I’m a 38 yr old carpenter, my father inlaw is a farmer and I’ve been helping him out around the farm since me and the missus got together 21 years ago. I would love to give up the carpentry and work full time on the farm but unfortunately it’s not viable. I still find any excuse to get involved. Finding myself doing more every year. Highlight this year has been driving a mf7718 baling and tedding. Loved it. 👍🏻

Still went to work for him, we do a lot of drilling and also have a big composting plant for making greenwast compost and biomass. Have our own peterson chipper wich we do allot of custom work with asswel. During the year i also work for a contractor during grass and maize season as my hart always was with the silage work. Absolutly love my job. By the way I am from the Netherlands

I was brought up at Eltonhead and couldn’t wait to leave school and start work on our farm, at that point I moved down to our other farm in Shropshire where we had a proper mixed farm, we milked around a hundred cows, reared the beef calves to fat and grew grass, sugar beet, wheat and barley until life changed at forty and I went into the engineering business in the egg industry. Now self employed working on MOBA equipment in Ireland.

Wanted to work on my uncles farm when I was a lad and I'd grown up or become a digger driver but he sold the farm when I'd left school so when working on building site driving forklifts and then onto driving diggers and I'm nearly 40 and still driving diggers still wishing I was on the farms doing combining but never mind just watch your brilliant videos instead 👍

I wanted to be a farmer, was advised to go into forestry, became a surveyor, first of all land, then migrated to building/valuations … ! Plus a bit of ‘stunt’ driving (Top Gear Live etc) last worked in an office in 1980. Drove 7.5 ton trucks in the 2008 financial crisis … PS left school with 5 O levels … Uni is not essential

Wanted be a farmer ended up in ground works . site manager now but still get on the machines when I get a chance . Tractor driving didn’t pay as well as driving machines on site so that was that . Maybe one day I can afford to make the switch

90% today. The dream job when I was a child would of been a fast jet pilot but I chose to be a joiner instead.
