- Never in LEGO history has there ever been a 2 year strong social media campaign leading up to a LEGO set. It's been such a long time since the beginning of the LEGO Star Wars community campaign for a 501st battlepack, so today I give you a rundown of every key figure and event in the campaign's timeline that lead to the creation of the 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers set.
From prominent and key figures in the movment like @legostarwars.memes, @MandRproductions, and @RichboyJhae, all the way to the relentless and consistent #wewanta501stbattlepack battle cries on LEGO's social media posts, the fight to get this set was certainly no easy task. The end result may just be the most popular set ever created.

I just think LEGO needs to listen to its fans more. I mean look, they’ve made more money off of this set than they did off of all the Lukes Landspeeders combined(I think)! And it only been out for 3 week!
Ahh yes statements like these are the reason no one takes us seriously. Big time you think. We have no room to talk about how much money LEGO makes. We have no way way of knowing and none of these you tubers know either. LEGO listens to its fans and you’d be surprised how many you tubers LEGO actually talks too.

I think going forward LEGO should do the ideas route for the LEGO designers.
So the designers can pitch their ideas but for the current license.
Star Wars, marvel,dc, Minecraft etc. excluding original license.
allowing us to vote for one of the set of a particular license theme.
We all know they scrap ideas 24/7. Maybe it’s an idea we want.
To answer that last question, I think that now would be a great time to campaign for more Clone Wars sets so we don't get more scaled down OT models next wave.
Got to be a good thing for a company if their customers say 'make this and we'll buy it', far better than the company putting out a product that nobody wants. Win for Lego and win for us.
Will they do it again? maybe, I think we've done our bit buying it by the armful, if they want to sell a shed load of sets, listen to what we want. Lego will do whats best for Lego but at the end of the day, money in the till is their goal.
A History book with a chapter that goes from 2018 to 2020 will be called "THE 501ST BATTLE PACK"

If I’m not mistaken I believe there was an ask m&r episode that had a question about battle packs then after that Ryan made the we want a 501st battle pack video. I might be 100% wrong that was 2 years ago but I think there was something that sparked Ryan’s first video. Also I think letting LEGO know we want a set is good as long as we don’t abuse it or bully them since LEGO doesn’t owe us anything

On September 20, 2019 a youtuber named rmallstar100 uploaded a video confirming/predicting a 501st battlepack in the year 2020. He wasn’t only predicting the set but he was positive on it coming in 2020

To be honest I had pretty much stopped buying LEGO for multiple years in a row outside of the occasional Speed Champions set or CMF figure, and the hype around the 501st battle pack and new clone wars stuff is what got me back into it completely this year.

9:15 well if the community campaigns for a set, it shows lego there is a demand for something and gives them an idea what the fans want, sorta like the lego ideas, but for brand sets. I can see how this could be bad, but in the end lego made a set that is selling out faster than they can supply it, so that must make them very happy.

Today, I went to my local Walmart. I was just looking to buy an aat. I was sad when they dident have any. Until, I looked around for a second. Then what I thought would definitely not happen happened. They had four of these!!! I bought all of them. And I’m not disappointed. I love this set, and if their is any combo of two sets I’d want. It’d be the aat, and a 501st battle pack.

Lego should take profite of this, They should flood the market with so many of the set so it become common so that the people that bought many for resale are left stuck with them. Don't retire the set, do more and make your money lego.

I think lego should just fo a fan poll giving like 12 options for future sets and we can choose those 3 by majority's rule. Like they did with the ucs gunship. Just give us 3-4 price slots with 3-4 options per slot and see what the PAYING fans want to buy next. They can still make plenty more sets that we don't choose...

I don't know about you guys, but the 501st battle pack movement started before Ryan made it a thing. I'm talking "pizzamovies" era. lol people have been talking about this for a decade, but if it wasn't for Ryan and legostarwars.memes, it wouldn't have happened.
The movement never transitioned into something feasible until legostarwars.memes and Ryan put it on blast. In my opinion, that is where the movement started.

Your "complete" history is wrong: LEGO already teased this set in februari 2018 when it showed a 501st trooper togheter with the walker in their lego magazine...
