Man who knows name of every shoplifter in Liverpool arrives in court.
I doubt there is anyone with that amount of memory. The reason so many criminals end up there is something known as a "Liverpool Jury" among the Legal Community. Many criminal sympathisers and police haters regularly seem to let people off whilst officials say it must have been jury intimidation.
Any cases the police need a conviction on, to look good, keep away from Liverpool. Manchester Juries usually convict - it depends on the background and educational state of people chosen. It should be random, but I doubt it is because people there for over a week can not do a 5 day trial as they often need to get back to work. Anyone on a longer trial is probably retired or bored. The type that think someone hasn't done anything wrong as they turned up dressed nicely.

You will probably find the van is empty and the prisoner is either on a video link or has been taken in by normal car or van earlier or later. These armed convoys are all for show, for the police to see if anyone wanted turns up. They do the same at weddings and funerals, they go along to see who shows.
Whilst thats a nice fantasy, youve watched too many films. Court in the UK except Scotland; still require the defendant to attend court for first hearing [pleas, if any] and then return again for trial.
And then what? 11 months in jail? good for networking and potential promotions!!

I was expecting to see the man Dr K who plays a piano at a railway station. He might have hit a wrong note or been playing his piano in a racially aggressive manner. Don't laugh, I have seen someone in the news arrested for revving their car engine in a racially aggressive manner after a woman reported a driver that was in a queue of traffic. Anyone else would have been told to clear off.
