Before learning how to advance summon/tribute are already hard for kids. But now we have synchro xyz pendulum and now link lol honestly I don't think any kid can learn to play this game properly now except maybe for a very few Unless they are already at probably at middle school or high school.

Do not underestimate the learning capabilities of a child. Children would get the gist of game mechanics with a bit of time. It worked with Pokemon. :P
I mean, at that age, I'd be confused about tribute summoning, let alone all these new summoning mechanics.
This is by far the best way to teach Link Summoning the other videos are complete trash and are 10+ minutes talking about other random stuff

After ten years of not playing Yu-Gi-Oh I was questioning whether to sell my whole card collection. Instead I bought a bundle of cards from eBay which had loads of Xyz, Link, and Pendulum cards in it.
Trying to learn how to use them all is kinda pushing me back to the option of selling all my cards.

Basically now if you want to have more than one Extra deck monster out on the field, you have to use Links. Konami you sick sick bastards.

The only deck that isn´t crippled by this is my Black Luster Deck.

It's all math, just like rituals you gotta keep the levels in mind. For synchro u add em up, for xyz they must b same level, pendulum u put low number opps a higher number, summon monster between those numbers.. link just add up monster themselves no level mathematics needed. Hope you stuck w it

Alejandro Benett i just bought a pendulum starter yuya and the domination structure so i can learn it first then play it. Mainly because i wanna play yugioh with people not just myself for fun. Now that i see what link is and what it changes...fuck that shit.
Yeah I got to Synchro summoning and thats about as far as I wanted to go. I typically just play by old school rules, although pendulum monsters seem mildly interesting

Good news. Fusion, synchro, and XYZ can now go in your main monster zone with Master Rule 5.
Honestly, if they just print more support for old cards people want to play instead of over-complicating the game to this degree, people would probably by more cards. I think I only bought two packs that contains Link Monsters since they've come out, and lost a lot of motivation to play the game. I never even was into the XYZs spam and didn't use Pendulums, so this change while trying to resolve those problems also screwed my more casual playing as well. Here's hoping for Master Rule 5 not to be instantly broken as well.

@@herbcruz4697 how Pendulums arent even that prevalent and everyone just rolled with links read it and weep links arent even that bad the problematic ones got hit but what everyone would say that about every new master rule and every master there would be broken cards to be honest the meta has been pretty good we haven't had a one deck format in forever which is so good
@@zenith9908 Because you're forced to use Link Monsters, in order to make a deck viable. At least with Synchro, Xyz, and even Pendulum, you weren't forced to use them to make a decent deck. The game was at its best in MR2 (When Xyz Summoning came out).
When you dont know how to keep a game balanced so you have to nerf the extra deck to KINDA fix it.
The game was fine until Pendulum Summoning came out.
I kinda feel like this will be the last extra deck summoning mechanic for a while.
wait until you see super links where the side of the table that you play on affects which cards you can use.

I wish that link summoning was like a separate form of dueling lime a spin-off way to play. EX: dungeon dice monsters
or another format like blitz in chess or 3x3 in basketball.

It's a thing that, in all honesty, shouldn't exist. Star Grail (or World Chalice as it'll be called in TCG) has done it consistently. I appreciate what Konami was trying to do with Links, but the Extra Link mechanic is just incredibly unfair.

Thanks for the very clear explanation! Quick question though. What would you do if an extra deck monster temporarily leaves the field and would be returned, however, all five main monster zones are occupied and you have your extra zone still open. Would they go to your extra monster zone?
I had watched other tutorial videos on link summoning, but absolutely failed to grasp any concept of it. You video perfectly broke it down and explained everything thank you. I honestly think I'm going to really like link summoning, with these changes the game demands much greater attention and strategy.

an easy way ive thought of explaining link is to think of link monsters as multiple monsters in a single card and also separating categories by card number and monster number. basically thinking of link summoning as a way to keep shoving more monsters inside a single space

When the game is so trash I start thinking about playing god card decks
A fun and interactive mechanic is summoning a link monster in an extra monster zone, summoning what you want at its arrows location, then summoning to the other zone a link monster using the one you originally used in the other extra monster zone, leaving the original extra monster zone open to your opponent and opening zone on the other side of the field for yourself

Blue Eyes aren't that much affected from link summoning or do I miss something? I mean their 3k beaters alone are pretty good.
Blue eyes really don't give a shit, unless you're really leaning on twin burst.
Just make it a Chaos MAX build and you're good. You'll only Synchro or Xyz Summon one card max.

But This is the by far most stupid Addition to game .. It limits The no. Of Xyz ,fusions and synchros possible ,Designers should remove it *It contradicts the previous decks heavily depending on extra decks*.. It will kill so many Fusion decks and Xyz decks with a snap.
For example Blue Eyes synchro deck and Elemental hero fusion decks....

so lets say one of ur extra deck monster is temporary banish for one turn from the extra deck zone but when it return all main monster zones are occupied, can it return to the extra deck zone?
Unless its a card that specifically locks out the zone from use until that card returns you can probably pick w/e zone you want

From what I know, the extra deck monster is simply sent to the graveyard, as it cannot be returned to the main monster zone, and the rules don't allow it to return to an unoccupied extra monster zone as a secondary option, it has next to nothing to do with timing.
Is there not a ruling on some card like that where since you can't return the monster you just keep it? Theres some spell where you swap monsters with ur opponent but if you destroy the card they have and the only 1 of the 2 swaps is on your side you get to keep what you took. I forget what card it is but its not Creature Swap

If you didnt used the new mechanics before, you dont need to use them now. Kozmo, Monarchs and most anti-meta decks still function the same. If you play synchro spam or xyz spam you were using a new mechanic. Besides, there will probably be enough Link monsters you can incorporate into your deck to use most of the old mechanics. Dont forget: the Links also have strong effects and maybe you would even prefer some of them over an xyz or synchro

See this is why Links ruin the game. Yugioh has always been unbalanced. Which is what makes it so interesting. The reason Yugioh is one of the most popular card game is bc of the fact that it is so versatile and unbalanced. Why? Because it makes it alot more fun. Instead of having everyone start off the same way and slowly transitioning the game state, it can either be a slow game, fast game or a normal average game speed. Unlike other card games, aka Vanguard, Magic ect. Now since links are out. Everyone starts off balanced and that isnt good. Why? Bc the game will now be focused more on who gets this "Extra Link" first. Knowing the meta these type of first turn plays will be most optimal coming from a competitive player myself. Now your probably like how is this balanced. Well its balanced bc your oppenent could have did the same, but didnt. Then almost no matter what, your opponent cant do anything about it. Making it balanced bc each player has the option to do this, but unbalanced bc this isnt yugioh. I hate links. Kill them dead.
Links does not slow the game. You can spam links as ppl used to spam pendus synchs and xyz. It's really easy to spam link monsters

and a quick note on the new mechanics. This will definitely brick decks using mechanics to simply swarm fields. Konami is trying to slow down the speed of decks to give other decks a chance to catch up. Very fascinating! Glad to hear it
