Zed and Vergil have a shitload in common with one another. I'm genuinely surprised that people are just now starting to realize that Zed and Vergil are very similar. Not 1:1, obv, but still.
White hair, a benevolent thirst for power due to trauma in youth that leads them down malevolent paths with a higher, dreadful entity (Nocturne and Mundus), conflicting beliefs with their brother, who they care about, but cannot sacrifice their beliefs to side with, a magic clone based on his soul, daddy issues, minor teleportation, Zed's Death Mark is just a single-target JCE, Zed can form and launch projectiles made of his own soul, similar to Vergil's Summoned Swords, ability to open portals across spacetime with their magic, etc.
