Thank you for documenting your journey and the journey continues! You did an amazing job with your training and this VLOG, and I can’t wait to continue to follow along.

Ya I am there too scrambling post race cancelation. I ended up jumping into Grindstone 100, which is only a week later. It is a little more technical than Tahoe so I am not really tuned for it, there is also the change of pace I plan in running it vs a 200miler. But I want to use the training I have. We will see how many of this years Tahoe runners get selected for next year or get pushed to 2023. There is also the Western States issue for some, including me (there was no western states lottery this past year since the race was canceled in 2020). I may end up running Moab instead. Keep rolling with the punches and work to enjoy the process.

Hi Sean! How did Grindstone go last weekend? Looked like a hot/humid race. I know that 100 is TOUGH!! I'm going to do a RunVenture this weekend in the Hudson Valley, it'll be about 100 miles with 22,000+ ft climbing. Should be a hoot! :)

@@kimlevinsky Grindstone was a hot one a local weather station had 87 degrees my watch read 93 as a high and 82 as average air temps and it was really humid on top of that. But I kept the hard rate low with a steady effort, I didn't mind the climbing, the technical rocky terrain was more of an issue. Plenty of carnage on the course with folk overheating and puking the DNS list as DNF list were both about 25 to 30%. I finished in a little under 30 hours, I could have gone faster but then increased my chances of getting in trouble with the hot conditions. It was a good experience on a local course (1 hour from my house) and my longest ultra by time. My brother suggested that I practice my Tahoe sleep routine and closer to Tahoe pace and use almost all of the 38 hours for the race. Safe running on your RunVenture.
