    A rain forest is characterized by receiving 1750-2000mm or 68 to 78inches of rain annually. I live in canada in the second largest rain forest in the world and it is currently -5 c outside. It is not just a rainy forest. and does not need to be tropical. Look it up on wikipedia or whatever internet search you prefer and do a little reading. There are multiple classifications. one being a tropical rain forest 2 being a temperate rainforest. So yes canada has a rainforest.

    Hi sasobek !
    Nice videos of my favorite geckos genus.
    But don't make a mistake, there is a striped form of G. kuroiwae in northern okinawa too.
    So it's not a sure sign that they are from southern Okinawa, unless you know the exact location their origin.

    thank you Goniurosaurus, I did not know that. The only thing I have found on them was what I said in the video. but i by no means am an expert on Gonios. just learning as much as i can.

    When i think of pets like these the debate is that their habitat is often in trouble and to have specialist or hobbyists breedingthem can be crucial. We never hear about species bordering extinction that are being bred by hobbyist who are the key often to their survival. With all the online information pet hobbyists are able to really work with the animals successfully. Even in the green movement and the controversial pet trade. Nobody spending that kinda money without the know how.

    Im not trying to be argumentative but to say its cooler than an actual rain forest is not entirely correct. Canada has one of the biggest rain forests in the world. It is not tropical at all but is still 100% considered a rain forest. Even i hear the term and think of a tropical paradise filled with cool reptiles and monkeys and well...rain. But the description is a rain forest, and thats exactly it, a forest with lots of rain. Being tropical is not a pre-requisite of a rain forest.

  • @seawildearth

    Massively endangered, they should not be traded or captive. Leave them wild!

    • @LemonLoverCockatiel
      @LemonLoverCockatiel Před 9 lety +10

      seawildearth Actually, breeding them would be better for the species. Just saying...

    • @seawildearth
      @seawildearth Před 9 lety

      Are they bred for wild reintroduction or for fun and cuddles on social media profile pics? Two very different scenarios. Just saying.

    • @bagy999
      @bagy999 Před 9 lety +6

      pixelhobo photography and keeping them out of danger and preserving their lives is also another, more logical solution. "Jizz saiyan"

    • @seawildearth
      @seawildearth Před 9 lety

      ***** just leave them in the wild. Why do you feel you need to own something who's rightful place is in the wild?

    • @bagy999
      @bagy999 Před 9 lety +7

      pixelhobo photography Maybe because it'll die off completely and we won't have the amazing creature anymore you dip shit. You say own, i say protect, it's a matter of perspective and if you truly think they'll do just dandy in the wild then why are there so rare? Oh that's right, they die, either as pray from animals or humans. So i'll "own" them if i want.
