Me and my wife come here often beautiful Dunoon West coast of Scotland.
Many times we've seen the highlands gathering pipes and drums and fun day out for us and our son and daughter.
They have grown up and have their own families.
The Waverly paddle steamer comes here often.
    As does cal Mac ferries.
We have a place in our hearts for Dunoon.

Very, very good video! I was stationed in Holy Loch aboard the Hunley in 1965-66 and loved visiting Dunoon every chance I got. I remember a pub called "The Auld House" where many happy times were had. I also remember going to a music hall downtown where dances were held very often and the Navy guys would fall in love with the beautiful Scottish Lassies about 10 times per week. I also loved taking the old ferry boats to Grenock and Gourick. I also loved climbing the hills and sharing my time with the longest-haired sheep I had ever seen. It was sure cold and wet in winter but really pretty in the summer. Lots of memories of times long ago. Thank you.

Hi, Len. "The Auld House" eventually became "Captain Ed's" with the upstairs part being called "The Dolphin Bar". It is now called "Sinbad's".
The Paul Jones bar in the town centre held dances as did the Tor Na Dee Hotel in Bullwood Road. Both venues were popular with the US Navy.
      Regards, Allan
