    Wow, $9100! Glad to see you guys made a nice chunk on that, and thank you for increasing the value on these as I have two 7L V8 Touaregs with air suspension and rear lockers, in the same color as yours, as well. I get "No way that thing does well off-road" and "no way that thing tows an enclosed race trailer" regularly. At least now I can point to your channel for documenting how they can handle pretty gnarly trails better than I could.

    You’re keeping the Ford F-150 with broken AC, and selling the Touareg that has brought you so many great memories and is just…great. And then the topper that you’re actively looking for the V10 version even though TFL is not a “repair channel” per se, and that V10 will bring you an equivalent number of heartaches and wallet draining circumstances as this 4.2L V8 version has brought you joy.
    This disappoints me.
    I hope you get out of it, something close to the greatness you have in it. At least a few dollars and increased CZcams clicks will help soften the inevitable sting of regret in the years to come. Because as many will tell you, a man/woman who chooses practically over his/her heart, will wander with a wanton heart.

    • @shitloveaduck
      @shitloveaduck Před 3 lety +1

      The Benz is actually one of Kase’s personal vehicles. I really liked that car! I’m 57 and think there’s nothing wrong with putting a few modern touches on some of the older vehicles. I believe there’s a limit, but I though Kase did a great job there and didn’t go too far at all.
      As an example, I have a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed. I am the 3rd owner, the second owner had it a long time. All the documentation is there for the day the car was purchased. The car has just over 80,000 miles on it and is original down to the rims. Tires are BFG TAs currently, but everything else is true to the car. Any parts replaced were with factory parts and generally NOS when available. THIS car is to be left stock! As a survivor it will have its best value and generally you will get back what you put into it.
      I also have a 1967 Mustang 2+2 or fastback. I bought it as the body only. No suspension, nothing. It was on the rotisserie still. All of the bodywork was done and I chose the paint colour as the car was in primer. The shop that did the work were stiffed by the client so they were getting what they could, back. It was complete as far as the original hood, fenders, inner liners etc., dash, no gauges. All metal.
      If you were to look at it now you would say it was a GT with a 302. The original car was a 390 car, but I’m not a fan so I did some “designing”. Under the hood it looks just like a GT car with a Cobra dress up kit on it. In fact the 302 is a mild crate motor, 330 hp, 365 lb ft of torque. Maybe a little more due to the more open exhaust and Edelbrock fuel injection. The car has Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes. It runs on 17” Magnum 500 wheels and a set of 15” Cragar SS as well, depending on how I want to show it. Modern bushings, shocks and factory ride height. There are certain things that have been modernized for daily use and safer driving. I. Took liberties with the power train, it had a 4 speed automatic in it, just limited slip in the back, the interior is done as stock with the full console, the stereo looks vintage but is not, no sub, but high quality speakers and amp to keep thing clear and loud. The car is much quieter than stock as there’s extensive use of sound matting inside. All simple stuff, except tuning the fuel injection mind you,,,,,, hahaha.
      Some you mess with because they will never be true classics and you take liberties with and modernize them to your tastes. Other cars need to be left alone. If it’s your car and you chose to mess with a classic, it’s your choice, but I’d you want your money back, you do all the work yourself (as I generally do with limits), and ho big or go home,,,,,,,,,. It has to be really special to demand the money you will need to get to just cover your costs. A lifetime of owning stock & custom classic trucks teaches you that!! I just started getting into cars in my retirement. 45 trucks & 3 cars so far and counting!!

      It's not ugly. But it does look a bit like a Passat that needs to go on a diet. The 2007 facelift looks lots better. 2006 V10 owner here, btw.

    Slow down...... your talking faster than a used car salesman. When you got inside the vehicle...man you went from zero to sixty in a millisecond. Nice car, but they are very expensive to get worked on and part's are rediculously priced.

    Ugly vehicle? Your nuts. Name something else from 2004 that still looks good?

      I agree. I have an identical one and most people don't believe me when I say it's a 2005. The new VWs design will age like milk. Too angular

    Sorry to hear. Won't have a reason to watch the channel anymore! (Sorry!) A dedicated "Touareg Channel" may be in the future...

    German cars are so freaking good, when they work. Such a shame they break allot, and cost so much to fix
