Love how Furiosa is so calm when everyone is trying to find a reason to die
The war boys, unlike the imperitors, are part of a death cult. They are all sick with cancer and will die soon anyways, so they don't think the same way about death. They put their faith in Joe.

I absolutely love the depth of this movie.
The way the younger War Boys are all so excited about Morsov sacrificing himself betrays their inexperience, but then you see the cut to the older War Boy, who says nothing but solemnly bows his head and crosses his fingers.

pretty rare a movie comes out where everyone in it is a badass . I like it.
It takes a major badass to survive The Wastelands for as long as everyone did.

@@rodrigotkm8429 The "mother's milk" idea was spot on accurate. Even way before this movie came out I was telling people you could survive a desolate area if you had a pregnant woman or a woman who had a baby. Just make sure she's taken care of and she produces fattening milk. Of course you have to reserve etc.

It just amazed me that after 30 years George Miller can give us another Mad Max movie that stacks right up there with the best of the original movies, and as many would argue.....might even be better than even Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior). I'm not going to even get into that, the point is.....this movie is awesome.
This movie was soooo good! I just finished watching it and normally don't like this much action but due to it being so well filmed and directed it had me feeling a rollercoaster of emotions and just major epic vibes.
You would have been blown away if you watched in big screen..it's mesmerizing..
I saw this at the cinema, didn’t really know what to expect. I’d enjoyed the previous films, but they were all either before my time/I was too young to have seen and appreciated them at the cinema. People talk about movie moments that rocked them (examples like the first star wars or the terminator films etc). This was the first film that did that for me-I was bouncing in my seat and wanting to join the war boys! Deffo an visceral reaction to what I was seeing and experiencing. I just don’t get that from other movies-even those with really good cgi-there’s just something about using real props and real people. That’s why lotr smashes the hobbit movies out the park and why this film kicks ass!

I love Slit. He's one of my favourite characters in the whole film. Not only does he treat the whole thing like a video game (kill stealing, smack talk, griefing, laughing when he barely escapes getting killed, etc) but you almost forget this is someone with terminal lymphoma and yet he's more full of life than most of the characters in the movie. While all the other characters look at the sandstorm with awe and dread he's the only one who's like "Fucking AWESOME! Let's do this shit!"

To be fair, he's akin to the drummers in old timey colonial battle: he relays information with his music. You'll notice his tempo speeds up or slow down to match the chases

And all this was in the first 15 minutes of the film... My senses were overwhelmed. I had to watch the film another 4 or 5 times to sabor it all
I love that we get to see how Nux is compared to the other war-boys. Whilst all the other way boys are more frantic and reveling in the battle; Nux is focused, shouting commands, and being a damn good driver.
One thing I don't see talked about enough is the sound design of this movie. It's honestly incredible, and it sounds so rich. It gives so much more depth to this movie.
The drums and music are so good. The sounds of the cars are fantastic, there are so many little details to make each vehicle so unique.
For example, around 0:48 when they get in front of the truck, it sounds like a monster. Its roaring and growling. Right as it slams into them, it gives off another roar.
For sure. There’s so many layers to the incredibility of this movie that unfortunately some are just destined to be a little overlooked.

2:47 I kind of felt a little bad for that guy, who never figured out what was going on, but dutifully carried out his orders anyway. I mean I know he's one of the "bad guys," but still... he trusted Furiosa enough to put his life at risk for her and then ended up getting killed(?) for it. (Actually, now that I look again, I'm not sure if he actually got killed; just punched in the face and fell off the truck)

If you play it at x0.25, you can see that Furiousa went for the "Glock"??(sorry but I'm not familiar with firearms) and shot him in the head. The execution was kinda swift and kinda imitated "gun-fu" cuz she "punch-shot" the guy :v
@@phantruong8703 I watched it again, and there's no gunshot sound, and he continues hanging on for another second after being hit. It looks like she hit him with the gun, but I don't think she actually shot him. Maybe he still survived?
Seems clear to me at 0.25 that he got shot in the face, but not in the brain. Probably held on for another second or two out of pure instinct. He's no longer there a few seconds later. So long, Ace. We hardly knew ye.

I love the Warriors nature they pulled off with the warboys. You can just imagine their tales of battle are like. Taking down trucks with excavtiors on the back is badass

the boss music never stops
I just now noticed at 0:12 that Slit helped Morsov out by throwing one of his own sticks at the car that Morsov blew up. And then he goes and calls his sacrifice mediocre because he needed help...
What I interpret from it (given that the movie establishes multiple times that Slit is a grade-A cunt) was that Slit was trying to "steal" Morsov's sacrifice by throwing the spear-grenade at the same time. And, then, just to add to the dickishness, he yells "mediocre!!" even though Morsov has done what the Warboys consider to be the noblest thing a man can do.
Slit is such a fanatic that he'll sabotage other's attempt at Valhalla. Effectively he was stealing some of Morsov's kill credit, so Morsov isn't as guaranteed a spot in Valhalla.
He didn't need no help. Slit tried to steal his kill like a bitch. Why the hell would Morsov need help? They were exposed and he was flying at them with bomb-tipped spears in his hands.
I interpreted that as focus fire to ensure the car was brought down. Could also be attempted kill stealing but these guys as crazy as the appear, are actually working together as unit extremely well.
The warboys are illiterate. When Immortan says "mediocre", it's in a sarcastic or disappointing tone, but the warboys are so enthralled with and dedicated to him that they think it's a compliment. Notice how the other warboys echo Slit's cry "mediocre". Nux is the only one who actually learned what it meant when he tripped on the war rig after Immortan sent him back to kill Furiosa.
This is like Mario Kart but in hell...
What i want, is a multimillion dollar budget Mad Max: Fury Road video game, with all the vehicles from the movie and more, with full in-depth customization. I know there was a Mad Max game from 2015, but imagine it with Modern Warfare 2019 or RDR2 levels of graphics and details.... would be D O P E
Having put over 60 hours into that game, let me tell you how it has all that and more. The graphics might not be cutting edge, but the story is good. It has many of the cars and many more originals. It's about 40% a car-combat game and 60% brawling like the Batman Arkham games. The world is colossal. There are frequent storms like in this scene.
I highly recommend it.

Mad max is one of the few films to have achieved outstanding editing. The sequences are just so seamlessly binded together that you don't break away from your consciousness even for a second

After watching all the originals...from Mad Max..to Road Warrior and Thunderdome. It was incredibly well done. Action sequences were spectacular.....but the story dragged at times. Still.....worthwhile and definitely one of the best action movies in a longtime. Very visual and great vehicles and a nasty bad guy.

Those guys also got one of the worst deaths in the movie, they got sucked up by the tornado inside the sandstorm and got burned to death mid air when their vehicle exploded
I like how there's a guy driving an off road hot rod interceptor into a sand storm with blood bag hood ornament transfusion thingy on the front of his car. And for him and the war boys, its not only normal, it's like living a noble 'occupation'.
Every second of this movie was worth watching in theatre. If there might be a double special for the next one at my theatre, i am totally down for it.

It is a rare thing to have a 90 minute long car chase spectacle be so well filmed and diverse in action and shots that you discover new things re-watching it and can watch it over and over. Best action film the last 2 decades for sure.
I also use the buzzard attack scene as a reference setting up and adjusting home theatre sound systems.
Everything is great about this movie. This is how action is made. Watch and learn, action film makers.
