Field Day: The Dichotomy
Vložit
- čas přidán 3. 03. 2016
- Terminal Boots presents the stark contrast between certain units within the Marine Corps. Often times, Non-Infantry units merely use field day as a means of regulating barracks cleanliness, while grunts often take the opportunity to instill discipline and establish dominance under the guise of extra military instruction.
DISCLAIMER: No Marines were hazed in the making of this video. All participation was consensual, and all personnel showed in this video consuming alcohol were above the age of 21. Obviously we're doing this for fun, and this is not a real reflection of our unit, the Marine Corps, or the United States Naval Service. Even though you may have seen something like this while you were in.
All music was taken from The Lord of The Rings Original Soundtrack. Which is the most grunt movie ever made, considering its 9 hours of people hiking to an objective and occasionally taking contact.
I lost it at 1:58, when the obligatory drunk guy yells 'good evening gentlemen' as you walk by! Classic.
That was so me back in the day.
As if it were through the eyes of a boot LT
@@zulumike3228🤣🤣🤣
We all had that dude in our platoon. Couldn't give a shit so long as he was sucking down some liquor.
that was a pretty well done long shot even by cinematic standards
+Alessandro Tavera I noticed the same thing, especially how they nailed the timing of the Devil Dog spewing his beer just as the camera rounds the corner.
That's called a "Oner" my friends.
I agree
1917 vibes tbh
One does not simply walk into an Infantry Marine Barracks...
Unless it's the pizza man
@Chase Mcdude naaah I had to move out of 29 Palms. There's no economy out there. By moving to the city I effectively doubled my income. All the enployers in 29 either pay minimum wage, give you few hours or a combination of that bs.
I walked into 2/3’s barracks on Camp Hansen back in ‘97 to look for a Marine I knew from back home. It felt different for sure but nothing bad happened to me.
@@ghb2513yeah they’re not gonna bushwhack a random stranger on a normal day but man you do not wanna be caught lacking by a group of marines/soldiers with nothing to do, one time I had like 4 other guys and I hide in a new guys room and pounced on him when the door closed and tied him with our belts among some other things, he told me later he legitimately thought it was it for him, or the good ol throw them in a locker and gas it with a febreze bottle, I kinda miss it
you're so cool bro..@@isaac-vb1ng
This is the ultimate grunts vs POGs video yet...
+James Brown i was a POG in the army someone always had a gun at inspection........weak
+James Brown I was a POG in the wing. A Crew Chief. But the bricks I was in was just like this.
Plays_For_Dog I can vouch for this as someone who spent time in both PSD and the Q squadrons. Two VERY different worlds.
James Brown tttrrruuee
whats a pog
Holy shit, the amount of truth in this video is staggering. One time on field day, the dumpster "somehow" caught on fire. Wpns PLT, L 3/9 2008-2013
Were the Machinegunners all drunk again when that happened?
@@Brecconable yes, very.
I’ve seen this video over 20X and this is the first time I’ve watched it somewhat sober. This deserves an Emmy at least because I don’t know how in the actual F*ck, you guys got that cleared... 😂😂😂. The mattress throw alone was epic AF
Bravo gentleman... Bravo 👏🏾
czcams.com/video/Uyn9K_3vPdc/video.html whenever you decide to man up and not be sober, this is great.
Bro idk how this didn’t get them fucked with their COC but goddamn this is realistic altho staged (for cinematic purposes) but they did good
I think this video got them in trouble with their coc lol
He made an explanation in his tik toc it’s awesome
What’s his tik tok?
I was the delivery guy at the popular Mediterranean food place. It was pretty cool just walking through this shit and not being a part of it, just delivering gyros. lmao those guys on the 1400 buildings are hardcore!!
Hell yeah brother. It's a shame Palm Kabob shut down. Loved eating there
Been in the 1400 series for the last 4 years.
@@Steelrose000 fuck Palm Kabob, the greedy bald fuck who owned it, and that damned desert. Finish your enlistment and never look back. Lol
1462 and 1463 were always a shit show lmao
This is how it be sometimes when I was a young infantry boot. Keep that door locked, or get out of town on the weekends haha!
Not Marine Corps.
But I heard if boots actually leave during the weekend to avoid getting hazed, they get hazed even worse. Is that not true
@Mus Alv “good training”
From my experience, it was best to get it out of the way and just kinda accept it as a right of passage thing (as long as it didn’t cross any lines…..). The ones who would vanish always got it worse in the long run and didn’t have that camaraderie within the platoon.
1:04 meanwhile at the infantry barracks....
And at 2:00 we see the fight of the century: infantry VS furniture... Mortal enemies.
@@goodnightmusic-deepsleep4091 work orders... Work orders everywhere, but nobody knows who dunnit.
The cinematography is on point, looks like you shot this all in one take, the timing is perfect
laughed so hard at the mattress
*Yeet*..."Now pick that shit up!!!"
Holy shit. The continuous cut with the epic score in the background reminds me of that fight-scene on The Wall in the last season of Game of Thrones.
This is basically the military version of
Girls locker room
Boys locker room
I fucking lost it at good evening gentlemen lmfao!!
Does your command look forward to these as much as i do?
As a boot I would dose my room with heavy bleach and pine sol, hoping for a short inspection. As a young NCO when they would do that everyone would get to field day in gas masks. As a Staff NCO, none of this ever happens.
2:1 echo company baby!!!!

Fun fact: chlorine gases eat straight through M60 twin filters. Them shits gotta have special attachments to withstand chlorine gases. One of the few things I learned in cbrn school. Fuck fort leonardwood missouri (or fuck me in the woods as we'd say). Army chow is absolute dog shit and don't even get me started on the weather there. I'm originally from washington, so when I say the weather in missouri is bipolar, it makes my ex look stable. Literally rained one day, sunny 90° the next, the day after it snowed, then 85° and a bit windy, then it was thunderstorms for three days straight and that was in late spring, right around may.
@@QockNobblr did MP school there, the barracks were a fucking ghetto 😂
@@solaireofastora8609 the mp barracks were pretty bad, but the cbrn barracks are way worse
them some nice looking barracks. now back in the OLD CORPS......
+Renaissance MarineTV The barracks didn't get nice until the last 2 years or so. After my first deployment I came back advon and the other Lance that came back with me was Gunny's bitch taking a spray bottle of bleach to the entire barracks mattresses spraying them in attempts to kill the black mold on them. That was 2012. The new barracks the Corps is getting are insane. In fact, when we moved into them we all said they were too nice. We as grunts realized the place while very nice was not suitable for the lifestyle. What you also didn't see was the silly waste on a common area filled with PS3's and Xbox360's. Which is funny because they did that when everybody had PS4's and Xbox1's in their rooms. We all looked again at that as waste and wished they had provided computers with internet and printing capabilities so we could print up Marinenet certs that they would ask for over and over again despite having done what they asked for months ago. Every libo they demanded we show our certs even though we had done the annaul training 6 months ago...

@@BangSwitchActuator Not in Camp Lejeune. We're still living in what were considered to be "condemned" barracks 2 years ago. They literally hired people to come survey whether the barracks were livable, contractors said they are not livable, then nothing happened and we still live here. lol
@@Azikkii I was stationed at Camp Lejuene from 2011 - 2015. They built several sweet bricks in the Wallace Creek area. My unit 1/2 got them right before we went to Afghanistan in 2014. I'm sure there are plenty of garbage barracks there though. Your unit must not have been lucky enough to get in on those Wallace Creek barracks.
PCP Media bro I got out about a year ago and the lejune barracks near hadnot point were terrible also while I was in oki they were condemned as well usmc just didn’t care lol

Ah...field days. Nothing like cleaning the head on a LPH sailing
through a typhoon on the Indian Ocean. You live for those moments. Semper-Fi!
1:57 "GOOD EVENING GENTLEMEN!!" lmao
Basically pog barracks vs infantry barracks
Oh this never gets old. Lived both of those situations, quite literally. Knowing the back story to this makes it even funnier!
"Good Evening Gentlemen" followed by the mattress gets me every time 💀
Y’all know this isn’t satire, right?
Aye!
fuck 2nd tsb
I've seen some videos in my life. But this one is by far the most hilarious, most accurate, most amazing video I've ever seen to distinguish the difference between the Grunt Life and the POGs in the Corps. Not only that, but the description is beyond hilarious!
I will never regret becoming a grunt, although there are times where I'd rather shoot my own dick off. lmao
+Ivan Varela "I will never regret becoming a grunt, although there are times where I'd rather shoot my own dick off."
LMAO indeed! (^_^) One of my MCCES room/classmates (1988-1990) was a grunt that lat-moved to the 2800 occ field because, having a wife and young child, he grew tired of never seeing his family. He did a great job of schooling us on how jacked up The Dark Side could be and made us appreciate our lives in Hobbiton...LOL!
Semper Fi!
+Bushido Devil Dog Enjoy the POG life bro. Us Grunts call that a different branch entirely lmao
+Ivan Varela Yup... Even back then (1988-1993 Active, 1996-1998 USMCR) I was wise enough to see/know that LCpl McNeally was passing on his tales of 4 years of grunt life with the feeling/an air of "Oh little ones...if you only *knew* of such sights as I have seen...!" (o_O) LOL
As a vet, I would advise those currently serving (and with all the SWEET tech now available) to take as much video/photos of their time as possible while they are in, because as much as it may suck *now*, you'll wish you had more pics once you're back to the 1st Civ Div...
+Bushido Devil Dog Definitely man. I take as many photos and videos that I can and keep them on a hard drive. Printed some out as well. I'm going to keep them forever, good stories and nightmares to tell my kids in the future lol
so true! Mainside field days vs The Northern Camps field days
.. " Horno, Matteo, Las Pulgas"
“The Fleas”
Ahhh Matteo, good times lol
Horno 1/1 Charlie Weapons....great times.😎
I remember trying to show this to my buddies the day after it came out (it was thursday ironically) and not only was it taken down we had field day formation early, were told field day now ended at 1730 and for a month a snco had to walk the barracks during... what a time to be alive.
That “good evening gentlemen” killed me 😂
Lord of the Rings, the most grunt movie ever made. God that’s hype
I Love the music yall picked. Fits the scene well.
It's been 22 years since I left 1\7 and the shit hole know as 29 stumps. Its nice to see nothing has changed ORAHhlmao
they forgot to include the boot who just dropped in the unit that night in his service alphas and still has clean his room and his new ncos. Oh and the guy strapped to the mattress but that "never happens"
You guys videos makes me feel a lot better about joining the Marines. It's good to see that some Marines have a sense of humor! See you guys in a few months !
lmao! I bet you won't be feeling a lot better when this shit happens to you

Fuk Duk it wasn’t too bad honestly😂 I got lucky with my duty station. But it has some dumb ass moments 🤦🏿♂️
Nice getting something again from you guys! Also The Lord of The Rings description is pretty fucking on point.
It's The Hobbit #1 music not LOTR

"Air Force dorms vs Marine Barracks."
Air Force doesn't have feild days😂
Women dorms vs men’s
This is so funny because I stayed 2 rooms down from the first one. NGL, life was good at headquarters LMAO
Damn! all in 1 shot?
"Good evening gentleman." (Half attention holding a beer) My favorite part 😂.
This shot, in all honesty, is up there in one of the best conceived and timed I’ve seen. And I’m talking Goodfellas etc. Wish you all got more Kudos when you were actively making these, but so happy to have discovered it!
that last bit was in one take, perfect timing
This is beautiful should be included in the Internet Hall of Fame.
I love how they were able to do this on base with out someone looking and asking what the heck is going on😂😂 I wonder if they would actually believe it was for a video
Maybe not.
Because it’s still like this on a regular basis so it just looks normal
Nah their 1st Sgts made them take it down, and was reuploaded once they eas’d.
Welcome to fleet. Lol, that was awesome.
Seriously my favorite terminal boot skit. Shoutout to 3rd LAR

Your videos just get better and better every time
I've been waiting so long for a video and it's arrived, you made my day
I only wished I saw this channel before I enlisted. I saw it after my 1st day in the fleet
1:49 the dude getting forced to chug booze takes me back.
I come back here everytime I need to clean my house just to remember it could always be worse.
I keep coming back to this one. When the mordor music kicks in, so good.
This is where they got the inspiration for the movie 1917 and the whole thing feeling like one shot
😆 on point! Grunt barracks life! Also, having like 6 washers and dryers and only two actually work 😆
That's real talk right there..

The next time someone starts yammering to me about "military discipline", I'm showing this video.
Exceptional depiction of infantry field day. These videos are fucking classic.
loved the long, continuous shot at the barracks.
I served in the Corps for 10 years and ran by this video on accident. Funny shit! I'm impressed on how the barracks looks squared away and clean (im not being sarcastic) . ive been out for a while and all i remember were some shit barracks when i was in. Granted I was fortunate enough to be stationed in Spain and Bahrain my last 4 years so I got to live out in town. Subscribed!
and the oscar for best cinematogrophy goes to....
The coordination to execute this video is impressive.
Thank goodness I got my sweet dd214
rah ammonia poisoning rah
There was a LCpl I knew back in 2002 that did this by accident. Ajax on the floor and then a gallon of bleach in his had and scrubbing the floor with his foot and a scotch pad. Hahaha. I came to his room, he was said... “man I’m feeling light headed and like a cant breathe...” I looked at what he had in his hands... “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?! Are you mixing ammonia and bleach?! Dude that’s chlorine gas! Open the windows right now!!!” Took him outside for a while. Devil Dogs be crazy.... before we realized what he had done he actually said, “Look how bright my floors are! They’ve never been so white!” Hahahahahahahahaha.
This has become my favorite video on CZcams
I’ve done some things... and heard stories but this...??? Epic!
This video is legendary
