Wonderful, I got one for the same reason, My work is also about 3 miles away. Rode it for about 30 mins around the block put it on charge and about to set off for work. Glad to know it can handle it! thank you
@@pauloch.21 it served me well until a couple months ago when I was caught in the rain and the water seemed to entirely destroy it. Rode it daily until then and experienced no issues regarding speed but my battery life eventually went down to where I’d run out of power as soon as I got to work and had to charge it during my shift.
Just got one for my bday on a Monday, wed. Morning the handle bar blue out. Have new one coming this week, gotrax was very helpful. I say this to say plug the charger into the scooter 1st then into the wall. If not it’s a possibility it will trip
Battery should last 3 to 5 years, pending the manufacturing date. It "dies" quickly because it lacks the amperage needed to travel longer distances, the payload is to high or doing a lot of hill climbing forcing the motor to run at higher wattages. Shortening run times

I just bought one of these and the fender broke almost immediately (I guess it’s the cheap plastic) anyway they are sending me a new one soon! Can’t wait to get going on this scooter
Hi guys, I just received my scooter today and charged full before riding. After maybe 1km I already lost one battery bar and after maybe 4km I had only 2 bars and my scooter made some strange noice (skip) and start showing down and 1 bar show up and scooter died :-( is this normal to battery die when I see still ² bars ? Also I have scooter now on charger 1.5 hour and adapter light is already green . Should be this charging ⁴ hours ?
This thing is awesome but get that tire immediately for the back wheel like he shows in the video that thing is weak as hell. once you replace it this thing is amazing again.

Try to unscrew and remove the handle that’s plugged into the battery blow some air into it. Once you plugged it back in again it should worked, it worked for me :)

I will definitely be getting the new one. I actually just had the fender break in the past week. I believe the metal wire you're talking about is the cable for the brake. You need the allen key to loosen up the brake and pull the wire out and then put it back after you've removed the broken fender. Thats what I did, but I could be misunderstanding your question though.
@@diyprius9157 , I think you got the question right. But the problem persists, there's another metal "head" or piece at the other end of the cable. The question is, can this be cut without consequence?
@@elcarlos76 I know exactly what youre talking about. I actually removed that little piece at the end of the wire. After reattaching the wire I could not reattach that metal piece without it falling off again. Doesnt seem to matter though, other than the now sharper wire sticking out.
Gotrax has an F rating on the Dallas Texas better business bureau. Look at the complaints. Absolutely terrible company. Nothing more than a US warehouse for fully Chinese made and built scooters. Tries to play up USA business but will make you wait for an exchange months and months for "stock from China" all while selling new buyers the same scooters they claim to be out of.
gotrax is complete garbage. the locking mechanism is wobbly and the motor is really loud and weak.im trying to return it .but they are putting me through hell. it doesn't even matter if I have the 30 day return. there's nobody answering the phone at customer service. so they want you to email them. and you won't hear back from them for atleast 3 days. do yourself a favor dont buy from this company. they don't care about you after the sale.they just sell cheaply made Chinese scooters
Mine lasted nearly 2 years before being stolen recently. I had a few things break or degrade over time but I wasnt trippin cause it was so cheap and it got the job done. However, I never had to deal with their customer service. If what you say is true then thats unacceptable.
bought 3 of them for my grandkids for Christmas SAVE YOUR MONEY.................... yea the back break kept breaking front tire keeps going flat try changing the tube on the front tire GET SOME HELP
yeah sure try to call them nobody will answer the phone. they will give you this Covid 19 BS and to go to either live chat (which doesn't work) or send a email. and they "might" get back to you in 3 days .then give you the run around with back and forth emails with another 3 days wait in between. and it basically bots sending the email. with no real solutions .they just hope you give up and go away

i have a gotrax scooter and it still workks and i bought it like 3 years ago and like the front tire keeps comeing off

If I were you, I'd order another adapter. If that doesn't work you may be out of luck

I will definitely be getting the new one. I actually just had the fender break in the past week. I believe the metal wire you're talking about is the cable for the brake. Mine broke too. I just removed it and will not replace. The only problem is when raining. Also, going with airless tires.

I believe it does not have regenerative braking. I'm not 100% on that fact though.

The battery meter does fluctuate. I think its partially based on the output as well as the remaining capacity.
