Stations 37, 32 and 15 are all very close and all have a medic unit. There is not a need for a medic at 14s with their call volume and all of the close-by medic units.
Keep in mind, although the short sleeves and sunny skies in the video may not look it were in the middle of winter and have had -20 degree weather here in colorado haha
Hey Jason. South Metro is not a private service... we are a special district that covers 12 municipalities across 3 counties. There are a lot of special district fire departments in the US, including the largest, Orange County Fire Authority in CA.
I still can't get over the fact that each person has their own bunk room. So jealous. At ours we all just sleep in one big room.
We don't even have bunks, we sleep in lazy boys 😭

Some stations here in el paso texas have individual bunk rooms and some have a big sleeping room

I love that they have a garden. That's awesome. Between that and recliners in the bay this is my favorite South Met firehouse so far.

This!!!!! I'd deffo choose this station over the bigger ones even though the bigger ones probably get more exciting calls.
I *love* being on the medic unit in a small rural station. Much better station life, more community integration and less BS calls...
and notably there's no room there for a boss to get comfy.
