The hay for next year around here going to be bad. With all this heat the clover headed out and didn't put much vegetation on the plants. Fields that I been getting 50 rolls on might make 20. Oh for the cooking I guess me and the wife old fashioned. We cook roast and some kinda stews more than anything. Tonight was stew meat with gravy and rice with cornbread and butter beans. Sunday a deer roast with carrots, potatoes and some spicle peas with leftover cornbread.

You think if you moved the cows every day and shorten the perimeter. Rather then 7 days. It would allow soar energy the time to lengthy the grass. Given the cows what they really need. As well as your land which is taller grass when the reenter. Roll out a round bail before turning them onto the shorten perimeter. That'll promote your forage to strengthen at the roots. Giving you more time on proper pastor for beef cattle. If you can still see the break marks on the eaten forage its not time to turn them loose on it. If you implemented these i promise you wouldn't have to down size. Maybe down size on your 1300lb + cows. And focus on a shorten herd, length wise. Resulting in keeping more less tall cows that will then breed back each year on time. Because the forage will be at the proper length aka proper nutrients in the forage. When you have some of those tall cows you could have 3 shorten leg to the 1 1300lb cow. Meaning youll have more shorten cows breeding back each year. Because you focused on the look of the grass
