"if you're making your own rice milk at home, chances are, you also recycle" LOL
:P :P
@@amandaorlando5303 lmao loved it too 😂😂😂😂
Made me smile
I just tried this recipe with some old brown rice I had in the back of the cupboard, and it came out SO GOOD! Even better than the almond milk I usually buy!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe 😊
"You don't have to use a nut milk bag"
This sentence brought me so much joy.
I've never had rice milk before. But today I made it for making latte and it turns so delicious
Amazing! So happy to hear :)
Thank you so much! I was so worried about using ground rice flour to make milk because it isn't rinsed. I have a grinder but thought I would have to wash the rice, dry the rice and then blend it. So glad I found your video! I think it is best to keep the pulp in and this seems like the perfect recipe for me! A lot less work! Thank you!
The amazing thing is that it doesn't need to be strained... hopefully, it won't be too thick. I have just toasted my rice and put them to boil. Very excited to see what it will be like
Ahhh this looks perfect for me. I'm so cheap so cannot buy the cartons of ready made stuff lol.
I got it! I make my rice milk for fruit smoothies. I always figured it would be best to cook our rice first. I now see there are so many advantages over using hard raw rice! Thanks very much. I've used store bought rice milk at $1.00 a guart for many years. Now I'm getting busy making my own. This is so convenient and thrifty at ¼ the price ! And creamy too ! Thanks again..
It makes me so happy to hear that! Wonderful :) Thank you for sharing
@@amandaorlando5303 ...and yes, I recycle. Fruit peeling go in the garden compost. I hope you make smoothies too. Rice milk and banana is the base of every smoothie I make. Then add 1/2 an avocado and any fruit that's on sale at your favorite store.. I even add raw potato slices and sweet potato or carrot and celery and figs and guava paste and walnuts. Just keep experimenting. It can never go wrong when you start with a banana. Or even just 1/2 a banana!! Its all very good.
@@leighburville2717 haha yes I am willing to guess that most people watching this video are fellow recyclers! I agree, half a banana is the best smoothie base! I love adding cantaloupe to smoothies.
Thank you!
Wow, so creamy! Def trying this. Thank you ☺️
My pleasure! Enjoy :)
Hmmm. I followed your recipe to the letter and mine was SUPER thick. I added more water which worked for the consistency, but it was still too sticky. 😂😂😂
Next time, I’ll use less vanilla extract and maple syrup. Appreciate the recipe, though. ❤️
I have had this huge crush on this girl for about 5 minutes now
I want your hair 🥺 Do you have a routine for your growth/healthy hair?
hehe thanks! My hair is pretty thick and coarse; I only wash it once a week and use natural oils on it as opposed to hair products. I try to just go with its natural texture as much as possible to keep it healthy.
hii could i possibly only use long grain rice?? sushi rice is a little expensive and hard to find in my city. If so, would u use the same amount of water or do anything differently? thank u!!
Would be a good idea to wash rice?
you can wash the rice but then skip the toasting part as it will not toast if wet
Hi can I use coconut oil? Avocado oil is quite expensive in my country
Hi, would I be able to know if I could use coconut oil instead of avocado oil?
Can I make it just with basmati rice?
Hi, can you explain what the oils are for? Thank you
Hi! The oil works as an emulsifier and thickens the rice milk. I find it helps it to froth better too.
Do you have a smaller batch version? I don't think I'll be able to finish this much in 3-4 days myself, I don't want to be wasteful :(
hmm I have never made a smaller batch than this. But I think you could cut everything in half and it will work out, you might just have to tweak the amount of water at the end.
What is difference between raw rice milk and cooked rice milk.....is cooked rice more benifits than raw rice milk?
Are there any other oils we can use other than avocado?:) Great video!
Thank you! Yes you can use canola, grapeseed, or sunflower in equal measure.
What about coconut oil???
Can we make curd from it
How long did you blend it, total?
She said 2 minutes 1 minute for each round in vitamix
Can some be frozen for later? Or possibly “canned” to be shelf-stable?
I think this rice milk would freeze well as it is not as prone to separation as a raw rice milk is. Maybe freeze in an ice cube tray? I have not tried freezing it myself.
Did freezing the milk work out well, or did the milk separate?
Can you use olive oil?
Yes! It’s such a small amount of oil compared to the size of the batch, so it doesn’t contribute any real flavour. It’s just for texture.
can I omit the oil ?
thank you
yes you can! The oil adds a bit of creaminess but it is not a necessity.
@@amandaorlando5303 thank you ❤️
If I use olive oil do I use the same amount you used in the video?
yes!
@@amandaorlando5303 okay, definitely going to try this. Thank you so much!!!
@@Alexa-eo4tf Enjoy!
@@amandaorlando5303 I will,😊thank you👍😉
Could I just cook the rice with extra water and then blend the rice with the excess water, strain and then drink?
I suppose you could. I would still recommend allowing it to cool fully before blending as it does impact the texture, and also just be sure to measure the amount of water after cooking to ensure that there is enough as some will evaporate.
I think it's best to use clean water. The starch water from the cooked rice will make it gooey.
@@danya.9602would you use raw rice instead of cooked then?
Can you do a NO DRONING ANNOYING BACKGROUND MUSIC 🎶 version?
Why add so much flavoring and sweetener? Are you making an approximation of a particular brand rice milk? I ask if it's not needed for any other reason...texture, tastes bad without, etc??
Nope this is just one of the ways I enjoy it! You can make a plain version if that is how you like it.
@@amandaorlando5303 Thanks for the reply, I am not fond of sweetened, flavored milk, so I was wondering if they were deal breakers for the recipe!!
I found it a bit thick, Il'l add more water.
I tried this recipe, and the amount of rice ratio to water is way too high, it's extremely thick and gooey.
hmm that is unusual. I make it all the time and it turns out just fine. Did you let the rice cool fully before blending?
so you are drinking liquefied rice...
Hello is that hot ed before eat....
Half tea of salt😳😳😳😳😳😳😳no way and no way for all that oil
