On vacation from my job running Beachbody.com... A gust hits and I am strapped to a massive kite without a tail. (The landing is more painful than it looks.)

I have been in physical therapy for almost a year... it has been brutal.
40 feet? more like 15.... 40 feet is a four story building... nice try though...

That was soooooooooo lucky. I know lots of cheaper ways to make myself hurt. Normal tubing is to much painful for me.

It was worse than it looks actually. I even feel stupid for how hard it was to walk for a week after the crash. My legs hit first in the very back of the tube, and the rest of my body sort of folded like an accordian. Anyway, I am pretty much back.

I don't think you've been on one in a real gust. I loved being on the thing, it was the impact that ruined it for me... even then I I really wanted to get on it again. But at the end of the day, the risk and pain was just not worth it to me. But if you want continue using yours, nobody has to stop you, enojoy!

One time i fell a little higher than u but the tube flipped in mid air, and i let go upside down, and i remember me thinking to myself ''im fucked....yup im fucked....'' and then i hit the water in a belly flop. it didn't hurt that much but still i would not want to do that again

Now wouldn't it make more sense for that tube to have 2 ropes where it attaches on the edges, then it wouldn't flip around like that, hmmm....

it says on the tubes use at own risk, and you it says that you should be trained professional if you go over 10 feet...

i did a bail just like this when we still had our kite tube let me tell you it hurts... but you shouldnt be tying the rope to a wake board tower while kite tubing... thats just common sense

Yea... thats horrible for your tower.... its not made to pull something like that... its made for wakeboarders to get more pop off the wake. we use to do that too.... but after a day it make the tower all shaky.... and we could never fix it all the way.

The thing they don't tell you is that a gust of wind can take you up over 10 feet before you have the ability to slow the boat down. Stupid is getting back on it once you learn it doesn't work... we sent the kite tube back instead.
They are illegal and have been for a while, so don't look forward to buying one any time soon people!
idiot driver is supposed to pull back on the throttle when someone gets this high, thats why these things are illegal now

I've watched a number of videos of these 'kite tubes' crashing and it is obvious that their 'developers' had no knowledge of basic aerodynamic stability. These things are 'dutch rolling' - they need a tail! Hope you got a good lawyer!
