I've been driving for 62 years and the 2019 3008 180 PS 1.6 EAT8 was the best, most refined (and more than adequately fast) car I'd ever had. Traded it for a Skoda Enyaq iV 80 Sportline which is even more refined, but I do miss the Peugeot dash / wheel set up. WLTP ranges are fine, but never achieved in the real world, so my philosphy is to go for the longest possible range - if only because it must improve the resale value by suiting the needs of a wider market. When my Skoda reaches 3 years old would consider swapping it for the long range version of this E3008.

I'm on my third Pug 5008 since 2018, no issues. My second was a straigt forward trade old for new. Unfortunately it was t-boned and written off a month ago. We had a few weeks of car hire which gave me an opportunity to try a few alternatives. In the end I bought another 5008, an 8 speed auto this time. Peugeot are making great cars atm. They look great, drive well, and are quite practical. My only issue is the rising prices.
The range on these e3008s is on another level, they'll sell well.

Q: people think suvs are clonky

Love the videos Tim. Lovely car but "promises 435 mile range"? Whilst on paper that is great from October to April you can safely half that for real world. I appreciate the measurement is all we have, carefully regulated and all that but as a regular long trip driver we need a bit more honesty about range than this one method. If e-cars actually went as far as stated then "anxiety" could be managed but they simply don't. I know mpg is not perfect either, but in the last 4 cars I've owned I've managed about 90% of the stated figures no matter what the weather.

    10 thousand pounds!
    £10,000!!!
A £10,000 price difference means the ICE car owner is already better off!
10 grand buys you well over 1400 gallons of diesel)
So... the price difference means the ICE owner effectively has 1400 gal of 'free' fossil fuel - compared to owning the EV model 😂 and 1400 gal at, say, 55mpg average is 77,000 miles! That means the ICE car is cheaper to own/run for around 6 years... at which the EV might start to claw some ground back 🤣

So 435 miles WLTP = charge to 80% capacity of 350 … then real world driving take off one third, leaves say 230 actual, take off 20 for ensuring enough charge to get to a charging station, and you’re left with 210 miles actual useful range - less than half the stated range. Oh wait, that’s summer months, knock another 10% off for winter and it’s 190 miles half of the year. Ah but when you’ve done 3 years driving, battery degradation will knock another 10% off. So now down to 170 miles. Good luck future purchasers!!

In my country Peugeot is one of the main brands and…what a headache! They are unreliable, many electric, software and mechanical issues (I won’t even tell my father’s 308 history…). Naturally the company doesn’t recognize them on most countries and the client has to pay or sell the car. The costumer support is as good as no costumer support. Never again!
About this E3008: as in recent Stellantis’ history, the external and specially the interior design is very confusing, “too much stuff” and buttons with very angular corners. Like the designers opted for “the more the better”. Besides I wouldn’t trust Stellantis electric motors and batteries enough to spend a dime on such cars. Tesla (and I own one) is a “new” company that proved to be MUCH more reliable than any French or Italian car brand. For me it’s between Tesla and German brands.

I usually like Peugeot but soon as you said it was all-electric that turned me off immediately.
Sorry, but I don't do EVs.

I’m sorry but this review is a waste of space. Why do the reviewers seem to get off on the flashing lights and lovely colours. It starts with price, real world range and then usability ending with the cosmetics. At 80k pounds the story stops.

@@TimRodieDrivesStuff such a well balanced response. Why do you think I even bother to look at the reviews? It is because I do not get access to these cars and want to know about them. The point I make is that EV reviewers seem to leave the most important details to last or leave out entirely. Those details are not how pretty it looks or the nice sparkly lights.

You have a point. Surely things like price, handling, functionality, reliability etc are more important than how pretty a car looks.

I don't buy cars from Stellantis. Even their CEO does not belive in EVs. So why should we buy their disbelief. The only company from the west that beliefs in EVs is Tesla, end of story.

I have a huge amount of stories around the (bad) reliability of Stellantis cars, starting that many of those issues aren’t recognized and repaired under warranty. Many issues that in the UK, France and Germany the authorities had to demand the brands to fix those issues, on many others Stellantis make the costumer pay for those engineering defects and the authorities just look to the other way…. (See Adblue pump / valve issue; see diesel common-rail injectors issues; see daylight light defect on one side present on almost all cars -my father’s car already replaced 3 and after that, I turned off the feature completely. I questioned why almost every car has that issue and one side, including Citroën /DS/Peugeot and the company said “it’s normal use”-).
      Stellantis…no thank you.

They are about to get big in EVs with the new Citroen eC3. Ex PSA brands are big in EV, its the American brands that lag behind

Its not just Stellantis, ZEV legislation is a huge headache for almost all legacy manufacturers. Only the Koreans and Chinese have taken it onboard with any degree of enthusiasm.
