I don't pay rent, I don't open my mail, haven't washed my clothes in months. I do not take responsibility for anything but my pets, and that's because they'll die if I don't. When it comes to me dying I don't bother as much. I'm eating for the first time today and it's 0130 am. I've been homeless and that made more sense to me than me somehow having an apartment, with things in it, where did it come from?

When Katya said “if you wait until you want to do dishes you’re never going to do it” that is actually really good advice and exactly what I needed to hear. Every single episode since you two have been back in person have been some of the best
I REALLY want to do this bc my roommate is a damn slob! I've fallen on a melted ice cube bc it wasn't thrown in the sink.
She gave me permission to just throw my dishes out
I don't know if this is going to make sense but I wash my dishes when I'm at the apex of "I do NOT want to do this later"-ness.
So I usually wash 'em straight after I finish using them cause I think "oh my god I don't want to wash more than a plate later, I'll do this one right now."
If I do leave dishes to be washed, I know it won't get too bad cause I have a rule against stacking dirty dishes/cups/pans/etc. and when they're laid out like that you can't ignore them for long - peak "GOTTA GET THIS SHIT OUTTA MY SIGHT" hits and the rubber gloves come off. I mean 'on'. Gotta take care of those cuticles.

I have hardcore executive dysfunction and object permanence troubles. And like, task initiation is a REAL fuckin struggle for me, mama. My friend (who has ADHD) said to just get on it the second you remember it and start doing it. Also, my therapist was like "the anxiety building up to the task is always worse than anything. If you just start doing it, the anxiety will go away almost immediately.". That's usually true, unless you get overwhelmed by the task. Then, just take little breaks. Like on for __ minutes, off for a __ minute break, then back on. Helps me, anyhow. 😅🙏💕
