The changes you've made to the chateau are so impressive! The choices of colors, what to gild and not to gild, the painstaking work on the floors, the bathrooms, the walls, etc., it's all so beautiful! The gold drinks cart is too much gold. I love how the detail comes alive with the gold!!! Makes the stairs come alive….. they are now a chateau stair case!

It's a testament to Carole's skill and ambidextrous nature being able to talk and paint at the same time. I suspect it is a manifestation of motherhood. They can generally do more than one thing simultaneously. Mr. Carole, so far as I am able to determine, cannot do this. He is, however, a true DIY warrior. I, for my part, cannot chew gum and walk at the same time.

The stairs are as I had envisioned and look great Carole. As everything pulls together to look like a beloved home.
In some way, these smaller jobs balance out the more exhausting larger jobs. It looks lovely.
Beautiful ! Simply beautiful, Carole, the way you highlighted and accented the raised areas of the stair balustrade posts, especially the newel post. It's just enough. I concur with you that, at Winchester Cathedral, all gold is too much. .. and Adrian is a master repairing that outside balustrade. His ingenuity and repair solutions are just brilliant. All of that gold on the staircase would be gaudy. Consider using a bit of silver as an accent if you want to do some of the longitudinal ribs. Here in Mexico, the two colors are combined for a beautiful contrast. Very elegant, and stylish.
