    You can also purchase a spark plug socket that has a rubber washer inside. It holds the spark plug nicely while hand threading. No need for a special tool, just use the socket extension. For those with the 2.0L Turbo, the gap is .032. The NGK's come pre-gapped from the factory but I would recommend checking them. Oh and sir, ALWAYS chock your tires when getting under a vehicle.

    Very good video. Info for you. Spark plugs are normally torqued to 18-20 ft lbs. if you do your own vehicle service it pats to invest in a torque wrench and always put back to the lowest setting when not in use or starage.

    Thank you for this video!! Just got a used 2018 Santa Fe for my daughter and it has 59k. I’m planning on doing fluid changes and also new plugs. You are spot on about torque and plugs. Just get then snug. No need to worry about torque specs. Last thing, I have a jeep wrangler and getting to the plugs and PCV valve is a complete nightmare. I can’t believe how easy it is to access things on the Santa Fe. Thanks again.

      @@Dannyglazeha. Hope not. Horrible engine to work on. But PCV valve has to be done in the fall.

    Have you had any carbon build up on the intake valves?

    A small tripod might help :)

    my wife has a 2019 Santa fe as well, and I am about to do most of this myself along with a transmission fluid and tranny filter change. Just curious can you confirm the 2019 does have a timing chain and not a timing belt? I have heard a little of both but most say chain

    • @Dannyglaze
      @Dannyglaze  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hello.. I can confirm that the 2019 Santa Fe with the 2.4 engine has a timing chain . 2 things I did to confirm this. 1st I went to the Hyundai web site for OEM parts . I put in my VIN number to confirm correct replacement parts. My VIN gave me the only option for a replacement timing chain. Also the 2nd is the timing cover . If the timing cover is plastic you'd have a timing belt, if your cover is metal or aluminum, you'd have a timing chain . Hopefully this helps you.

    I have a 2020 hyundai Santa Fe CRDi 2.2. It's a diesel. Have you ever changed a diesel fuel filter? I'm trying to figure out how to properly bleed air out of the system beforehand. Any help would be much appreciated

    • @Dannyglaze
      @Dannyglaze  Před 4 měsíci

      Unfortunately..no I've not worked on one . I haven't looked on CZcams but I had a diesel heater that requires you to open up the bleed screw when changing the filter.. hopefully this gets you in the right direction.

      Steelman Flexible Spark Plug Starter, Installation Aid, 12-inch, Hand Driven, Universal... You can pick one up at most local auto parts stores or Amazon..

      could you not just simply take the ratchet off the extension and use the same extension/socket you used to take them out? that's how I've always done it anyway. Great video though thanks for sharing.@@Dannyglaze

      @@ryanwooldridge7546that works too, keep in mind , This might be someone's 1st spark plug removal and reinstall.. this little tool is a great insurance policy as to not cross thread the head.
