Dave speaks about a error in the Book of Mormon showing the word Christian and the Christian church 145 years before Christ came and redeemed us. How is this possible?

I left the church several years ago and thought maybe the church was getting more Christ centered under Nelson but then I got a picture of one of my nieces daughters mission announcement and the only book in her hand was a book of Mormon. Then my daughter in law sent me a copy of my oldest grandsons missionary return announcement and the only book in his hand was the book of Mormon. I think the church is actually trying harder to indoctrinate the youth and getting them away from the bible. Shame on them.

Hi Dave. I have loved listening to your videos. I was raised Mormon stopped going 25 years ago. I didn’t believe it or comprehend it. I recently realized that even though I don’t consider myself Mormon and haven’t for a long time. My views of God has been completely Mormon. You helped deprogram me from a lot of the false teachings thru these videos. I have been trying to show my mother the same thing. I haven’t had much success. In a recent conversation with her the concept of exaltation came up. All of the sudden it him me. I’m sharing this with you as I think it will stir Mormons hearts. The Mormon view they don’t recognize is as follows. We are spirit children of Heavenly Father. Jesus and Satan are both our brothers. Heavenly Father was once a man and walked another earth like planet. That was a test he endured to be exalted to become a god. Who tempted Heavenly Father when he was a man? It wasn’t Satan that’s his son. So based on what they believe it’s a pattern from eternity to eternity. So basically heavenly father father had an evil son also. When the current Mormons are exalted they will bear an evil son to tempt and test their other spirit children. The Mormon plan of exaltation also means eternal evil. They will always be at war with evil. That’s not Good News. I shared that with my mom and it really disturbed her. She’s on a truth seeking path now and coming around slowly.

The answer to this is in Isaiah 44:26 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure; even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
Isaiah 45:1 Thus saith the Lord to his annointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut.
Isaiah lived around 700 B.C. The Babylonian captivity was in 600 B.C. Cyrus was king of Persia after the Babylonian kingdom fell. Cyrus was born in 600 B.C and died in 530 B.C.
So if you left the church when your faith in the Book of Mormon was destroyed because Nephite prophets were shown revelation concerning the life of Christ, sorry to hear you are going to throw your Bible away because Isaiah was shown Cyrus back in 700 B.C.

It’s sad to me that people who once belonged to the Church stopped believing & can’t stop kicking. Everyone has free agency to believe it or not but why still kick? Leave it alone & move on.
I left the Church when I was 15 because I didn’t believe anymore but I didn’t go against the Church. I have respect & love for everyone. If you believe in something & your happy so be it. I want everyone to be happy no matter where they find it. If a Child believes in Santa Clause should I go break that Child’s heart saying Santa isn’t real? I won’t do that because it makes me happy to see that Child happy in whatever they believe when it makes them happy. Let them find out for themselves that Santa isn’t real. I see this Guy found out that the Church isn’t true & I respect that because I left the Church. I never had a testimony of the Book of Mormon & had a spiritual experience. I’ve had people shake my soul with their testimonies in testimony meeting & why can’t I have an awakening to gain a testimony. I finally had one when I was 33 when I was about to end someone’s life. I hated how I was feeling & if God is really there I needed help. I took a dusty Book of Mormon off the shelf & got on my knees. I was blaming God & I wanted this feeling to be removed. When I opened my eyes there in front of me underlined was the Lord talking to me in 3rd Nephi 11:29-30. I had the Soirit of contention that the adversary was stirring my heart to anger & that such things should be done away. After reading away I felt the Lord’s hand take all that anger from me. I went back to Church & haven’t felt that in 17yrs. My spiritual eyes have been opened to know when adversary is attacking me. When I was trying to go to the Temple this girl came in my life. The Lord warned me about her & I wouldn’t listen. She called me at work & broke up with me. The next day waiting for the bus to take me home from work I felt I needed to walk to the tabernacle. I didn’t want to & that feeling was very forceful. I walked down to the Tabernacle not knowing why I was there. I waited for the bus there & I turned around to see that girl who broke up with me coming down the sidewalk. We got back together but that night I had a vision. I was in the Temple & I seen Christ coming out one of the doors. Then I seen myself holding hands with this girl I never seen before & we was walking towards the Temple carrying a bag in our free hands. I finally learned the adversary sent both of us to the tabernacle that day & wasn’t from the Lord. I’’ve been deceived many of times & I’m still being attacked from the adversary. I finally made to the Temple & she left me again. I ended up being incarcerated & I promised the Lord I would follow Him if He saved me from prison. After praying I knew what the Judge would do before I faced him. The Judge told me this was the hardest case he ever had & I should be going to prison. He lower his head & for some reason couldn’t send me there. A lot of people witnessed the Lord changed the judge’s heart. One cellmate that was there telling everyone back at the cell block what he just witnessed. He knew the BoM is true & didn’t need to read it but he didn’t want to give up his coffee & other things. He didn’t want to be tied down to the Church. I’ve had many blessings after coming back. The Lord helped me to get off meds for depression & I stopped seeing Therapists. Therapists confused me but when I turned it into a Gospels principal I understood it & would teach them. There where members of the Church & told me your right but they couldn’t teach that in a government funded facility. I tell everyone the the Lord is my Therapist & the Gospel is my meds. I prayfully study scriptures everyday & go to Church every Sunday. I don’t know why but when I skip a day being Spiritually feed the adversary attacks me more. I could go on & on how I’m being blessed & I only listen to the Lord. I don’t listen to Bishops & they have deceived me. I know there not perfect. I was told I shouldn’t go off my meds from a Bishop but the Lord wanted me to & I’m glad I listened to Him. Also there’s a lot of BoM evidence I have found online where others scratch there heads not knowing what it is. Once you tell them that’s from the people of the BoM they say it’s fake & sometimes destroys it. It’s sometimes better to not tell them because it’s by faith to know the truth. Even if others still seen the truth they will still fall away. There’s things in the Church I don’t agree with but I take my questions to the Lord. I prayfully study scriptures & then I write in a notebook. I’m amazed of the things I write that answers my prayers. I love giving talks & lessons because I’m learning myself. I have just written talks for myself because it’s how the Lord communicates with me. I listen to the Lord & not anyone else. This is my life changing story & I could go on & on but I know it dosen’t change peoples minds or convinces them but this is what I believe in. President Nelson has gotten prepared for the pandemic. We where like what’s he talking about to buckle up our seat belts & hold on. Also started the Home Centered Church with come follow me. I’m glad this Guy has found a way that makes him happy & may God bless him.

I'm 70 so yes white and delight some was used quite often in the church when I was growing up. A few years ago when my dad was getting close to dying I mentioned to him to not be to surprised when he saw Jesus and He was Jewish. My dad was a wonderful man but was a bit prejudice because when he went on his mission to the south he was told not to teach the blacks the gospel. But back then they didn't use the word black so that's how he justified his prejudice. When the blacks got the priesthood he said if he ever got a black bishop he would leave the church. Good question. The reason that latter-day saints may think 'lightly' about this, as you put it, is because in latter-day saints theology, it is believed that the doctrines of baptism, repentance, receiving the holy ghost were taught since Adam. So it is not surprising to them to learn that it was also taught 150 years before Christ. If you would like to learn more about why LDS people believe that you can refer to Moses 6:51-53 in their book of scripture called the Pearl of Great price. I hope that answers the question.

@@ksanofsky6 I don't recognize the BoM as anything more than 19th century literature.
The following has always been believed in the Church (Orthodox) since the 1st century regarding holy baptism:
We die and rise with Christ in proper baptism (thrice immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and are born again of water and the Spirit), we become adopted sons and daughters of God the Father, the Holy Spirit descends upon us, we are incorporated into the Body of Christ which is His Bride and Church (Orthodox), we are infused with His grace.
Holy Chrismation (anointing with holy Chrism oil to be sealed with the Holy Spirit) follows right after baptism. Right after that is the Holy Eucharist, Christ Himself, given to the individual as true Food and true Drink. These are the three most important Holy Mysteries (Sacraments), only one of which can be repeated, reception of the Holy Eucharist.

I agree that Christians didn't exist in America but disagree with your why. You have to meet Mormons on their own turf which is still the turf of spiritual faith.
They believe that Christ was revealed to the nephites more fully than to the Jews, because of their faithfulness. They think the more faithful you are, the more knowledge you'll have. So the nephites were ahead of their time with baptism and the gospel because God foreknew the ministry of Christ, and revealed it to them.
I think approaching the book of Mormon from a historical critical method is a fallacy and the reason why many exmormons also leave religion all together. What your premise is is that it wasn't possible for ancient Americans to know through revelation, details of the ministry of the messiah. The reason being, it's an anachronism.
This is the language of historical critics. They read the book of Daniel and say that it's not possible for Daniel to have known about the Seleucid empire in Babylon, so we don't think Daniel really wrote this or that it's inspired by God.

      Matt 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs (brother of Satan), and false prophets (Mormon leaders), and shall shew great signs and wonders (book of Mormon); insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect (you).
You have been taught to speak as though the Mormon jesus is the same True Christian Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ - and yet Mormonism literally teaches Jesus and his Atoning sacrifice on the cross ALONE Is NOT enough to save mankind. Mormonism teaches you MUST pay the Mormon church - in order to enter the Mormon temple - in order to receive “saving ordinances” - in order to be “saved” in the highest Mormon heaven. Then “maybe” the Mormon jesus will save you … maybe.
To teach this false doctrine is literally teaching Jesus is NOT enough to save you. Mormonism literally teaches YOU MUST do all these other things… and even then still - Mormons never “know” if they have done “enough” to be saved.
Mormonism literally takes down the cross of Jesus and hides it away - then puts up a giant “man angel” on top their temples.
Then the Mormon leaders deceptively steal the name of our Lord God Jesus Christ and place it in the name of their church - and AGAIN - “deceive the elect with great signs and wonders” (Matt 24:24). The deception is clearly revealed!
The Mormon leaders teach, not only was their Mormon god once a mortal man, but his father and grandfather - on and on - were all once mortal men too (polytheism - endless gods). The Mormon leaders also teach they too can become a god EXACTLY like Satan desires to become a god! The deception is clearly revealed!
And yet Mormons continuously ignore or attempt to excuse away the absolute inexcusable facts - The Mormon leaders are documented, verified and proven liars of Mormon history, doctrines and finances… they are proven LIARS and deceivers…
… And Sadly Mormonism acts exactly like the ancient Israelites- as God has revealed in these last days the FULL truth of Mormonism’s lies and manipulation… it is literally like God sending mana from heaven, and Mormons refuse to eat, or Moses and his serpent staff, and Mormons refuse to look!
So so sad, yet so so revealing.
We truly pray the God will give you and all Mormons “eyes to see” and “ears to hear” the true gospel of Jesus Christ filled with unconditional love and grace. We pray in HIS name Jesus Christ, amen
      Jesus is enough

So LDS believers are accused of not wanting to discuss things that might require them to go too deep. So, Mr. Orthodox Christian: Are Adam and Eve, Noah's Flood and the Tower of Babel historical events that happened as described in the Bible? A simple yes or no will do. What's that? you don't want to look at those too closely because it makes you uncomfortable to acknowledge that your holy book is fool of fairy tales?
Do you think that maybe you are just a credulous person that has gone from one belief system to another and then another?

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because i was searching for the truth, and God gave it to me. Now, first of all Dave, there is no such thing as mormonism, and you know that. When the Father and the Son appeared to Joseph Smith in his youth, the Saviour forbade him to join any of the churches of that time because said He : They are all an abomination in His sight, that they draw near to Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. You have not proven or convinced me that the Book of Mormon is false, because I do not deny the power of the Holy Ghost. It is by that power that I know that the LDS Church is true. There are Thosands of LDS members apostatizing in our day, you being one of them. One of the problems in our Church now, as I see it, is that the snoring of the Latter Day Saints is so loud that many are not able to either see nor hear the signs or the doctrines in their complacency. Therefore they are shying away from discussing doctrines with you, because they haven't bothered to learn them, or obtained a sure testimony of the Curch by the Holy Ghost. You may thrive on that, but the millstone around your neck will be fastened tighter and tighter as you offend these little ones as Christ called them. Jehovah of the old testament or Jesus Christ as we have come to know Him as in the new testament existed from before the world was created. Both apostles John ( Jn. 1:3) and Paul ( Hebr. 1:2) testified that He created the world upon which we live. The people of the old testament had the priesthood of God, and therefore also the authority to baptize. As we know, Lehi left Jerusalem about 600 BC. A prophet of God who had the priesthood. The old testament is full of prophesies about Christ and his mission. Likewise the Book of Mormon peoples had the priesthood of God a long time before His ministry on earth. They knew He would come and put their trust in Him. Just like we are now waiting for His second coming. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is the true Church on the earth today. I bear you that testimony in the Name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Amen Brother. I always hated being called Mormon because I’m not one. I wasn’t baptized in the waters of Mormon. It’s a nickname that others give to us out of hatred. I cried for joy when President Nelson said not to go by that name anymore & use the correct name. If someone really wants to know which people Christ blesses more, go around & ask people to share their testimonies how Christ blesses them. I share my experiences with family & friends who are nonmembers that belong to different Churches. Not once they have ever shared how Christ blesses them. That tells me they really don’t know Him. One person can preach all they want but they don’t really teach. It’s through the mouths of many witnesses that teach each other. I know it’s true too & I once was against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It wasn’t until through my trials that I really got to know Christ. Once I asked Him for forgiveness & promised to follow Him I been blessed beyond measure. It’s sad that others turn their hearts away once they have tasted the fruit. If it wasn’t good they wouldn’t have became a member in the first place. I pray for all to know Christ.
