Plymouth Argyle fan here in peace. If you think you are going to walk league one, I'd be very cautious. It's a bloody hard league to get out of. Regardless if you have the money or not.

Totally agree. We will be the biggest club in league one to be shot down. It will be extremely difficult. I will be happy with promotion but we have to be 100% on every game.

@@hudson7354Only one team has come straight back up after being relegated. That was Hull City. Portsmouth, Derby, Sunderland, Bolton, Reading, Wigan, there's more teams I could add, all took or will take more than one season to get back up, some fell even further before they were able to come up.

I hate our stupid owners who appointed Rooney.. He is just not cut out to be a manager. We will be promoted back to Championship I believe but being relegated to League 1 is what I find shameful.

Word of caution, you are in league 1 for a reason. You are league 1 standard, just like the rest of the teams in that league. I do think that you should have the quality to bounce back, however many teams that have been relegated have found it difficult to win promotion at the first attempt.

With players like Stansfield, Bielik, Paik, Miyoshi, etc we shouldn’t have been in the bottom three. Even rubbish additions such as Sanderson, Dembele, Tyler Roberts, Anderson, etc we’re seen as decent signing by most supporters at the time (including myself). What went wrong (a;art from the Rooney app) was the right balance of players wasn’t considered. Not enough battlers or physical players. So, if we’re gonna go straight up next season, recruitment has to be spot on

No one knows where Blues will finish, 1 thing is certain, they gonna be under immense pressure & every team that plays them will raise their game, that's very respectful mind you & I hope Birmingham achieve promotion 🙏
We will smash the league as long as we get the investment. The only issue is its league 1 and unless we have offer stupid contracts we will get league 1 players. I have mentioned before we now have the golden opportunity to bring in younger players, maybe from our academy and the wider field that want to play for the club and ultimately the Championship. I see this as a positive thing and yes lower ranking football for a season but hey, it’s a season and if TM is back or even GR, we will be fine and fighting for top slot with Wrexham. KRO fans and let’s keep supporting the Blues as we rebuild the team we deserve.

There’s no guarantee we’ll go straight back up, we’ve got to work damn hard to archive it, but I don’t think it’s going to be as easy as you think.
in my life time being promoted from the old Division 3 to Division 2(championship) and getting relegated twice from the prem and bouncing back the first time of asking we always did it through 2nd place or play offs i want us to win League 1 get the trophy this time.
Nothing is given, for Birmingham city to go straight back up to the championship,it really depends on the recruitment of players that we need,KRO💙💙💙

another good thing on ffp is it doesn't really exist in league one/2 so we can deffo buy a good amount over the other teams but we have to use it wisely because if not it won't go anywhere

Long term I'm not worried but short term we face unknowns. As it stands we don't really have a manager. The club said Mowbray would return within 6-8 weeks and he didn't so we need the club to clarify the status of Mowbray as if there is no ETA on return date then my feeling is we need to move on from him as we need a new manager in place to help shape the rebuild fast. We have 15 players out of contract and we WILL lose some contracted players we want to keep. I'm not convinced we will hold on to all the players we want like Paik and Miyoshi etc. Ultimately we need one or more forwards capable of scoring 20 goals in this league with the likes of Devante Cole and Alfie May not too far off the end of the contracts, these are the sorts of strikers we need to who can help score our way out of the league. I'm hopeful but until we see the plan and some actions everything remains unknown. KRO

Love your energy and yes we are more then capable of winning the league, I think it's an opportunity to rebuild the team, a few new faces , defence and upfront and a strong holding midfield player.

Derby fan here league one won't be a walk in the park we found it difficult agreed you'll probably see more wins but expect a fair few shock results aswell took us two seasons for promotion on paper it looked like we'd walk away with the title it doesn't work like that.
Look a derbys financial position when you went down then look at ours, we are in a significantly better position than majority of teams that have been relegated before us
@FrankieWali-ik3zn true we had a crookied previous owner who nearly caused us to go bust plus we was placed under a transfer embargo. Now we have a legend of a new owner who saved the club and has sorted out the clubs finances.we nearly made the playoffs in our first season and finished runners up to Portsmouth this season you'll definitely see a different team that's for sure and you'll see more wins with the right blend of players you should be there or thereabouts don't be too downhearted about being in league one enjoy it you'll have a blast.
@FrankieWali-ik3zn not to mention the 21 points we was deducted shafted by the efl when Rooney was at derby he had a pretty decent team but nobody survives 21 point deduction the reason we were relegated wasn't the players it was how the club was being run.
It will be hard, I remember when we had Barry fry we stormed it David Sullivan and Mr Gold financed us .. we should bounce back but it’s a very physical league uncomfortable games to encounter. As you say we have the resources now with Knighthead ..

Going to be an interesting new season players coming &going.... im not sure if Tony Mowbray is coming back we've not heard from since he's been away ...also ticket prices will need to be addressed will interesting what home attendances we can get @st Andrews ... it took Sunderland 4 seasons getting out of legue 1 will be a tough season i reckon 🤔

Tbf with the right recruitment yes, there’s a lot of players if we can keep hold of with be huge assets in league one, bacuna,miyoshi,dembele,James,hall,paik,sando,laird,Buchanan, a lot of these players will smash it, we need a good goal scorer, a couple centre backs, a backup fullback, 2 keepers, there’s alot of building but we have a solid foundation
We’re gonna be clear favourites to get promoted but I believe it will be a tough slog and there will be ups and downs along the way. GOT to get the recruitment right this time and not sack the manager when we’re in the top 6 and on a good run of form !!!! 🤬

There's an awful lot of this rhetoric around from bluenoses at the moment. It's poetic and i'm sure it offers some comfort. The reality won't hit home until there's only 10k there on a cold Tuesday night against Wycombe. It will also test the owners resolve when there's not 20k there. All owners want success, it doesnt mean it will happen regardless of investment levels. Birmingham City are not 'on the rise' atm. Its a stone cold fact

Will need between 90 to 100 points. Not sure about the owners myself. Let’s not forget Blues were relegated on their watch. They talk a lot but they sacked a manager who ended up keeping another club up. So far all they have done is buy the club for peanuts, and spruce their asset up. Also it’s really only Bournemouth with Birmingham money that have made it through league one in the last 10 years and kept in the Premiership. Wolves too but they have very very wealthy owners 100 billion company etc. Not much adding up here to me. Hope I’m wrong.

Mowbray didn’t win League One with Blackburn. They were 2nd - it wasn't easy either.
Sunderland Sheffield Wednesday Nottingham Forest Manchester City Wolves just a few clubs that expected to get promotion in their first season in League One. Result? They didn't!!

Leicester's lack of effort stopped Blues from staying up on the day in question, I think that it's justified to be bitter about that.
Leicester still this FFP thing hanging over them. IF found guilty, does that provide the basis for all the relegated and non-promoted clubs to take them to the cleaners?

The board and the players of Birmingham City have to take the main responsibility for our relegation into League One.
On the day in question though, Blues tbf did do their job to stay up, and by all accounts it looks like Hull and Sunderland were scrapping away against Wednesday and Plymouth, but just weren't good enough on the day, which is fair enough.
But a team that's the champions of the Championship, and is at home can't seem to score a goal? And concedes a goal a few minutes after we had taken the lead against Norwich.
It looks a certain way to me, but it obviously doesn't excuse the rest of the Season, where we were dire.
@peterlloyd6190 I do get what you're saying, and I do agree with you that Blues shouldn't have left it so late in the season to decide to get good.
I just personally believe that both points are true, I think that Blues were awful for most of the season, and that Leicester were a disgrace against Blackburn, and ultimately were risking Blues, Sheffield Wed, and Plymouth's place in the League by doing what they did.
Please rein in your expectations mate. This league js very tough and relentless. Take nothing for granted.
