- Here we have a 2200whp Calvo ACR Viper paired with a 1650whp Shelby GT500.. unfortunately the owner of the ACR was sick the day of filming and couldnt come to really open up the car, and the GT500 owner only had about 45 min to film.. so for this video I gotta make due with the footage I have, and next time I visit my friends in the bay, we will truly line up these 2 bad boys and race them! As a kid who growing up in the 90's...the Viper has always been a dream car. I still don't think there has been anything quite like it since.

Sad indeed, but the numbers don't lie. It wasn't popular at all. We're lucky we even got a gen 5, a money hole carved out by passion. Axed when stellantis moved in.

I remember dodge knocking $15k off and people were still skipping it to wait on the hellcat release, and the others were just too deep into the DCT craze and realization of AWDs usefulness on the street. GTRs were all anyone could talk about from '10 - '14, everything else was dead news.. Bad ass car, but nobody wanted it even when Dodge tried to give it away. Sad for such a great car.
C6 ZR1 and the ACR Viper are what dreams are made of.

When i Was a Small Kid I Used to love the Viper Series Because of its Radical Design. When the ACR Viper was launched It was so beautiful i Had it Printed on my Fav Shirt and Bought 3 Scale Models. My Love for the Viper cannot be Broken and Its the Only Car After Ford To Enter the 24 Hrs Of Lemans. and The ACR Broke 13 track records for a Production Car. So Sad Its Gone But It Will always be in Our Hearts and WM Revived that Spark Today By Uploading This Awesome Video.

You forgot about the Corvettes, the C5R, C6R, C7R and the C8R all of which have Lemans victories especially the mighty C6R i think that Team Corvette has the most wins in its class for an American brand, it has beat both the Ford GT and the Viper and is currently the only factory backed American brand to still compete. Although ford is coming with the Mustang GTD.
The Viper is timeless.

I was 15 when the first Vipers hit the streets! Still want one and really hate that Dodge stopped producing them in 2017!!!!! This video really shows the Gen 5 in amazing detail!!!! Very top notch work!!!!!!!!!
Viper is a special shape that i love. Used in a ton of car designs. Long hood short cab and trunk. Thats why may faves have always been, Viper, Rx-7, Ferrari F12, Maserati Grand Torismo, even certain body kits on the Miata (mini Rx-7) but ultimately a fanboy of the 240z bc that was a perfect car.

That Viper looks awesome but for me 1996 GTS is best. GT500 has to be one of the greatest engineering masterpieces per dollar ever made though.

2 beautiful cars... the World of automobiles is changing rapidly, and not for the best. Im an 80's 90's kid..i grew up loving muscle cars (real authentic American steel cars), dreamt of the European supercars (959, F40, etc), and enjoyed the 90's blue collar cars by Nissan/Toyota/GM/Ford, etc... these are essentially the final chapters on the auto enthusiast World. sure new car technology can be fast, but it has zero soul and appeal. Cant wait for the rows of EVs comparing their software updates with each other while the manufacturers and insurance companies track every single mph/geolocation/hard braking you do in your car impacting your ability to qualify for insurance or lose points on your drivers license 😅
