i used to laugh at the BBC tv detector vans , they will detect you if you don t pay for your licence , mate they could not detect a huge paedophile ring in their own building !
Ah yes but that is because of "The unique way that the BBC is funded" e.g. your money and a few discrete sidelines. The Irony of me watching all that free live TV and never getting 'detected'. Come and detect me now - my TV has not been on in over a year. Bye-Bye-Bee-Bee-Cee and thanks for all the fish.
Facts. Vans are as much as a scam as the license.
Or Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Stuart Hall...
They are so friendly, they have called the police on you. If they could get you locked up for 20 years, they do it and never lose a night’s sleep. They really despise you.
@@user-sx3wh3iu1y I’m giving you a . T . H o , . so you can correct your spelling and punctuation errors.
I got that vibe too they are muppets.
TV 'detector' vans are a myth....if at all it is a bloke in a van looking through windows. 😂😂😂
I used to think that, but I read an explanation on here to the contrary. Basically they CAN use 'oscillator technology' to see if a signal is being received, but it is so vague that it is of no practical benefit. As you say the vans were effectively a deterrent. That's just what I read:
@MG-nm9gt
There are detector vans and they do work, however, they are not accurate enough to use in court unless , for example, there is no other TVs around a particular property. A detached house no where near any other it could pick up. Semi detached and terraced houses it's a no go as they can't distinguish between 2 properties together. Let's say in a semi detached house, both properties could have their living rooms adjacent to each other. The van could not distinguish where the signal is coming from. They had hand held detectors to be used in flats. They looked liked something you would find in star trek, they worked but once again they couldnt distinguish between adjoining flats. This was back in the middle 90s so not sure what they have now. No one was ever prosecuted as using this technology as far as I am aware when I worked for them. Shitty job, shitty pay and shitty management.
Not even the armed forces have equipment that detect RX only TX
@@laceandwhisky Bang on!!
@@markosmith8037yes that's only on TV's with a cathode Ray oscilloscopes, which we don't use now
Nothing wrong or ignorant in shutting the door to create his privacy.
Said the actress to the bishop.
Totally agree with this. Whist they can legally film, people also have the right to privacy if they so wish. He didn't want to be recorded so he shut himself away. No argument, no drama, perfectly reasonable!
🗣ee lee (ELY) not Ellie 🙄
Also in Cardiff ; 'EE LEE'.
I have to say, the guy in the suit was still very respectful and professional and I like his attitude regarding the police.
This guy is complaining and wanting the police to visit and talk to a drone guy. In most cities the police do not even turn up to burglaries!
😂😂the fantom detector vans that never worked just to scare people into buying a license !!
exactly never been 1 conviction based on detector van evidence

Haha... With an ariel on the top of it.. To detect a tv in a block of flats 🤣
Saw inside of one in the 70's a desk a motor moving the Arial stack of paper (assume address's of non payers) irate man and that was it. It's a con not even the armed forces can detect RX only TX 😊😊
I'd just like to say that I have not coughed up the bucks for a TV licence since 1957.
. . . or 3 minutes to 8PM if you prefer.
Felt a bit sorry for that site owner bless him, he was such a gentlemen and never got mad once. I would leave site for someone like him after I filmed. 👍 lucky man to own all that land.
Any professional would greet someone with their name and hand shake. This man marched over and asked questions.
They couldn't possibly detect if you're watching live TV or your favourite CZcams auditor.
If they can, why do goons keep knocking your door and harassing you?
Certainly not nowadays, but going back well before plasma and LCD's they could *potentially* detect the interference from CRT's. They'd be hard pushed to narrow down the source in a set of flats and absolutely couldn't tell you were watching Columbo! It's all a scam. Ditch broadcast TV and go legally license free, there's a reason they call it 'programming'.
The owner seemed a very fair polite Gentleman. Can't criticise him.
Hi all..the area is called ELY, pronounced E LEE not Elie
That security guard was brilliant. Dude deserves a raise.
Apart from constantly grassing up DJE, brown nosing the land owner with half baked information, and phoning 999 to get the police to remove a man for trespassing.
@markossmith8786 That's his job, you whopper .
Do tv licensing goons ask our permission before coming on our property? No of course they don’t.
I have revoked implied right of access for Capita and TV Licencing from my property which means I can move immediately from reasonable to necessary force with no warning.
No. They have no right to enter the property. It is down to them to prove it. Usually they will do it by Internet access like emails adds liked to an account etc. Courts wont deal with you when they cant even deal with criminals 😂. Its scare tactics
Yes if you are accessing the services…
@@TheNorthscapeexactly it's trespass a civil matter, if damage is caused then aggravated trespass becomes police matter. 😊 Touch someone that's assault unless you are defending yourself 😊
Bullshit @@TheNorthscape
The landowner seemed a real gent! I wish DJE had been more reasonable with him.
Courtesy & manners go a long way. You have neither yet expected people to show you the same regard.
Yes, they can remove your right of access.
TV licence sent a TV detector van to sit outside my home after i removed their implied right of access.
I had so much fun confronting the driver about the mythical technology in the back of the van, its literally empty.
Did they abide by the removal of access? Or did they attempt to trespass?
That security guy is impressive, great knowledge and attitude - well done !
The land owner sounded like Victor meldrew!! Was a polite guy and respectful, just with the way he came across and handled the situation id of respected his wishes and left.
Very decent all round this. The land owner was so pleasant. I probably would have left because he was SO pleasant about challenging you.
As others have said, detector vans are a myth. They might have had vans with dishes on, such as outside broadcast vehicles. The owners and security, although worried, stayed polite and calm. It did go on a bit, but the guy leaving his engine running for the entire length of the video, drove me insane. TURN YOUR ENGINE OFF !!!!
You’re wrong, private land with public access, once that has been revoked you are trespassing, they can then use reasonable force to remove you
You cannot revoke access to public land. This isn't private land, it's land used for public purposes paid by tax payers.
Really friendly and very patient land owner ,rich and influential man ..
(Lancaster way formerly RAF Witchford)
Yes definitely top man, it must be a nightmare having Joe 90 hanging out the back of your arse 😂😂😂
The land owner is absolutely right. You need to calm down abit
I believe you filming directly into their windows is wrong as it’s intimidating and provocative.
It’s unlikely you will see anything in their windows that is beneficial or advantageous to yourself or any of the viewers unless any are seeking to gain sight of any intellectual property.
I therefore I can only conclude you do this to ignite some form of protest from the company staff and to lead up to a heated debate and ismerely done to attract those viewers looking for such confrontations which often will border on violence.
too right. Most auditors seem to do this.
i give the big boss credit for tryna take care of business himself even if he wasn't up on all the technicalities!
Are they having a laugh. Take a look inside one of these so called t v detector vans they are empty except for the people inside who have a table and chair to sit down to have Thier sandwiches.
Yep seen one years ago. Even the armed forces can't detect RX only TX 😊
I love how animated that guy is. Reminded me of Chris Barrie's Mr. Britass. 😂🤣
Was going to say the same thing. He does some great facial expressions from 45:45, many of them Gordon Britass-like.
Beautiful business park. Very well ran and kept spotless
Yeah
To my shame I worked (for a very short time) for TV Licensing (Capita). TV Detector vans only existed in the mind of the consumer - no such technology
It's a big myth, as the old TVs were just receivers. You can't detect something that doesn't broadcast a signal.
Security sits there with his car running polluting the air. Denying he has watched DJ Audits but slips up on the keyring point 👏👏👏👏 😂😂😂😂 then decides to ring 999 for a camera, police should prosecute these type of phone callers then they wouldn't be keen on dialling emergency when someone else might be in desperate need for the police. Great video DJE, you're getting better by the minute 👍👍👍👏👏👏💞
Nomally I fully support your work, and enjoy the videos, but i found this audit quite offensive and intrusive and embarrasing, i would not be happy with someone sticking a camera directly through the windows, at the very least this is provocative, under the circumstances the people in this video were more than reasonable. i do hope you have a little more respect in future. On the plus side, great employees and owners representation of the company, and hurray! a security guard who is english, polite, and knowledgable.
Normally I'd be the first one to say when an audit has overstepped the boundaries of being morally right. And whilst yes the owners and security were polite and respectful, having watched the full video DJE also came across polite and respectful. I don't see a problem with the included window footage there was nothing private in that footage. This was a great video all from all parties, DJ was challenged respectfully and he responded in that manner whilst successfully standing his ground for the rights of the public and photography.
Crossing the line blatantly going on to the property just to get a reaction.
That’s not PINAC, that’s purposefully being antagonistic.
To be fair the security fella was clued up on the drone legislation and that was excellent they were both very polite and friendly to be honest
DJE please don’t be a dick all the time. Have a day off mate.
I didn't think these still exist. I've recently sold an empty property and probably had at least 20 letters informing me of an official investigation opened.
Just scare tactics. Ultimately the only way they can do anything is if you tell them you watch live TV, they can see your TV through your window, or you let them in (you don't legally have to) and they find you watch live TV. Such as an aerial being connected to the TV or turning it on and live TV comes on.
'Detector vans' never did exist - they can't.
A TV is a receiver, not a transmitter, so there is no signal to 'detect'.
@@an1_uk alot of people think you need a licence if you own a tv
FOI requests prove that no evidence from a TV detector van has ever been used in court to convict someone of watching live TV without a TV Licence, what does that tell you about them?
I worked with that company and they have great staff looked after well by the fantastic management team. You’re dreaming about the detector vans.
The security guard was loving it 😂
Peeping through the office windows with a camera is a bit odd and creepy. Disturbance? Answers on a postcard.
You came across as a bit of a knob in this one.
Descent people here. Try somewhere rough and try it
'I'm not here to aggravate you on purpose': really? He also said words close to 'I generally ask when I turn up' and 'I'm not going to cause a problem today'. He's just caused a major problem to several people who have had to stop doing their job and talk to the annoying stranger who won't go away when asked to do so repeatedly but politely. Any normal person wouldn't just turn up at a gated property (in fact any property) unannounced and expect to be free to roam around and start filming. What's wrong with the guy? Decency, manners, moral compass, common sense, courtesy are all absent. We all know few watch his very long-winded and rather boring films for the drone footage: disabled parking bays and solar panels on rooves, he even said himself 'There's not much to see'; this has nothing to do with public interest, people watch to see if the schoolboy solicitor is going to get into an altercation with someone. He is patronizing, repetitive and antisocial - he's lucky he hasn't been knocked out yet (or would he pipe up and spit out with the blood 'erm, you can't actually knock me out on public land... I have rights').
I'll be honest, although the owner was incorrect. He was very respectful and polite. Credit to him.
Fair play to you finding them, I’ve been looking for where they are located myself
This was a random tip off
@@DJEMEDIA ah right fair enough, still though. Props to whoever found it
He didn't find any detector vans!! What you on about?
You no longer stay on the right side of the law. Unsubscribed.
Lol, I bet DJE is devastated. 👋
Bye.
Jog on 😅😅😅
A most gentlemanly encounter. Where any physical escalation would have been settled with conkers on shoe laces.
land owner seemed intelligent enough to almost enjoy the education.
They are obviously very salty that their rights have been revoked on like 5000000 properties in the UK 🤣
They wear a lanyard and think they can demand your private details to pass on to the police.
Why complain when he shut the shutter, it's his shutter and you're on their site.
He owes you nothing.
You need to tell Billy Idol, to turn his engine off, it's illegal.
they are an outside broadcasting company they manufacture outside broadcasting vans used by broadcasters (ITV/BBC/SKY etc)to broadcast events such as football matches etc nothing to do with tv licensing . Also how "tv licence detector vans" work is a tv licencing worker parks outside a house (possibly in a van) they have a database of all people who pay the license so they knock on the persons door and ask to be invited in (if you say no they return with enforcement such as police) and check if you have a tv which is capable of reciving a tv signal if you have a tv capable of reciving freeview/sky then you could be fined (unless you can prove it doeant work) IE their is no "tv detector vans" it's bs to try and scare people into paying.
Very small chance they come back with police, if you don't speak to the TV door to door salesmen then they have no chance of getting a warrant to enter a house as they need some evidence to give to the Judge to get the warrant
Bro the TV vans never existed... its not even possible... he closed the door on you because you sound mental, like you turned up to a stables demanding to see the unicorns.
Well . . . . Actually in the very early days of the BBC (1922) they did exist ! There job was to find incorrectly installed aerials and receivers which were interfering with the broadcast signals.
But for detecting tv licence evasion They were just empty vans used to intimidate.
@@fourfoxsake8044 No.... TV is broadcast, I.E we are swimming in the stuff right now... there is no way to tell if somebody is receiving/decoding the signal.
@@Unreality_3D which is what I wrote !
Their original role was to identify badly/incorrectly installed radio systems that interfered with he original broadcast signal.
I'm confused as to where you are confused about my response?
Is the bloody engine running through all that? If so, why?
its pronounced "e-lee" btw haha
Why is everyone so paranoid!! They need to learn the law!! Glad you stick up for your rights and other peoples rights. Good job, respect!
All good people, all polite and professional
Why was his car still running...Disgrace
It was pronounced " eel-E " all in one quick word, not elly. Its not far from where i live, in the next county.
Why are you being aggressive. Lol.
There's speaks a fella that's not been in my local on a Friday night.
He was a nice fella the land owner. And at least the security knew a bit.
Well done
That security guard has definitely watched the videos before, as he knew that DJ Audits gives out keyrings!
Good to see that Phil "The Power" Taylor has a new career
“ELLIE” !!!! 😂 It’s Eee-lee ! 👍🏻👍🏻🤦🏼♂️ Also I dare you to ride a bike around East of England 🤣😂👍🏻 You will soon find a few hills 👍🏻👍🏻😂
It's weird that they suddenly became worried about a nursery that DJE hasn't mentioned and isn't currently near.
Can't believe a 999 call was made. Someone somewhere needed the Police and they were too busy having their time wasted by the caller.
Non-emergency number is their for these situations. Person with camera isn't an emergency.
Loved the polite two way discussion as it let all the legal angles be explored and any awkawardness dispelled. Thanks for defending the open society and protecting it from its enemies.
What a wonderful deception the detector vans were until everyone woke up and realised it was all bolloxs 😊
Great video love these audits ❤

How on earth has that owner got to where he is, must be inherited!!
On the subject of Robots there's a company called Cyberstein robotics in Newquay who'd be an interesting visit, They build the "Titan Robot" exo-suits. 🤖
Yesss that would be interesting, ask if titan is a real robot
where i work we have a public access road to other businesses but its owned by our company but its public access so we cant stop people being there or stopping there in their cars and filming etc . the only thing we dont allow is people parking cars and walking away and leaving it there mainly because its access road and we have articulated lorries coming in and out , and parked cars would cause problems for them and they dont want to damage the car theyve left parked there .also we havent got anything to hide so dont really care if someone films our site etc
Around 16:55 and DJE says “I’m busy” 😆
16:40 sorry ✅
Of course they're a myth, but were convincing back in the day, I don't really watch live TV. But, with a PC conected to a smart TV run through a VPN, I can get whatever I want. Detect that! 😅
It’s funny how the most boring buildings are the ones that the owners are so against drone flying 😂😂😂😂
You've more chance seeing the Lochness monster before a TV detector van.
The security guy definitely watches the Auditors!!!😅
Not good.
what an absolute plonker for calling the emergency services number.
Too much diesel being wasted
He then tells us there’s loads of expensive equipment inside, and is worried about people knowing 😂

Message to Pete in Security - Is it illegal to let your engine idle when parked? Rule 123 of The Highway Code looks at 'The Driver and the Environment'. It states that drivers must not leave a parked vehicle unattended with the engine running or leave a vehicle engine running unnecessarily while the vehicle is stationary on a public road.
But it's not a public road
Shockingly bad security initially!

Main Site man was ultra polite and nearly pleading with you not to carry on. As a last resort I was expecting him to offer you money to leave the site lol. Can you clarify if Police would have come, could they have kicked you off the whole site? Cheers Andy.
