- We start out by escaping the beautiful, but mosquito infested forest on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and then head up to the Dixie National Forest of Utah for some nice hiking and exploring. Check out the easy yet moist and delicious "Cottage Cheese and Cheddar Bread" that Linda makes in camp!

If those eyes are 8 feet off the ground... RUN!
Look at all the people across the canyon on the south rim!
Just one of Linda's talents, fresh bread in the woods.😋
Thanks for the tour. You are lucky to have Linda, most of my meals come out of a just-add-water can or box meal, lol.
More great exploring! Hope you got to see Panguitch Lake, Duck Creek Village, Navajo Lake, and maybe even Brian Head? Dixie National Forest covers a lot of territory.
Not on this trip, but hopefully in the future.
Beautiful, but over ran. We live so close but it’s not as peaceful as it was 10 years ago.
LOL..."you liar you!"...you two crack me up...in a good way...we all love Linda...great video!...:Dave
Thanks, Dave!
Oh you two are the best! I loved how you fooled Linda by fudging your walk back to camp! Good humor, couple! Love it.
😊 thank you!
I learned the hard way, cocktails 🍸and altitude don't mix. Double wamy
You taught me something. I never put any thought into cattle trails being discernable by the squared edges even though I've hunted ranches for 54 years and always recognized them on sight.
Our pastures reflect squared paths.
Oh how I admire you two, higher elevation to escape the heat. 90s here and high humidity makes for miserable camping. I'm not much for "glamping" and paying for a concrete pad to park on.
You're like us about finding a good camp spot.
Water takes longer to boil at higher elevations I think. Ha Ha! When i moved to illinois it really freaked me out to see big golden orbs as high as me staring at me till i could make out the deer or deers, LOL!
Wish we could have gotten into north rim but we were too early and the road in from Jacobs lake was closed. Still fantastic scenery heading north from there. Still have to try the cottage cheese bread. Made the Texas Cowboy Shotgun Shells and that was a treat and a half! Take care guys.
Your food always looks fantastic!
Sometimes in hard to recognize areas I use something called track back No more getting lost
I haven’t noticed the Clam Shelter during this adventure? As you know, it’s a mighty fine place to shade up and edit videos while beating the heat and escaping the insects. A couple of USB powered 9” fans inside the Clam connected to portable power makes it so enjoyable.
Another great video, thanks for sharing.
We didn't use it this time, but have it with us. Most of our stops are just overnighters.
Really enjoyed this video , Rick. GREAT JOB WITH THE BREAD , LINDA.
Thank you!
Pressure washing the engine compartment is one of the first things I do to any rig I own For that reason, mainly. I'm a mechanic and I can't stand having to wipe my hands off every time I touch any thing.. That and if you do get a leak it will be easy to spot.
Thanks for taking us along. That bread looked tasty! Great episode!
Rick you are one lucky guy. Linda, so funny when my sailing partner says "northish", nope, b/c I know exactly and same with time of day..when I wake up in the morning, I can guess within 5 min what time it is. Rick, REALLY? you were a pilot... Thanks so much for taking all of us along, its a pleasure to share these adventures with you 2. Be well.
I just like to watch Linda's uncanny ability to locate camp. So far she's never missed.
Good morning Guys,
When Jo-Ann was working at the KOA in Cannonville, Utah, someone actually pooped in one of the showers. No matter where you go these days, there are people who just have no class.
Wish I knew you guys were going to be in that area (Scenic Byway 12). Jo-Ann and I explored that whole area, and we could have given you some tips on things to see, like the Singing Slot Canyon, or Willis Creek Slot Canyon etc.
Nice video guys. Safe travels, and God Bless ya both.
JT
Thanks, JT and Jo Anne! So much to see and so little time!
Beautiful scenery. As Linda said, grand just seems inadequate for that canyon. God made a beautiful earth if people would only take care of his creation. BTW what altitude do you live at? The uplands are so beautiful in the distance.
Linda gets some really good shots. She has a good eye.
Thank you! We live at about the 3400 ft elevation in central Montana. See more of Linda's photos on Instagram, mrsgonagain, for some older photos of our past days and some up to date and other adventures.
Thanks you two! Going to try the bread recipe!
This is a really great tour of the Grand Canyon very beautiful,
also nice to see the converted cargo camper and this is a great
tour of this area, it's been really hot here in Oklahoma lately and
hope you stay as cool as you can, thanks Rick and Linda.🇺🇲☀️🇺🇲
Thank you very much!
Gosh what a beautiful area! Don't think I could handle that altitude though. I don't bake that pretty of a loaf of bread at home! So glad you can go do what you do, and appreciate that you share it with us.❤
We're pleasantly surprised at how well the little oven works.
wow! what a clean engine! looks brand new. i wish i knew as much as you do about cars. and trailers. and all things camping. love your videos. linda will love her new little oven. i have two of them and they're great. between dutch ovens and that little coleman camp oven, you can make anything.
Thank you Rick for the explanation regarding the cattle trail. Very informative. 👍
The bread looks wonderful. I must try....
Suggestion, cut a pool noodle to wedge between the wall and breaker box.
Good idea!
Great video as always.
I have never seen the North side of the Grand Canyon. So beautiful!
It's a bit of a drive, but worth it. I hope you're doing well down in Florida.
@@gonagain trying to find my way. I’ve lived in the Midwest all of my life, this is so different to me.
Tyvvm for another great Rick and Linda video, what amazing scenery, ready for the next vlog, you always bring awesome content
Thank you!
Fun video. The north rim is on my bucket list for sure.
My favorite! Photos don’t do it justice!❤
Great trip. Those ovens are outstanding!! Safe travels. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻🤙🏻
Thats a very beautiful place
: ) THANKS MUCH for sharing and YUMMMMM for Linda's bread :) Safe Travels and ALL the BEST! ! ! Cheers : )
That stove is on my list too
What a lovely update! A chance for good memories too - I've visited the North Rim, and hope to again. Cheese bread looks like a recipe I can try. Thanks Rick and Linda!
It's so good! And easy!
You two are such a pleasure to behold. You compliment each other like bread & butter ❣️ Much love to you both ❌⭕, Iris and Little One 👋🐾
Good to know.😊😊
Oven . ? The changes you have made from the beginning are amazing. Next Thing you know you’ll be driving a motor home. 🙀
Nope, can't afford the gas bill! Change is what keeps us all adventuring!
Bread looks good!
That bread looked delicious Linda..nice try Rick on getting back to camp 😁👍
Kept us well entertained here in the uk in this terrible wintery summer xx thanks
Thanks for watching our video, all the way from the UK! Much appreciated.
A photographers job is not glamorous. Just the shots made possible by endurance
Like 1 - Yellow eyes, Mountain Lions reflect yellow. Turn your internal lights to Red before opening the door to keep the bugs out!
Another coffee tip! When you're going to be in high-altitude, drink Cold-Brew coffee and just heat it up and enjoy! (I only drink cold-brewed coffee, it is far superior to heat brewed)
Cold brew is pretty tasty, we're making some now!
Hello, I hope you both are doing well. Another beautiful video. Unfortunately we are stuck in Oklahoma (Truck getting about 7000 worth of warranty work completed my cost 100)and Texas near Houston to renew plates and DL while visiting our daughter.
What fun it is to hang out with you guys!
Thanks for hanging out with us. Join us for the next one!
North Rim is on my 2do list. Like you two, like to avoid the crowds at South Rim.
Once I get my offroad trailer built, will see if it is possible to get to Point Sublime. Would be awesome remote spot. I hear the drive can be rough. If not,I have several places on the edge of the Kaibab Plateau marked out.
If we end up hiking together, I'm following Linda ;)
Rick you need to teach Linda how to do things. If something should happen to you she needs to know. I have the same thing here. The circumstances may be different but the need to know is the same.
That is the truth! My wife doesn’t want to know! I just okay!
Hey guys Cedar City Utah is my home town welcome. You guys was camping in my hunting grounds. Thanks for another great video god bless.
It's a great place! You probably have a successful hunting season there with all the game sign we saw there. Beautiful area to be in. Thanks for watching!
The bread looked amazing. The view of the Grand Canyon was even more amazing. I know you guys have a rooftop fan on your trailer. If you’re in 90-100 heat, what is the inside temperature of your trailer
We have the same little oven and found that a pizza stone on the bottom helps regulate the heat better. Amazon for sure.
Thank you, another suggestion was the cast iron plate off a wood burning stove or cast iron skillet. I'll be looking for something!
Check out Bannock Bread if you get the chance. That looked great! Your trailer has great clearance with those new springs. Pause and check your back trail. Great video, thanks.
God bless you both. ❤❤
The Great Outdoors should not smell like a Great OutHouse....lol.
I have a 5 x 8 that I have hoped to build out for near three years now. Family needs have halted all travel plans and my rig has turned into a dump truck in the hopes of appeasing city ordinance for a family member with... let's just say: too much stuff. Anyhoo, I try to keep it as clean as I can, load after load, and hope to someday get back to my conversion. Sure love the multi purpose capability these small trailers have. Can't wait to visit my family up in your neck of the woods. I sure hope to have mosquito and doe-eyed problems of my own someday! Thanks for the ride along, as usual!
Thanks for coming along! Hope you make it out here soon.
My favorite Grand Canyon rim is the North. Been there three times, 2x for south. Awesome indeed. Rode the donkeys down to the springs on the north. Highly recommended. Great video once again.
Here’s an interesting point. You guys slept at about 9,000ft. If you flew over all of Australia at the altitude, you’d be over 1,000ft above Australia’s highest point. 🤣🤣🤣
What a beautiful sight to awaken to.
Thanks for sharing, stay safe.
👋👋👋
Nice to hear from you! We're back home now and "enjoying" the heat; it's supposed to get up to 100degF today. You take care ~~ aloha.
I could not walk and talk at the same time on the south rim ..i would talk but words were coming out of my mouth .N rim is soooooo stunning there in 2018 a great 2 months trip 14 states from Charlotte NC.. Hover Dam a must Vegas a great time too..19ft travel trailer still feels like camping not glamping..in our 70s a bathroom a must would be nice not needing a black tank safe travels and greeting from NC and just one more mile
A comfortable bed and a compost toilet. Those are the most important features of our trailer, for sure! Your 2 month trip sounds awesome!
What a beautiful day! 😊
We enjoy your channel very much! Can you share where one can find the recipe for the bread? It looks delicious. Thanks! Keep those videos coming and safe travels.❤
Hello Michele! It's super simple and you can add whatever you want to it, but here's a link that shows it: thebalancednutritionist.com/cottage-cheese-bread-2-ingredient/
@@gonagain thank you so much!
install a 2x4 on the side of the oupes unit to keep the start button free from the wall.p. sp rick which size is that oupes unit, 2400 watts? i told the both of you LAVENDER DRYER SHEETS IN THE TOP OF YOUR HATS AND 2 SMALL CEDARWOOD TREES IN SMALL BUCKETS FOR THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRAILER, TO REMOVE THE MOSQUITOS AND KNATS FROM THE CAMPSITE AND YOUR WALKING AROUND.
Thanks for the tips; we're going to look for small cedarwood trees. We don't have much room so we'll keep looking for what will work.
@@gonagain the cedarwood trees like i said the trick with iot is to water them when you arrive to your location, a friend of mine took my plants camping , and he was ina n area with a lot of bears around, and he said the cedarwood plant were keeping the bears away from him as well? CONVICT LAKE CAMPGROUND , sierra area.
always a great video. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Rick, you get the drone out after Linda climbs the road. Really, Linda, men, go figure.
I think she likes to make me look bad! But she does enjoy getting out of the car to do that kind of work.
The only Badger experience I’ve ever had was early one morning just west of Lewistown Montana on Hwy 87 headed to Great Falls , Michelin vs. Badger, it didn’t end well for the badger. Only one I’ve ever seen, unfortunately for him, not soon enough.
We thought we heard two badgers fighting, but it was one badger trying to get to us from on top of a steep embankment. We left.
Love your videos !
Thank you for watching our videos! We appreciate your comment; see you on the next one.
I am going to get me a small dog and train him so that when I say go home he leads me back to the camp.
You know, that's actually a good idea. I can't remember where I saw that in a video not too long ago, but it worked.
@@gonagain My Dad trained our dogs. At that time we had a very old Terrier. We went on a one-week camping trip but my Dad decided to leave the dog with friends about 3 miles away. Well, the dog got out of their yard and was in our backyard when we got home. The Nabor said he saw the dog at our gate and let him in, giving him some food and water. My Dad couldn't believe that the dog had come 3 miles through busy streets and made it home.
Lol you two…❤❤❤
Boy I would really like to try that bread. Yum yum! I’d love to challenge you to a game of hand and foot. Come on over!
I was wondering if you guys ever got lost on your hikes. Lol
I love your videos. They’re great. I have to be honest and say I’m not a fan of your new wide angle, camera view. Thank you for the videos!
First of all always enjoy your videos. Look forward to receiving new postings.
Question: I really like your hat. Do you recall where you purchased and how much?
Safe travels,
Here's where I got mine a long time ago:
Henschel Crushable Soft Mesh Aussie Breezer Hat : amzn.to/3LH9dcp
I put one in my save for a later purchase at Amazon. Thank you,
There is a new modern invention called compass
I always have one in my pocket and a Garmin GPS in my bag, but It's fun to test Linda's uncanny sense of direction.
Thanks for the ride along and the nice views!! After camping for 60 + years, my wife doesn’t want to cook anything anymore. You are lucky Rick ! We come up with something to eat together. Not restaurants!! Question, what type telescopic ladder do you own ? 😁👍🇺🇸
This one: amzn.to/3WcrYMs
By law I have to tell you that if you purchase through that link I may make a commission, but the price is the same for you.
@@gonagain
Thanks !
Hi, I loved your segment about the cottage cheese bread. I thought you said you were posting the recipe but I can't seem to find it. Would you please share that recipe? Thanks, Judy
PS: I grew up in Cut Bank and love your Montana travels.
Oh, we showed the recipe in the video. But it's so simple and is just 1 cup of self rising flour and one cup of cottage cheese. Mix it and bake at 350 degrees.
Regarding not getting lost when venturing out on short hikes within a radius of your camp, doesn't your Garmin In-Reach gizmo have the ability to mark your camp and drop electronic breadcrumbs in case you truly did get confused on finding your way back to camp?
Yes, it does and we always have it with us plus we both always have a compass. Thanks for the reminder.
Do you guys plan or just pick a route on map and see where it takes you? We want to get out and boondock like you both do. We watch your videos and live vicariously that way, but actually being there looks so much more fun. Safe travels always!
We generally just pick a direction and start out that way. Our actual route we take changes all the time due to the weather, driving conditions or a random idea.
@@gonagain thank you!
Not sure if I missed it but do you have a link or brand name for the protective cover over the propane tanks? I love it. All pau Uncle lol
I think it's a Camco brand and you can find them on Amazon.
Hi there, I usually don't leave comments because I don't like to bother anyone, BUT I have to say what a spectacular view with a long drop & a sudden stop. I really like your videos, I've been watching for a long time & this is my first comment. Also how do you make money from you tube if you can tell me that ??
Stay safe & hope you had a great 4th of July.
CZcams is a full time job for us and how much money our channel makes depends on advertising revenue.
More pie
Thank you, Dee.
Do you guys ever argue?
Not often, she's small but tough.
Hey Rick, how many miles does your truck have and did you buy the truck brand new?
We bought it with 95,000 miles on it and it now has 230,000 miles, mostly towing our small trailer which weighs about 2,000lbs.
Do you carry a compass
I do, one of those flat hiking compasses. I also carry a Garmin InReach.
☕️
Howdy neighbor to the North!
