- My love-affair with Tier IX American heavy cruiser USS Buffalo continues in this game on Shards. Shockingly, I am the ONLY top tier ship on my team. As a cruiser, that gives you nice, warm fuzzy feeling. For the opposing destroyers, much less so. Buffalo in this kind of a circumstance is able to showcase her survivability as well as her firepower... as long as the enemy team keeps pushing into her.

The buffalo is awesome. I went through it earlier this year and it was one of my favorite. AP slaps as hell.
Great Vid with great timing. Funnily enough the american cruiser lines are one of the few I have to play to ten yet. Usually free xp my way to the lvl 7 and then start playing the line so I should be at the buffalo soon. Aside Ibuki I enjoyed almost all T9 cruisers so I was interested how this one is.

Congress is essentially a t8 Alaska.
I disliked Buff until I went from range to reload. I liked it when you discovered that as well. My first t9 brawls I used Buff and just punIshed the secondary Roons which were so prevalent.
I never likde the Buffalo. It was ok, but not great.
Now the Baltimore, THAT is a ship I adored when I played WoWs. My favourite moment was pulling off a full "100% burnout" on a Kremlin (all heals, all HP, all DCPs, the poor guy), on ocean, as one of only 2 t8 ships in the game. The guy was...less than impressed xD
Buffalo was a ship I did ok in, but the Des Mama was what I really wanted. Everyones wants Des Mama. Every.one.
Oddly, I really liked the Pensacola too, even back when she was truly terrible back in the early days of the game. I think the "15 inch bullying" behaviour you pulled off on the Bismarck is very similar to the "14 inch" bullying a Pensa can do, these days. Quite some parallels there.
For me unlocking Buffalo was a happy moment, Baltimore was the roadblock for me. Buffalo is SO much stronger than Balti, I have no idea why people don't like her. Buffalo is one of the rare GOOD T9's.

I think Buffalo, like most of the actually-was-a-ship American line, has been badly power-crept by the newer fantasy ships in the year since you made this video. Don’t know why I kept it after unlocking Des Moines, since I mostly sell ships I don’t do well with.
But I started playing the ship again, and have been doing better. Your commentaries have helped. Patience and caution, while staying engaged. There is some of it in this video, even more in the recent Worcester video. I have been using that in Seattle games, although I will probably reset the line with Worcester. The nerfed American 6” guns with those ridiculous shell arcs are just two tiresome past mid-tier.
I recently got the buffalo to go to the Des Moines and while I haven’t got the hang onto it I can definitely detect potential within the ship from the front it can tank quite a bit of battleship shells from the side is a different story, but my problem is that it handles like a battleship it’s sluggish especially compared to the Baltimore, and if you get yourself into difficult situation your definitely going to pay.
100% true; she doesn't handle like Baltimore at all. You feel the extra length of the ship every time you push the rudder hard over. You have to treat her differently than Baltimore as a result, but "different" doesn't automatically mean "bad".
When I first got Buffalo I couldn't figure her out, I thought I would dump her. I kept playing her & now I think she's a damn good cruiser. To change the subject: someone stated there's a new t8 German BB that is as tanky as Pommern , have you heard about this ? if so, what ship is it?.
I forget the name but yeah, there is another T8 Premium German BB coming. So far it looks like another Odin-type failure.

B5 is amazing. When Zath and I work King of the Sea together, we are insufferable at quoting it (usually).
Finally had a good game with this sucker! 162k dmg and 258 hits… than the next game 35k and got nuked by a Colombo.
I've had the Buff and the DM. The second time I quit at the Buff. The DM just can't take a hit. The Buff can get away with things the DM just can't.
I've been recently grinding through stock Buffalo, and I can agree on some of your points, but I also find myself disagreeing. Stock Buffalo and Fully upgraded Buffalo are very different in terms of capability. TT T9 cruisers seem to suffer from being worse than their T8 counterparts and their T10 successor. Heck, they suffer compared to their Promo/Prem T9 competitors. Riga, Donskoi, and Ibuki seem to be slight exception to this theme, but the rest, kinda just suck stock, and poorly preform when upgraded. Yes, Buffalo has some great capabilities when fully upgraded, with high alpha strikes, reasonable AA, and good armor when the ships maneuverability wants to cooperate. Stock T9 cruisers are actually one of the worst tiers in the game. Buffalo stock is worse than Seattle stock, just because of the sheer flexibility that Seattle can have if played to her DPM advantage. The F2P experience prolly is influencing me here, but this is what I think. Good video though.
content creator hacks istg, i was in this thing and idk if the game put a target on my head telling the entire enemy team to shoot at me in sync but they were and i was getting deleted faster then a google tab when ur mom walks in. might quit the game this shits getting way too annoying.
