- Welllll y’all are probably wondering why I didn’t just suck some of the fluid out from the dipstick tube. The fluid was around 3 years old (if it was even actually new) so I decided to just go ahead and change it and plus I also wanted to learn. Hopefully y’all learned something as well or at least enjoyed the video. BEYOND appreciate every single one of you. Hopefully I’ll see you next Monday!😉

I always use fluid pump to suck out tranny fluid outta dipstick hole. Found that from local hardware store, very usefull tool. After that I take pan out to change the filter, no mess at all.
Yea I have one. But doing it that way doesn’t clean the magnet or get 100% of the fluid out of the bottom of the pan and plus I just wanted to see everything. And change the filter because I already bought it😂. Granted the gasket and filter was $16 but still

I have a 1991 Chevy k1500 with a 5.7 automatic… my transmission oil also had some air bubbles on the dip stick ! It’s also because I over filled it ! Hopefully by changing out the oil and putting fresh new oil in there the air bubbles will go away transmission runs and shifts good btw… how did yours turn out buddy ? You still see air bubbles in the dip stick ??
Yea mine is all good. Never had problems again and yes the bubbles are fine. Think it was jsut over full

if you take the pan off again i would suggest a new pan that has a drain plug on it i got one when i did my trucks transmition fluid and filter

Litteraly just did this for the second time to change solenoids, its easier the second time but still not very fun.

Don't do this guys method.
Use 12. Volt liquid pump, hose down the dipstick tube, pump out the 2.5 quarts, then pans empty and easy to remove and light weight, no mess.
Throw a tarp under the truck.
Other way is connect hose to rad cooler outlet and run truck till you see air bubbles, then drop pan.
Don't be this guy, work smarter not harder
