James Everett you know setting flaps and gear is flying too, right? And you know that this is a standard go around which has a standard procedure behind it?
James Everett yeah dude, I do know more than them. And that’s scary. Airbus procedure is so clear and straight forward that there is just nothing to argue about. Airbus indeed has particular recommendations for a rejected landing case which it was, but that recommendation doesn’t have anything said about not retracting flaps and gear. So don’t be a dumbass. These two slammed a 60 tons jet into the ground and performed a completely rubbish go around which doesn’t comply with any procedure that there is out there.
James Everett and the main focus of pilots was always FLYING (AVIATING) , then navigating and then communicating, you seem to not know basic golden rules, why the hell are you arguing even???
What the captain decided to do was absolutely correct. you know why? that plane did not crash. how can you even comment on flying when you have a pax view ? do you know what's going on in the cockpit? what if it was a wind shear? don't tell me you can judge the wind speed and direction with this view. the Airbus manual clearly states do not touch config and just fly SRS orders. and as of go around, everything was followed in order. we pilots use PAD (power attitude and drag flap/gear up). he followed exactly the order and did not change it. he is a captain for a reason. not everyone becomes one just like that. NEVER tell a pilot how to fly his plane. it's his plane, he is the Pilot in command.
If you touch, you land..."Go Around" you iniciate earlier...check out Min 1:16...the left wing lifts up, and the plane tilts to the right so close to the RWY... and yet they try to land...absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible...when the Plane rolls to the one side so close to the RWY, there is one thing you do and only one..."FULL POWER"...you abort landing... MIN 1:16 at the latest they should have iniciateated a Go Around...but they touch and than they go around..?? What flight school teaches that?? Maybe it´s Easyjet and their finacial policy...a "Go Around" take another 10-15 min flight time and therefore more fuel...That would not only be sad, but very dangerous...that´s why I never fly Easyjet...
Wow. Stick to flight sims because you have no idea what you're talking about. Such confidence and arrogance in your comment and yet such ignorance at the same time. Really quite interesting. As soon as they miss the landing zone and that wing starts to roll you can hear the engines spool up. Something which you probably don't know is jet engines take time to spool up to max power. A touch and go is TOTALLY okay, and by FAR the safer option. It's actually called a baulked landing and is taught in all airlines around the world. "If you touch, you land" - Again, totally wrong. If you touch after the landing zone you could run off the runway and end up swimming with the fishes. The ONLY time you can no longer perform a go around is if you've engaged reverse thrust (or potentially something emergency related).
