  • Every place tells its own story through its books and arts. Paris has a long one, so I unveil this story all my life, and every time I visit, I discover something new. This video is a selection of bookstores I keep close to my heart. If you are new to Paris, it might help you find a place where to buy books in English in Paris and show you some hidden corners. If you are an experienced traveler, it might give you souvenir/gift ideas for your next trip.

    1. Librairie Du Passage, 48 Pass. Jouffroy
    2. Shakespeare and Company, 37 Rue de la Bûcherie
    3. San-Francisco Book Co, 17 Rue Monsieur le Prince
    4. Ofr. Bookshop, 20 Rue Dupetit-Thouars
    5. The Bouquinistes stalls on river banks
    6. Virtually any museum
    Mentioned publications:
    1. The Paris Bookseller by Kerri Maher

My favourite is Mona Lisait bookshop. They have a good selection with low prices. And of course Boulinier. I got a hardcover impressionism book for just 2 euros from there. Sadly Shakespeare&Co doesn't look like a bookshop to me anymore :( More like a Disney world attraction with long lines, an instagram hotspot. And the cafe they opened is too modern compared to the warm interior of bookshop. Anyway thanks for the video.

Wow, thanks for sharing your recommendations, I will check them next time!
Yes, I know what you mean about Shakespeare&Co, but it is for sure the place to find books in English 😅 But I also liked how they curated the selection of books. When I was there it was the Ulysses centenary and they offered books of the lost generation at the entrance, which was a nice touch. Don't know how often they change it though 🤷🏻‍♀️
