dude fr you read my mind - been working on the clean every single day for months on end to learn it well; just had a major breakthrough with doing the “dip clean” two days ago and it’s setting so many things in place for me
I think I might start all my snatch warm ups with a hip snatch to really get used to using the arms and hitting rock bottom. At the moment my warm ups are either just full power snatches or sloppy wobbly full snatches because I deliberately cut power and try and drop low arbitrarily. Thanks a lot
That’s a good question. I think both are useful but the higher rep ranges (5s) can provide a ton of value for athletes and I don’t think it gets recognized as much as it could
Been doing lots of dip cleans before I learn to clean properly

Big fan of the dip clean, especially for beginners. Another W Post Will.

Once I started dropping under it actually feels awesome to do this movement!

This exercise has improved my DEADLIFT dramatically in the form of sets and reps....3x3....is the best.
Not mentioning Legs and the growth and muscles.

Good drill
I think the pull under is something I've struggled with. Would this help for improving power clean technique as well?
Yeah I think would help with that
Will, do you see any advantage for an athlete, such as football player, to work towards a 1 rep max in snatch or C&J? Or are higher rep ranges ideal?

I like to call these whip cleans. Whip your hips and drop fast to catch the bar
