LORE - Guild Wars Lore in a Minute!
3000 years ago, a race of serpents were summoned by the Gods to be the world's custodians -- they nurtured the growth and survival of other creatures while the Gods continued to build the world around them. The serpent protectors ushered in an era of balance and harmony until a race of new creatures were born: the humans. Humans, though young, craved power and control, spreading to other lands and lording over weaker beings. The serpents retreated to the Crystal Desert for some well deserved R&R after realizing the humans had undone all of their hard work. Despite this, the Gods continued to construct the world and decided the best way to fix their problem was to make the creatures of Tyria more powerful with magical abilities. It was meant to make the task of survival easier but instead, races warred against each other for dominance...which none of us saw coming.
The humans suffered almost to the point of extinction but King Doric, the leader of the human tribes, traveled to the City of Gods and begged them to bring peace to Tyria. The Gods agreed and seized back the gift of magic and sealed it inside of a stone. They smashed it into five parts, sealed the stones with King Doric's blood, and dropped the five bloodstones into Abaddon's Mouth, a volcano. Peace prospered and guilds began to form in various human kingdoms, but Abaddon's Mouth would soon erupt and spit the five bloodstones across Tyria, igniting yet another throwdown. The clash between these powerful guilds for power and control of the bloodstones would be known as The Guild Wars. So...don't screw it up.
Have Fun!

+MAU5 HOU5 Scientology confuurmedz!?
stoffni Inthe GW2 universe, YES! xD
MAU5 HOU5 inb4 Scientology adds a new storyline in their fairy tale that is basically a copy of GW :P
I've always thought it would be interesting if Tyria was a lost feudal world in Warhammer 40k
Guild Wars 2 lore:
200 years after Guild Wars, human civilization faced a downfall and charr became a playable race.
Human race faced a downfall IN Guild Wars 1 and were driven out of Ascalon.
Also RIP dwarves.
Lookoutitsdomke Yes, RIP dwarves. But hello sylvari!

Vaughn Monger

Needs more Prince Rurik.
PRINCE RURIK!
PRINCE RURIK!
Prince Rurik...
Prince Rurik ran blindly into a group of charr and died.
only 4 of the bloodstones are erupted, the 5th key stone remained in the volcano
Well it did go straight up...
We need guild wars 2 lore.
True, but unfortunately LORE is dead.
Wheres my Guild Wars 2 Lore?
I played Guild Wars for longer than 5 years, and i totally forgot about that part of the story. It's such a huuuuuuuuuge story that its impossible to sum it up in one minute. You simply summed up the title, but i get that its the best anyone could have donw :)
GJ
i really have been waiting for this :P
Guild Wars Lore is so confusing, I'm questioning if you did it right.
You got most of the gods right, but Lyssa looks a bit iffy to me.
You forgot about the elder dragons and Glint.
There's a LOT of lore for GW. Don't forget about the Mursaat, which were on Tyria I believe even before the Old Gods. And even the Dwarves and their Great Destroyer Prophecies. So much tangled twisted but beautiful lore in the Guild Wars universe.
Tyrael Archangel
ah. Okay then.
I learn so much from these
Jesus, I just watched all 56 videos in one go. I think this is a sign; I should subscribe.
Needs GW2 Lore now :D
gw2 lore: zombie dragon ish scary. we must kill it. press 2. win
+Kennen, the Heart of the Tempest gw2 lore: HAAAAAA DRAGOOOOONS
It actually improved, plus it depends on how you describe it.
I love you guys you do great lores
Loved it! I'd like to see a Metroid lore video or a Rift lore video! :)
Why is all this lore so wrong? ;-; Dodger noooo I expected so much ;-;
+Grimmjowned Could you explain whats wrong, so that i could understand the lore better?
+ThatTubbyGamer this is 5 months late but here's why it's wrong. It ends too early. The Guild Wars that she mentions lasts for decades, being waged on and off until a new enemy arose from the North. The Charr. The Charr incessantly attack Ascalon, forcing them to seek peace among the guilds so they can focus their efforts fighting the Charr. This works for a time, but eventually the Charr break through the Great Wall and ransack the human kingdoms of Ascolon. The first guild wars starts on the day of the Charr breaking through, then fast forwards two years to Ascolon as a ruin with humans trying to survive their; and the other major human nation of Tyria only having survived the Charr through worship of godlike beings known as the Mursaat.
+Lukas Kenison and guild wars 2 takes place a hundred (I think) years after the events of Guild Wars: Eye of the North which in itself takes place at least a decade probably two or so after the initial guild wars game was released.
There's a lot more wrong than that. The Guild Wars were never about controlling The Bloodstones. The volcano did not erupt because of Abaddon. Not all 5 pieces of the Bloodstone were scattered. There's no mention of any other races or continents (mursaat are pivotal to GW1).
It's a very, VERY poorly made video.
@@HalfLifeHalfDead I wouldn’t blame the makers of this video for the lore being so inaccurate, this was before Guild Wars 2 came a long. We now know that all that video explained are just myths and fairytales created by humanity.
thats a total understatement ^^
Haha! For a moment there I thought she said King Dork! XD The story of Guild Wars is EPIC!
Good job!
that walmer had me chuckling for quite a while.
:D He threw Magicite in there! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR THAT!
"And dropped the five blood-stones into abbadons mouth...which is a volcano"
I really love how you worded that!hahahha
Humans were not born in Tyria. The gods brought them from somewhere else, like they did with forgotten.
Guild Wars prophecies, factions, nightfall and eye of the north lore. All are a must do
Wailmer - So badass that he's in every game
Command and Conquer Lore!
Hooray for Magicite!
I like that pic of dogger at the end, it looks so epic awesome.
Wailmer returns! Lol I like how they work that in.
i love you DODGER!!
YAY!!!! I love guild wars
Note that this only covers the pre-gw1 lore :P but it does a good job of it.
Daaaaamn, now I can tell all my friends how guild wars all started
Thanks for the quick info. I thought that Factions and Nightfall were sort of at the same time as Prophecies, but I never really played them to know otherwise, so thanks.
the pride i feel for my accomplishment is the tasty devon on my sandwich of joy
wow now i kow wat guild wars is about thanks lore :D
DODGER!
Y U SO AWESOME?!
Hoo so that's the story ! I was playing it 10 years ago

Wow.... Havent played this in AGES

I've watched almost all their lores, and so far only 2 DON'T have a wailmer.wow.
We need guild wars 2 lore ! :D
I'd like to see a guild wars 2 lore bridging the gap between the two games.
I miss Guild Wars so much.
Oh my god, I was just about to write that!!!
because they could totally fit it all in a minute
omfg. could you imagine doing all the lore of WoW?
haha love the 'humans rule' graffiti in the day care center
He didn't ask for the lore of all Final Fantasies in one minute, he asked for the lore of one game.
Yeah! Especially Khador!
" which ... NONE of us saw coming " lolol .
YES!!!
0:51 People complained about Wailmer being in the woods for the Poke'mon lore so they put one in the woods here hahahahahah CLASSIC
kormir had nothing to do with creating anything, her godhood is simply a reward
Humans weren't born, more transported. And only 4 of the bloodstones were "spat" out of abbadons mouth (which is part of a ring of volcanoes in the middle of an ocean), one managed to stay put. :)
The guild wars weren't about the blood stones at all. It was tensions between the human countries that caused it, with the paramilitary guilds first skirmishing, but soon it grew out to be a fullblown war between the 3 human countries.
if you talk to your boyfriend like this after he gets home from work... dont ask him why he killed you
Guild Wars prophecies starts after the whole Guild Wars ends which leaves the story to be extremely confusing. An April Fools event allowed players to actually play in the Guild Wars (travelling back in time in a lvl 40 helicopter) and destroy a robot assassin via controlling a "commando" riot police guy.
Curious Village lore please!
Sweet guild wars is awesome
Guild Wars sounds fun.
lol their face when the humans come
For the past three episodes I have been calling it a waillord
this is lore before guild wars :o
0:51
look at the wailmer! LOL XD
NICE!!
0:56 there is a Pokemon in the trees.
Wailmer!
Phil is awesome
its like that irl too
it's not that we're always evil in fantasy worlds, it's that when there are evil ones, they stick out.
Can I just say, I played Guild Wars 1 and I must have completely missed where this was explained lol
Guildwars has lore? I was unaware of this.
About 65% of this is actually wrong, but it's a good introductory level of lore. Good job guys! ; )
0:51 What are you doing there, Wailmer?
command and conquer lore!!
He's referring to this fantasy world mostly, inside which humans are not meant to be on Tyria, as they originally evolved on another planet before being moved to Tyria by some of the gods, upsetting the balance, and causing untold destruction, as such, they were not meant to exist in the fantasy world of Tyria.
Elder dragons first came in during the last expansion of the original Guild Wars games. The name of the expansion was Eye of The North, GW:EN or EotN. Towards the ending we saw Primordus (the one who controls the destroyers) and that was the ending. The plot was similiar to GW2 though. You had to befriend the charr and help them defeat the flame legion, who was the rulers back then. You found the asura and got them to aid you. Oh, and Kralkatorrik was a big mountain blocking the entire landscape
It's GW2 Music. It's called Thunderstorm, and it's a part of the GW2 Soundtrack composed by Jeremy Soule.
The thing is, if you say "Potato" while pointing at an orange (or vice versa), people are going to declare you crazy.
Thank you
god damn do I want my Dot.Hack lore!
agreed. GW has so much lore behind it it would take about 30 mins just to explain it all in basic detail going at there speed.
FINAL FANTASYY PLEEESAAAHH
Best... Timing... Ever!:O
Guys! This is "Guild Wars Lore" not Guild Wars 2 lore.. and these videos are meant to be quick and to the point.
haha omg how nice, the whole story why it named Guild Wars :DDDD
Yay! Magicite at 0:29!
0:51 Damn You Wailmer! Y U ALWAYS SMILING!?!?!?
JESUS I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS A STORY. I ain't playing it though, I forgot how.
serious sam lore in a minute!
so many walmer cameos
i agree, point well made my friend
Yeah, like the Charr thinking Melandru made the world, and then we find out that Tyria has been around before the Gods ever showed up, and had life on it as the Elder Dragons are older than the Gods.
