Turned out, the real name is "Sholay" (1975) and it is maybe the most legendary Indian film, even influenced by Sergio Leone. With singing... :D Got the DVD from India.
      One recent example is a US Blu-ray from Deaf Crocodile - Hungarian animated movie "Cat City", which I also saw in Soviet Union as "Cat Trap". Another case of nostalgy as a reason to buy some Bly-rays... :)
      Addition to the movies I mentioned - my partner, who was born in 1977 just told about some films she or her brothers saw as a child in Soviet Union cinemas - it was before hardcore perestroika - Neverending Story, Enemy Mine, Tootsie, King Kong 1976, The Journey of Natty Gann (I didn't know this one), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, La Grande Vadrouille...
      Threre was more foreign films from India or France-Italy (with Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jean Marais, Pierre Richard) or westerns from East (Gojko Mitic) or West (Winnetou) Germany than films from US/UK.
      PS: for people in Northern Estonia the bigger influence than cinema was Finnish television with USA and UK films and series from Johnny Weissmüller's Tarzans to Dallas and Knight Rider. :)

Breen is an unintentional comedic genius. His movies are baffling and ridiculous, and the fact that they take themselves so seriously makes them even funnier. My son and I saw it in the theater and we had a really fun time with it. It's another one of those where I was kind of surprised after the fact to find that so many Halloween fans didn't like it, especially with how many fans had warmed up to Halloween III over the years. And I have at least a few other friends here on CZcams who feel the same way or have expressed similar sentiments. For that matter, I think H3 is one of the best stand-alone horror films out there in general (setting the Halloween franchise completely aside). I think it absolutely holds up as a stand-alone horror film... once you get past the fact that it's not a Michael Myers film. Oh and the Scream Factory 4k looks outstanding to boot. Blackhat should not be on your sh*t list, it's an excellent movie. Never heard of most of your other movies. Some guilty pleasures of mine:
    Timebomb: not a bomb at all, should be better known.
    The Crimson Rivers: Jean Reno & Vincent Cassel together, enuff said. Avoid the sequel.
    The Taking Of Beverly Hills: directed by the great Sidney J. Furie (look him up) & starring Ken Wahl.
    Cutter's Way: Jeff Bridges, John Heard & Lisa Eichhorn present an acting master class.
    Under Fire: in the style of an Oliver Stone movie but even better. Nolte, Hackman & Joanna Cassidy dance around one another.
    Crisscross: Goldie Hawn is totally under appreciated, she acted her heart out in this movie.
    That's five MGM movies & one French, when the French were making great movies, now it's Spain.
    Enjoy!

      Well it's not a shit list... that's not exactly what I was going for here. But I will admit I was kind of on the fence about including Blackhat -- because I agree... it's a good movie. I really enjoyed it. So if any title was a little iffy for this list, you're right it's probably Blackhat. But, I figured it got a lot of criticism, so I could probably get away with including it. And that's also why I put the disclaimer at the beginning of the video.
      i don't think I've seen any of the titles you mentioned, but I am interested in checking out Under Fire. The cast sounds killer! I may have to hunt that one down. Thanks for the tip! And thanks for watching and commenting! Appreciate it!

    I personally don't believe in guilty pleasure movies. Why would you feel guilty for liking something? That's such a waste of life right? For me, if a movie is entertaining, it's a good movie. Others might not think it's a good movie and that's fine. I don't happen to like The Godfather. It's not a bad movie, I just don't like it. I like Mannequin 2: On the move. Most people probably don't like that movie but that doesn't make it a bad movie. I guess I'm weird or something because I just don't understand this guilty pleasure thing. Everyone is entertained by different types of movies. Never feel guilty about things you love

    • @TheOriginalFuzz
      @TheOriginalFuzz  Před 16 dny

      I wouldn't read too much into the "guilty pleasures" designation... it's just a figure of speech, a form of shorthand to describe movies that many people think are bad movies. It wasn't meant to be taken literally... meaning, I don't actually feel "guilty" about anything I like (nor do I think most people who use this term -- again, it's just a common figure of speech). Of course it's all subjective, and the video was meant in a light-hearted way (as I indicated at the beginning of the video). Sounds like you fundamentally disagree with the topic of this particular video... because I wouldn't even have a video at all here if I were to follow your thinking on this.

      @@TheOriginalFuzz I just don't like the kind of thinking that most people seem to have about movies having to be boring Oscar worthy films in order for a movie to be good. Didn't mean to offend you but I've personally been looked down upon and talked down to because of the kinds of films I happen to enjoy. I wasn't saying you personally felt guilty about these films but some people do. Some people actually feel bad that they like movies like Troll or Frogs and they are embarrassed to admit what they like. I just mostly hate that phrase guilty pleasure because it implies that these movies are lesser or that we should feel bad for loving these movies. It's something the normies put on us weirdos and I hate it

      I thought Matrix 4 was fun and enjoyable. So did my son. We saw it in a Dolby digital cinema theater on opening day, and we had an absolute blast with it... to the point where we were actually a little surprised to see all the negative reviews after the fact. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Thanks for watching.
