Finding a network of friends has been ESSENTIAL for my family. We moved from Virginia and left behind our entire lives to be closer to my parents and although they already live in Florida, finding my own friends was paramount to my transition. We’ve been here since the end of August and cannot express how excited we are here

Found you guys when I started doing research on moving to Florida a few months ago and you have helped me so much in my planning. I’ve never lived anywhere but NY and I have a 6 year old boy. While this has been an anxious process for me moving away from family and all I know, it’s also exciting to think of a new chapter and expanding out of my comfort zone. Thank you! 😊

I moved to Florida years ago from upstate NY with my son. It was definitely a huge step and nerve wracking but you'll be fine if you plan everything out. Wishing you lots of success!

I'm excited and nurvous at the same time, I pray this will be my forever home, and with my teenage daughter, I pray she will adjust, we're coming from Dallas tx.

Good to know that your kids are situated. Reminds me of the schools I went to in NC. They were pretty hands-on about letting your parents know how their kids were doing.

Welcome back! I was in clermont last week lol by citrus tower and then groveland.
You're in the four corners area of central Florida. I'm in Kissimmee Florida and moved to Florida in 2003. Thank goodness I made the moved. Clermont is an up-and-coming area with much development going on with lots of infrastructure taking place. Great move in moving to Clermont. All the best moving forward.

We moved to FL from MI and we LOVE the area we bought our house in :) finding our church here was the best thing for our family!

@@contactmatts Venice is my favorite place in the world- we moved to Auburndale but we drive to Venice (Caspersen beach) almost every Saturday because of the shark teeth at that beach! We looked at moving from Auburndale to Venice - but housing prices are so high right now- we will just keep driving :) Venice is super beautiful - the more affordable places to live around Venice are port Charlotte and north port.
Sarasota is also very beautiful - we looked there as well. If buying plan to overpay and when you bid on a house- plan to overbid. The market is insane here.
We were so saddened when you moved back to Wisconsin, like our souls and inspirations were crushed a little, the sellers of the 5 acres we bought in Four Corners pulled out, and we felt like Florida wasn’t going to happen. But we persisted and bought land in Clermont to build our forever home!!! So now we will be neighbors. So crazy how everything works out in life isn’t it. Happy to hear the Clermont schools are way better than Davenport.

Glad to see another video and for that advice!!!! I’m both excited and anxious about moving to central Florida from Texas this Thursday on a plane by myself. My best friends moved there a few months ago which is one reason why I decided to move to there soon, but I also hope to make new friends and a new boyfriend :)

100% right on finding a support group. My wife is really missing her fam back in our hometown. Especially after we just got back from visiting there just a couple days ago. Her sis just had another baby 4 months ago. We had our first 6 months ago. So she really missing that family comfort. Kid of like you did Lindsey. Any more tips on how to help her get through that?
Lots of FaceTime/video chat calls… try to have a regular time for these every week. It also helps to always have a trip scheduled to go back and visit family… no matter how far in advance it is. Even better if your family can schedule trips ahead of time to come visit you as well… it gives you and them both something to look forward to

Why did you decide Clermont? My daughter wants to move to Coco Beach for safety and Beach. Do you have thoughts on that?

So we are from northern Wisconsin. Close to minocqua. And we Love the woodsy feel you get being in the north woods and the lakes. Is there anything like that in Florida? We wanna move but then we wanna stay cause of finally being in the north woods which has been what we wanted forever and being on the lake. It’s such a hard decision to make lol

Prices are high everywhere right now… More so in Florida because of the fact that everyone wants to move here. There is so much competition for both homes for sale as well as homes for rent. We are not sure if prices will go down soon, we hope so!

For the most part, The job market can still support the rent prices… however I know some people are struggling.
