What a wonderful, valid point you make. To stand up in a place like that in front of people, tv, knowing EVERYONE watching doubts you. You hold your own and blow them all away! She is far more than just a woman with a great talent.
Every once in a while, when I want to feel good, I watch Susan Boyle's audition. It never fails to bring me to tears. I still get chills and I've watched it countless times.

After so many years, this audition still makes me cry. She knew what this song meant and she sang it to make star dust fall all around us. This is what music is all about. Susan, you have brought magic to our world.

I just keep on coming back here each time i feel down and the world is unfair. Watching this video with all the people not having any faith in her before she even starts and then see her totally blow their minds makes the hair on my arms stand up every time. Good things can happen, Susan Boyle is a living proof of that.

Her audition never fails to make me bawl like a baby. The sheer joy and pleasure on Simon's face while he listens to her. And like Amanda said, we're all so cynical and judgemental, and watching her and people's reactions to her both before and after she sings, is so, so eye opening. And it makes me so honestly and deeply happy to see someone who's probably been judged and looked down on or even just ignore her whole life receive the praise and recognition she deserves.

My favourite audition! I see this everyday, at least once. It is such a delight to watch her. She has struggled all her life, diagnosed with Aspergers, unemployed till 47, but she still fought, fought all her way, and proved what a true fighter is :) A true inspiration!

I’m a 50 year-old man and this still brings tears to my eyes. Watching Ms. Boyle completely ‘kill it’ AND everyone in the audience, I am envious of those who got to witness this in person. I admit I was skeptical, myself.

Simon showed class, but the other two were horrible. "Everyone was laughing at you" Well they got such a smack by that voice.

I saw this show. Susan pulled at my heart whilst she was chatting to Ant and Dec. Her cheeky walk onto the stage made me smile and I rooted for her. I could never of imagined that pitch perfect and purest of tones which came from her soul though, she blew me away. I'm not one who reruns videos but, I just couldn't hear her enough. She's spellbinding and deserves all good things which are sent her way. Bless you Susan because you have blessed the world.

I cried the first time I heard her ~~ no one expected to hear such an incredible voice, such range & perfect pitch. Saw her in concert last night at Wagner-Noel here in Midland/Odessa area & was totally mesmerized by her. She also has a great sense of humor & had some funny stories to tell. She is quite an entertainer. I feel blessed to have been able to hear her on her first tour of the US. May God continue to bless her. She deserves the best! I will buy all her albums.

She looks as if she was run over by a truck. Then she opens her mouth to sing and an angel fills the auditorium. Thanks to the internet, Susan has been captured for history. Years after Susan and most of us are gone, her beautiful voice will be available through a few commands.

I bought Susan Boyles CD and gave it to my younger sister. She'd never heard about Susan but loved her voice and the songs she sang. I told her the background of her appearance in front of Simon and the other judges. My sister loved the story. I lost my sister to heart attack on Nov 11, 2016. I got to talk to her once on the phone before she died. When l dream, she'd in my dreams. I miss her and my parents so much.

Simon has actually said Susan's audition changed his life. He saw how he treated her and hated himself in that moment, and wanted to change. And he did. He became her manager, and he was never that cynical after that.

I needed Susan tonite. I just wanted to feel that happiness again. Remembering when the world was more in balance and entertainment was fun and fresh.
This video brought me to tears when I first watched it. And after numerous viewings, it still does. Only now my eyes well up before Ms. Boyle even starts to sing. I feel both joy and shame, joy at the wondrously pure sound of her beautiful voice, and shame for having shared the cruel cynicism of the audience when she first spoke of her dreams.
I feel the same there is a tear in my eye of how the Audience is expecting her to fail how she proves them wrong that is probably the most happy part how she proves the doubters wrong this video should be shown to help the under-raters to show you can Dream a Dream

I love this and it one of the few times the show has actually uncovered truly new talent. The judge's faces acknowledge this as Susan begins to sing. Wonderful and uplifting. I am delighted that Susan has made a career following this performance. We all need a bit of a lift in life sometimes and this does it for me.
