Tia Carrere and Daniel Ho at 51st Grammy Awards Pre-Telecast. Tia Carrere was co-hosting with Wayne Brady who introduced her. The song He Aloha Mele is from Hawaiiana album.
She has a beautiful voice... and mixes the traditional songs- with some modern flair. The traditinal songs take a new spin on life with musicians like this- and keep them in the hearts of not only those back home- but those thousands of miles away. It isnt who does it better- its the fact they DO IT.. and they take it from the islands and share what we all love with the world.. It is heard by millions.. and she is sharing the ALOHA SPIRIT that, is the important part....
One of my favorite songs growing up, and sung by my sister school alumni Tia, from Sacred Hearts Academy. She even went to my school prom (before my time though). tony
Well... I'll be! Tia sings! Hey, she's really good and what a lovely voice she has. Thank you for posting this. After watching her on DWTS, I think this would give her the boost she needed to come back and this time... to sing.

@24makaala She wasn't picked to represent hawaiian artists. She was co host for the grammys, and it was just a way to introduce her. I thought she did extremely well.
GR8119 No, you're wrong. She is mostly Filipino, despite being born in Hawaii. Both her parents are from the Philipines and she even said herself that her ancestry a mixture of Filipino, Chinese and Spanish.
She does a great version of the Carpenters' "Sing" too. So far there is only one video on youtube and it's a live performance and she speeds it up then, too. Sad because the album version is terrific!
@@KarenKolar I'll admit she was my crush too 2nd place to Tamlyn Tomita. The real beauty about my crushes is that they both have Filipino roots, and 25 years later since I was a child I end up marring a Filipino wife.
@oehieze I've heard a LOT worse from more popular "artists." I just went through the samples of one of her CD's in amazon, and I was impressed. Perhaps because I had low expectations, but still. Again, there's a lot worse in the top 40. We could use a little bit of this, instead of the same old bubblegum crap.
@123attivo dude, we're all only human. we get old, we age, etc, etc. if you were famous, or even semi-famous, i bet you'd wear make-up too. just because you're in the spotlight, doesn't mean you have to look fantastic all the time.
`Terrible singer`...???????? Grammy award doesn`t stands for good looking people or big breasts. It`s not that kind of competition,it`s about music...if you were not aware of that.Obviously you were born without ears.PREAK

+Hamo-Cyde that doesn't make her Hawaiian..you know how that works mahu
She was the voice of Nani in Lilo and Stitch.
Waiting for her to break into "Ballroom Blitz"!
She does a great version of the Carpenters' "Sing" too. So far there is only one video on youtube and it's a live performance and she speeds it up then, too. Sad because the album version is terrific!
She can put a baby right to sleep I am feeling sleepy 🥱

@NaDesaMzut Agreed she is perhaps the worst possible representative of hawaiian music.
