Speckled Trout on My Skinny Water Boat Florida

- Back up the coast to the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge in Florida in search of Speckled Trout while Flipping several Mirrodines in different colors. Had a good day running around the Refuge and searching the deep creek holes. I also upgraded the Back Deck in Width(12") on my Skinny Water Tunnel Hull to allow me more standing room to till while navigating and to fish....Enjoy the ride around the Refuge....Sea Ya!!
Great modification on the skinny water boat. I have always been impressed with that setup. Your a man that knows how to use the right tools. Your knowledge of saltwater fishing helps all of us.

Hank I've managed to side step the pit for a long time and I don't like to say never when it comes to injuries because I've had my share both inshore and offshore....LOL!! The skinny has been a work in progress even after 20 years....When I step on board though all the stuff that I can possibly need are within reach....My way of thinking there's no such thing as too much Stuff....LOL!! Back at you Hank on the knowledge/compliment....You've proven time and again that your knowledge of the inland waterway in a heavily congested area is still able to produce some amazing results....Enjoy your weekend!!

R & J BASS FISHING & TRAVEL....Thanks!! The Trout bite has been decent but the tides this year have been terrible.....No water!! Can't remember the last time the winter tides during the day have been so extremely low!! It use to be you could run the refuge sitting down but with all the Mangrove growth being as high as 12 ft. I have to stand on the back deck just to see where I'm running in the back country!! Have a great weekend!!

I really enjoy trying to navigate all the narrow creeks in the Refuge because there is so much change in some places it's easy to make the wrong turn especially as the Mangroves grow higher!! Specks are similar to the freshwater species with a very soft skin....They are excellent table fare....Glad you stopped by!!

When winter hits down here Mr. Speck heads to the back country Spring Fed creeks and I'm chasing them until they head offshore in the spring!!
I love that the water is usually always clear there and the seagrass on the bottom makes the water glow green and reds

Randolph Relic Recovery....Thanks!! The Trout bite has been pretty good but the fish are reel scattered this year!! When I decided on the design I decided to use everything at my disposal and 5200 is almost impossible to get off anything and I didn't want any future repairs!!
@@WesLovelace there is an adhesive out now that will bond king starboard to metal, wood, fiberglass or itself ! That ought to open up some new applications now that you don't have to mechanically fasten it.
@@RandolphRelicRecovery I'll have to check that out....The last time I tried to remove the stuff on my center console I came close to removing the gel coat....That's some tough stuff....LOL!!

In the winter the skinny water gets Crystal so you really have to have some distance or depth to keep from spooking the fish...Running in the Skinny Clear water is a trip this time of year...The bottom looks like it's going to snatch your lower unit off....LOL!!

I've been using 5 different colored Dines since they came out and those suspenders are one of my favorite plastics to flip when the waters cool around here....Hopefully the Specks will hang around a couple more months!!

Nice mod to the boat. Some quality trout in that big creek. I found the bigguns biting on Pine Island Sound a couple days ago as well.

Sportsman 101....Thanks!! I live on the coast and the Refuge is only accessible by boat plus it's just 15 minutes away....It's hard to haul the boat elsewhere when this resource is right in my backyard...Appreciate the support & comment....Have a great weekend!!
Unless this cold snap brings them back in, the trout have officially left my canal. Looks like I’m gonna have to actually hunt them down. That was a nice healthy trout 👍🎣 Sometimes you have to get through 100 dink’s to get the donk
Mud Duck Fishing....Thanks!! So far this winter we haven't had cold enough weather for a fish kill and because our rivers and creeks around here are Spring Fed with a constant water temp of 72.3 degrees anf the Gulf is 67 degrees the Trout are hanging tight to the back country....Hopefully they will hang for a couple more months!! I've been watching the weather in NC & VA....Brutal....just no way I could live in that weather again!! The fish have no where to go except deep when it's that cold....Good luck!!
