"Why Play Killer Instinct When You Can Play Mortal Kombat?" - My Response

- Last week the Kinda Funny X Cast crew had a conversation aboout Killer Instinct and seemed to feel that no one cares about Killer Instinct. Having been a main attraction at Evo 4 years and amassing 10 million players before it even launched on PC. Killer Instinct has a special place in many people's hearts and memories and has seemingly done quite with in the past, and modern day iterations. This is my response to the X-Cast crew discussing the topic. Both Double Helix worked on this before being acquired by Amazon Games. The baton would then be passed to Iron Galaxy who managed to keep it going for awhile. The heart of the question however is whether anyone would be excited about Xbox news, or an Xbox Games Showcase of Killer Instinct. My reply is that any Killer Instinct reveal would be met with enthusiasm.

How is this even a question? They're both a pretty different style of fighting game. This is like asking "why play Halo when there's COD"?
It surprises me how so many people cover games for a living can have such terrible takes.

The variety of character designs and combo breaker system make it so unique. It needs to come back.

I cant believe Gary whitta is saying ki is a mortal kombat clone! The combo system alone is completely unique and changed fighting games.
Killer Instinct was the sole reason I got an Xbox one at launch. I remember when they showed it at E3 that year during Microsoft’s presentation and I was blown away. My friend’s and I are played the hell out of it.
Gary’s heart can be full of hate at times you learn to ignore it.
Microsoft has shown it wants a presence in every genre of game. Game pass is supposed to have something for everyone. Fighting games are a niche but an important one.

Lol gotta love that response since....idk....Maximilian Dude makes KI vids all the time, started a movement to get a new entry, and viewers show interest in his KI vids.....showing that YES PEOPLE WANT A NEW ENTRY!
The Fighting Game Community of players that play Killer Instinct definitely want another game. It also started the model ALL fighting games follow now with DLC. 2013 release version was ahead of its time and confused people with its model, but its model is the staple now. A passionate studio has to do be present for a good sequel.
I’ve been a Spinal main since the 90s until Hisako was recently released (in season two of the current game). She has been my profile picture ever since.
KI was so fun with it’s over the top combos. To be honest I have not played to much modern fighting games but KI took many of my quarters back in the day.
Killer Instinct has some SPECTACULAR characters! It's hard to come up with unique characters for games. People just mad because Microsoft has It's OWN fighter that is actually good that they can call thier own.
I'm master rank in killer instinct. I want killer instinct.
