Good day Gerrit and Martie. I believe you are touching on a very topical issue and thank you for doing so. I have struggled with this question myself and totally agree that one should not judge those followers of Yeshua who keep the annual festivals BUT at the same time we should not judge those followers of Yeshua who do not keep the festivals. I have prayed about this and found answers that resonate with my believes.
The festivals are foreshadowing the Messiah. The Messiah (Yeshua) has come and one can reason that we do not have to keep the festivals because the Messiah already came and that our Jewish brethren will continue these annual festivals because they believe the Messiah is still to come.
However, there is one festival that I believe the Holy Spirit kindled in me to keep, and that is the Sukkot, The Feast of Tabernacles, simply because I believe that the returning of Messiah (Yeshua) will be during the (a) feast of Tabernacles. Zechariah 14 elaborates on the importance of this festival for all people, whether Jew or Gentile. I therefore keep this festival because the Messiah must still return.
