Thank you for this video! I am considering getting a ninja foodi and watched some cooking videos and found yours. I love that you "real life" the reality of cleaning it.
+Kristin Youngman - I found one brand new in the box for $74.99 @ the Salvation Army yesterday. It was an 8 quart. I couldn’t believe it. I almost passed out. I can’t wait to use it.
The way I easily clean the diffuser attachment on the bottom is I rub olive oil on it. Just rub olive oil all over it. Then when it's time to clean use soap and water and a soft sponge and it gets it off just fine. I haven't had any problems since I figured out this little hack
I put water in the pot and boil , place crisper lid on to steam for about 5 minutes ( it just sits not on) then wipe the crisper lid down , use spray bottle with hot water to get residue out.
oh nice tip! You could also add vinegar to water for that extra clean.
I just picked up a Ninja Foodi after a lot of "window shopping". I am so excited to use this great new addition to my kitchen. Thanks for making it easier to understand since it is a massive piece of culinary technology that had me looking crazy for a sec...lol. Great job!! New subscriber!
If you let it go too long it could be a fire hazard and the company needs to address this issue just like cleaning your oven. FYI
Your video is so helpful . I just recieved one for christmas and haven't unboxed it yet due to the cleaning concern. I'm so excited to have more hands free time !
Great demo. Thanks 😊
I just got mine so this is very helpful!
Very informative video, thanks
Thanks, that's helpful to see how you clean. I didn't know that stuff gets caught under the Air Crisp basket, I'll check that out. I've been finding that my silicone ring got a bit floppy, which sometimes keeps it from sealing right. Anybody else have that problem?
Its helpful to have a couple rings ine for baking and one for meat and one for veggies ti thats what I have so my baking, and yogurt don't smell like veggies (broccoli) fish and beef. leaving the ring to air out helps with the smell cling onto it.
I use a bottle brush to get the crevices of the air fryer lid clean. Doesn't get it entirely clean but does pretty well.
Just got this for Christmas 2020; thanks to all for the great tips and for this video!
Are you a time traveler 😳
Do you know what size screw is on the bottom underside that holds the plate covering the wires?
So how do you ever get the part above at the heater spiral clean?
Jeremy, I’ve only watched 2 of your videos and I really like your thoroughness. My concern is that I’m not finding your answers to any questions???
Do you have a link for the little scrubber you used please?
I use a cheap foam paint brush to clean the crisper lid. It is very pliable and fits in between the grates and under the grate. When it gets yuky, I toss it and use a new one. They come in a pack of 3 or 4 for $1 at the $ store or in the paint dept of your local hardware store. It works great.
Im loving this idea. Can you give more details on the process please? You reuse them several times or something? No soap or water or anything? THX Lyla in advance.
@@mahumike7531 I use them until they fall apart, which is maybe 4 times. I've never used any soap. The crusted on food just crumbles off. I just watched a video by Sweetsavant and I bought these brushes, they work beautifully, Bottle Cleaning Brush Set on AMAZON HERE amzn.to/2VEr90e
@@lylaschmooz thx! i almost bought those brushes too but id rather use your method which is dirt cheap compared to those brushes ...plus storing and cleaning them
Puteți pune o poză cu periile?
A suggestion. When using the air crisper lid ONLY, I put a round silpat silicone mat in with any metal rack on top. Protects the non stick basket. Don’t do this for the PC or sauté function or any function that heat is from the bottom.
Really helpful video! Thank you!!
You can just take those four screws out and put the grate in the dishwasher. And, you get access to clean what's behind it and clean more of the lid by hand.
How
I tried on my Foodi 300 EU, it doesn't come off...?
Liked the video thanks. The only thing is 'do you have a link to the soap dispenser & brush item you used to clean the pot?
$ store
Thanks for the video! :)
I just got a foodi for Christmas, can u boil the silicon ring like u boil some silicone when your canning?
After washing the ring..Bake the ring inside the pot at 400° for 30 minutes. Smell will be gone.
Great video
if you can't access the fan there is no way of cleaning the foodi properly. the fan will build up with grease creating a balance issue and down the road a bearing problem occurs making it more of a serious issue.
You can take the grate off with a specific screwdriver. But there's no real certainty whether it voids warranty or not(fine once warranty is up).
How do you rinse and dry the air crisp lid?? Saw you wash it but how does it rinse and dry properly? I just got one.
My only question is how do you separate the diffuser fan from the air crisper basket
That's clearly a huge design flaw, I wish I'd known this before buying mine... 😭
But I still love it very much.
Just have to find ab proper way to clean that lid 🙈
Could you use a splatter guard in there to keep the air fryer lid clean? That seems like quite the fire hazard. 😬
Lid and grill can be cleaned with a small amount of oil on a cloth. Like cleans like! It works well!
Since I don't have a dishwasher, cleaning my accessories is up to me.... and a sink full of soapy water that I soak the pieces in first.... easy-peasy!
How did you get the legs off the basket.
They just pop right off. They aren't connected to anything, just snug fit on there.
I have a sticky residue on the top so I'll use water and vinegar today.
Did it work?
@@amandagomez2288 no.
There are bottlebrush sure for this can get into the canal. There are videos on CZcams for this.
The lid sealer was put on the same way both times.
I knew it!!! 🕵️🤣
I can't remove the anti-clog cap 😩
My tip to you guys is to use a normal glass lid thats fits the pot instead of using crispy lid its much easier to clean
The crisper basket around the walls inside get grease stuck every time I airfry its a pain in the rear.
I have the same problem. I have tried soaking it in hot soapy water, which only helps a little. It is still a pain in the butt to clean. Has anyone found a solution to the annoying problem?
Try straight dish soap on a scrubby.
Don’t the groves on the silicone line up with the 3 little pieces sticking out on the lid?
When you applied soap on the lid, how did you rinse it?
I was asking the same thing.
I would like to know that too. I am sure food has accumulated there...
Same here
Thank you! ☺
I've been cooking a lot of seafood like lobster discussion my ninja foodi I watched your video on how to clean and it was pretty good but I learned by watching other videos people use a baby bottle cleaner to kind of get underneath the mesh and I like you got and it works pretty good I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos
If you dont soak it in vinegar for at least an hour it will continue to stink no matter how well you think you washed it with soap, so untill you soak the silicone ring properly in vinegar white vinegar it will continue to smell
I can't ever seem to get the rim around the top of the foodie clean enough! Any useful tips?
I use a wet rag and stuff in that rimand wipe all around
Its helpful to have a couple rings one for baking and one for meat and one for veggies ti thats what I have so my baking, and yogurt don't smell like veggies (broccoli) fish and beef. I incert my rim in warm soapy water swish wash with cloth. After rim has been washed and rinsed do not put in place until ready to use. Leaving the ring to air out helps with the smells tp npt cling onto it.
Was hoping this would be more than just wiping clean. I would like to clean behind the grating and heat coil. The video wasn’t bad just didn’t cover cleaning the whole thing.
It sure looks to me like you installed the gasket the same way both times. It flipped when you took it off, and then you flipped it back before you put it on.
I thought that as well
Yes correct, First thing I focused on, he flipped it back, and installed the exact same way twice.
Good to know ninja haven't clarified whether you're meant to remove that metal bit inside... I couldn't find the Alan key they specifically and annoyingly force you to use to get the centre out 😡 can't just use a good old philips screwdriver... Needs to be their own crap. Anyway glad I know it can just be scrubbed at. Thanks
👏👏👏👍
3 minutes in and what a PITA
That's what I've been wondering about, that lid!! I keep my basket/grill sprayed down with PAM and soak everything. But that lid, I think at some point, it'll have to be disassembled.
Yep, I agree. I came for the crisper lid info. I thought you might have found a way to clean it better. Oh well, it was an informative video, nonetheless. Thank you!
I don’t own one yet and I came here to see before I buy one what I would need to know about cleaning it. It seems, however, that by looking at the picture of this one, there are two sets of screws; the one that hold the metal grill in and another set that seems to hold the entire getup to the lid itself. It looks like the first set of screws might just allow you to take off the grill. Without you taking it off, does it look like it would be possible to just remove the grill to allow you to clean it AND the area behind it?
@@ArleenDel -- You're right. I just took a look at mine and there are screws holding the "heat shield" in place, but those look like you need a small Allen wrench (or hex key) to get at them. The screws around the outside are Phillips screws. I've just had mine since Christmas and already see where some grease has spattered into that protected area. If I get time to track down my computer tool kit I may try to see if I can get the heat shield to easily come off. My curiosity would normally make me take the lid apart, but the darn thing is so expensive I don't want to risk breaking it. I guess I'll have to wait for one of these CZcams guys to tear down his first. 😎
CitizenPerkins something to consider before your curiosity gets the better of you, I’m guessing if you were to, give in so to speak it would most likely will void the warranty. 😮
Cathy Cutler -- Turns out there's nothing special going on, just a couple of clips you need to pay attention to. Just take a picture before messing with it and you'll be fine.
Great video!
Citric acid...
When you put the lid seal in for the second time you didn’t reverse it but put it on the same way.
I caught that too
I thought the same that I had to rewind the video couple times....lol
This looks like hell to clean
I purposely did not buy one because of the issue trying to clean the top burner. After a while it’s going to be disgusting. Bad planning on Ninjas part.
I agree
No worse than your bbq grill. And your food doesn’t come in contact with the crisper grate like it does your grill.
Watch, ninjas gonna come out with foodi ll and the lid is gonna be removable and I'm gonna be pissed 😡
@@bella-eg3pe I KNOW. This is such a huge design flaw I cant beleive I chose this model after seeing this issue
My diffusser is metal
They have some little sponge that you taint your wood or paint that should help - www.amazon.ca/s?k=paint+sponge+for+wood&ref=nb_sb_noss
I took my crisper lid off and on with no problem
I took mine apart and clean it. It’s not that hard. :)
Which model of the Foodi do you have?
I can't seem to get the lid taken apart fully, I have the Foodi OG 300 EU... 😭
I wonder if these people lost their sh*t thinking about the filth accumulatin on their previously owned airfryers or it's just a visual thing...
Please invest in the steam cleaner
Steam cleaner.
I was going to get one till I saw the lid. Poor design by ninja foodi
Here is my trick to cleaning the crisper lid. Put 2 cups of water & lemon juice about 3 tablespoons in the pressure steamer.
Do a quick release and let the steam absorb into the crisper. Oil & grease will drip away. Wipe with a towel. EZ Just use caution with hot steam!
Curious how long do you let it steam before doing the quick release?
I know....are we talking about 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 2...lol
How do you let the steam absorb into the crisper? Remove pressure lid and close crisper lid?
Time saved in cooking is spent cleaning it!
Don't be so negative
@@sanjayp2683 have you got shares in Ninja. I can express my views. Please go and control your own negativity
@@TA8TASTIC I'm concerned that you are overly negative for a product MANY have rated 5 star or above. Why don't you purchase one and see how it is?
@@sanjayp2683 I think you are over reacting. I am experienced housewife and what I shared is my opinion. The reason for me to check put such a video in the first place is to assess the pros and cons. Thanks for your concern though. I am indeed honoured to have so much of it.
@@TA8TASTIC have a nice day. Continue with your traditional methods.
Very poor quality. The cooking pot finish comes off after only two uses.
I've seen other folks say that but they called and complained and received a new one. As long as you haven't used abrasives. Hope that helps.
I've used mine many, many times and it still looks like new. Granted my Instant Pot is better quality, but you can't beat the Air Crisp and Broil functions in the Foodi. Great for our hot Arizona summers.
Why are you excusing a piece of equipment which you've got to leave dirty and nasty for your next cooking task because they design the lid to get really dirty and not let you clean it? I now know that I would never buy one of these.
