Amazing video. Just washed my Mitchell and ness (O’NEAL) Miami heat jersey after watching this. Came out perfectly fine. You covered most aspects of washing jerseys but just one thing... you gotta put like colours in washing machine together when washing multiple jerseys.

During the pandemic I picked up a bunch of M&N Swingmans.....mainly because I don't wear BB jerseys enough to splurge for the authentics.
Wore my first one over the Holiday weekend and decided to wash it after viewing this video. M&N washing instructions don't tell you to turn shirt inside out - so basically I washed it alone on delicate cycle, cold water, spin dry in machine. Don't like putting jerseys in dryer, so onto a table it went to dry flat. The numbers and letters didn't get crinkled, and none of them lifted off or came loose. I mean maybe after 10 washes it may happen - but I don't plan on washing it that many times. I think the poster is right when saying many just aren't washing these Swingmans the correct way.
I guess only more time will tell.

I would air dry it and I would wash it by it self on delicate I been doing that for years and all my Jersey see still fresh !
Also if u have stsins I would use oxi clean gel abs the 5-1 Extra strength oxi . Spray it on the stains the. Use the gel after . Works every time

Dillpickle3768 Hi Yes this will work as long as it’s the shorts that go with it and they are the same color. The important thing is to make sure to wash with the same colors.
jerseys have really gone to shit. years ago swingmans were stitched. now theyre printed and we're worried about damage by washing them.

I don't see the point in drying it in the dryer; Polyester is a synthetic material like nylon that dries extremely quickly. I do not recommend the dryer but in the open air it is safer.

What are the possible ways to clean the decorations (the front & back jersey number 25, the “PHILA” and the player’s surname) where it can get easily dirty because it’s white. How do I clean it with care?

I’d just hand clean them. The washing machine should take care of that though. You could do both. Hand scrub the logos then wash in the machine.

I know I’m late but air drying is how I prefer to dry all my jerseys. I feel like it’s safer to air dry it rather than dry it, the jersey is dry fit so it dries extremely fast if you air dry it.
What if I let it air out instead of tumble drying it

That’s a great question. UV light is very powerful and letting it dry in sun light could lead to the jersey fading. One thing I can tell you is the jerseys are made of dry fit material and dry extremely fast. If you place this in the sun and a warm temperature it should only take about 15 mins to dry. As long as it’s not sitting outside for extended hours you should technically be fine. Just keep checking it and take it in immediately after it’s dry. I wouldn’t leave it in sunlight for more than an hour. Remember also these can be put in a dryer on low and air dried in the house, due to the material drying extra fast. You can give outside a try but you’ll find that when you’re done washing it, it doesn’t feel very wet, just a bit damp and it drys quick.

Yeah I would say so, the tag says to wash cold and line dry. Mitchel and ness jerseys are sewn so tumble dry on low should be fine but to be safe just air dry.

If you don’t have a dryer you can always just air dry it. But tumble dry is not a setting. The dryer should rotate the jersey in some sort of way. Just use the low setting. If you are unable to use your dryer then your only available option is to air dry it.

Emmanuel Tapia Yes Air drying it is perfectly fine. The material will dry very fast both ways drying it is just a bit faster. If you really want to play it safe air drying it is fine.

Go to a tailor that makes alterations.
Unfortunately polyester barely shrinks, and even if it does it would require hot water then hot dry setting which will destroy the jersey.
