    So true that the only one we can change is ours

    • @ResourceTalks
      @ResourceTalks Před 6 lety +2

      But you shouldn't really change your personality, the word 'persona' literally means 'mask' so it's just what others see, deep down in yourself you should always stay yourself, even if people don't like you, they'll appreciate you more if you are being honest about who/what you really are.

    • @AeternaQueen
      @AeternaQueen Před 6 lety +1

      Or go find people we are compatible with. I too agree that im not also with the only person we can change is us. Sometimes you shouldnt change yourself to please others. Plus I think there are times you can influence others to improve themselves as well.

  • @ResourceTalks
    @ResourceTalks Před 6 lety +6

    A persona (plural personae or personas), in the word's everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. The word is derived from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask. (- Wikipedia) So what that actually means is that the 'personality' that people see is actually just a mask, a role that you're playing, a face that you want others to see, and it's true that we can only change our 'persona' (mask) but deep down we always stay the same.

    Here's a good one to add, stubborn. Instead of being receptive and fluid, the stubborn personality ignores new information or ideas just to defend their own convictions typically out of pride. Waste of time trying to reiterate and explain things to these people constantly

    "To all the sensitive people, skip this exercise" forced a laugh out of my belly on that one.
    Already started assembling a mental list of the people of like to have fill this out for me.
    Love the comment about those who don't want to improve. I've made the same decision. For the worker bees, don't wanna read? Fine don't but they'll never take not one step up. If you take even one step up you will be reading a minimum of 12 books a year. Myself I want to get to 52 books a year. If they don't want to I'm sure there's another company that will fit them better, but it sure as hell isn't with me. Absolutely can't stand people that a) know it all b) refuse to grow.
    I know I have a few of these. Once upon a time I was unteachable, now you need to be able to explain to me why your way is better. Long ago I was even too sensitive and didn't take criticism well, I'm still competitive as ever but I try to stay out of it. The guys were talking about all the hits they've gotten in their sports and I've been really working to not start sentences with "I" (quickly becoming one of my most hated words ever) finally they turned to me and I just say "I used to play basketball, soccer and baseball but what I really like is fighting. Started learning to box at 5 years old. Now I practice boxing, Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. There's nothing like whispering in a man's ear the shit he talked right before he taps or goes to sleep." The conversation changed real quick. I'd say I won that game of one-upping.
    Anyways, way too many points to recall so I'll leave it at this: in my opinion the lesson is we all have our short comings what's important is we acknowledge then and work to improve them.
    Stay Passionate!
    Chef Chris

    with
    -aggressivess, I've learnt to have realistic expectations, be gentle with myself first and ask for help when needed.
    -know-it-all, I practise how to shut up, listen, since learning is an on-going process. Now I have amazing informative discussions, instead of baseless arguments.
    -sensitivity, was due to being over-confident...for me, then when I failed at a TASK I immediately equated it to me being a failure, so even good critism was personal. I know now that my identity is far more than what I do, and welcome critism gracefully.

      It truly is a gift and its all about the delivery. He can tell you "you suck and heres why" and explain it in such a way that you get something out of it even though he kinda dissed you in a video. Another video that says the same thing will be way too condescending and a complete turnoff.

    My reaction to this video is how long Did it take you to put this together? Did you do it by yourself, because there is so much overlap I don't know how it doesn't cloud your mind. I mean why not 20 or 40. I think this is one of your greatest traits. The ability to sort things out and take a box of chaos and turn it into a tray of order. I wish I had it and I am in awe.

    Pat, very good details and examples here.
    When you are an Entrepreneur, this is really important to read through the different personalities that people have. I can say that I've come across all of these personalities. These personalities have pros and cons but people use it the wrong way because it is how they have been taught in life. And if you are an entrepreneur or a business owner and you can read through these, you can help these type of personalities. This is really important when building your company culture, building a new business or getting through business growth. Very thorough explanation. *Also - this is not learned in the Business Class!! This is really good info that people missed -every day. Enjoyed the videos as always.

    I think i am difficult to work with....
    2. I am passive, sometime
    3. I am too emotional, easily triggered
    15. I am little bit arrogant, and sometime have the sense of entitlement
    16 & 19. I don't know if i have a bad character in ten years, but sometime i have a little lie to get out a situation that could be a bigger problem later. like "did you eat this morning?" or "did you take a shower?"
    20. This is such a childish thing, but i think i am a sore loser
    25. I am perfectionist, and i am fucking hate it.... it makes my project take too long
    31. Yes, i am sensitive.... God! i am working on it

    All of these characteristics can be traced to insecurity. Know your insecurities and you can see where your personality traits come from. Insecurities are fears. Everyone is motivated by fear. There are those who see it in themselves and are able to confront it, they grow. The rest are afraid to look and they stay the same.

    Love your channel and what you teach but I'll disagree with you about sensitive people. They are the ones that actually may even get emotional but they may also be the ones that are top performers who are struggling with something or someone temporarily finding their way and they are big into self-improvement but they 'd be very different than your personality. Some of the most sensitive people have created amazing value in this world, you may be right they may not be always in business, but we need more sensitive people in the world. I actually think some sensitive people are hungry for constructive criticism and guidance and they care a lot about their work, the business where they add value, and are authentic so they can have the best insight into what is happening in the business when a CEO is not looking because they may not sugar coat or tell someone what they want to hear but what is really going on. Sure it's not good to be sensitive all the time, but some very smart, hard working people are also sensitive people. Again thanks for your content, learning a lot, keep up the good work.

    Mr. Patrick bet-david sir. I just wanted to say thank you for the knowledge you are sharing. Your videos often invoke motions different thought patterns happiness thinking about productivity. Here's where it gets crazy Mr bet-david sir. I'm not an entrepreneur I'm not a CEO I'm not a c nothing technically unemployed but I've not been in work since August 16th 2011 I got hurt at work. Why should I was important to tell you is that somebody like me who will be getting a check until I'm 65 no business no high-powered job yet I find Value and things that I can Implement in my day-to-day life so if I was a CEO and I came across this information it would be a bad day for my competition. So true things I wanted to let you know one I really enjoy your content it's entertaining can you come off extremely knowledgeable. The second thing is that your content appeals to somebody like me in mice current situation I thought that might be something you would like to know I know you were into your Analytics data if there's one thing that you do 365 days of the year Christmas Easter Thanksgiving birthday your briefcase is full of numbers you look at the numbers every day so there's another data point for you sir
