Lumbar Spinal Stenosis in 2024, a real patient story with an Aurora Zip MIS posterior fusion implant

- This is a gentleman who suffered adjacent level spinal stenosis subsequent to a fusion. Worsening spinal stenosis and neurogenic claudication and leg pain drove him to seek an answer. We were able to place a small interspinous spacer above his fusion to decompress his spinal nerve roots. 40 minutes, outpatient, weekend recovery.
I’m absolutely amazed at the technology and implants that are available for spine surgery. I only wish some of these implants / spine products were available 15-30 years ago.

Thank you for sharing this fantastic outcome. I am 57 and I too have been suffering with extremely painful and debilitation L5 nerve root compression for around 3 years. My Sciatica means that my left foot is numb and tingly, my calf and buttocks are painful and I can only stand and walk for short periods. So far I have had 2 cortisone shots so and on the advice of my surgeon am considering a laminectomy/micro-discectomy. The procedure you have featured here (and just 45 minutes of surgery) obviously seems far more appealing than having parts of my spine cut away. Do you have partner surgeons conducting this procedure in the UK? Do you see overseas patients? Thank you!
56 years old i have been dealing with this for 5 or 6 years. I'm head.I believe three Cortisone shots shots. Four months a therapy. I can do less and less and life. I don't believe my doctor does this kind of surgery. I live in the northwest suburbs of chicago. I'm really bummed out today. I need help on finding a surgeon
Amazing....but is this minimal invasive or is this still a case of making a large cut. Would appreciate knowing that info.
How old is this male person very please for him I have had operation some years ago now bad fall 70 now need L 4 /5 S1 fussion waiting for operate many years to wait.

I have lumbar spinal stenosis and I watched one of your videos where you were talking about this procedure, so I asked my pain management doctor about it and he said that he was going to mention it to me. He was going to bring up my history and show my MRI to 2 top surgeons that he works with. I was excited and when I went in for my 5th Epidural he sadly told me that they wouldn't do that surgery on me because upon looking at the MRI they said that I have Congenital Spinal Stenosis. My pain management doctor said that at my follow-up he can talk with me about other options. I've been so sad since. Do you agree that having Congenital Spinal Stenosis that this procedure shouldn't be done?
Congenital LSS can complicate things. But Not always. history very important. as is the MRI
