  • With so many GPS trackers for cats in the market it can be hard to choose the right one for you. We decided to put them to the test and give you our thoughts on them.

    Want peace of mind when your cat leaves the house? Track them with petTracer!
    petTracer was created with one mission: TO FIND LOST CATS.
    We don't measure steps or sleep patterns; we provide the best solution to find lost cats. 😺
    These are the 3 reasons why cat owners choose petTracer:
    1️⃣ GPS + Radio: Most trackers use only GPS, which doesn't work indoors. Our patented technology includes Radio Search Mode, so you can find your cat even in locked buildings, garages, or sheds.
    2️⃣ Light & Comfortable: Our tracker looks like a regular collar and is designed specifically for cats. All electronics are inbuilt in a lightweight, ergonomic collar that your cat will actually wear.
    3️⃣ Longest Battery Life: Our collars last up to 30 days on a single charge. Most other trackers need daily charging, giving you a very small window to find your cat if they go missing.
    Enhance your pet's safety and enjoy peace of mind with petTracer.

    I see the majority of these comments are attacking the company for comparing their own product against others. If you watch the video, none of the points discussed are subjective. Stuff like the radio frequency element and the fact that the battery lasts 15 times longer than the others are facts. I think that perhaps this video would have been more appropriately named "Why our product is the best on the market." It is not really a review of other trackers as they aren't being graded, it is simply a clever way of marketing their product by listing the strengths it has over the weaknesses of it's competitors.

      Couldn't agree more. Our cat went missing for 7 days. I cried every day. She went missing on the day they mowed at my apt and returned the day they mowed again the next week. She was really hungry and had lost a lot of weight. Half her body weight I think.

It was fully charged but I tried for an hour and couldn't find it. Then my son was in the woods for almost 3 hours but we never found a gps tracker. They're worthless. On the ap it would show me but for no reason it would show that I was backtracking but I wasn't. My son thought I wasn't doing it right ( Dang millennials) but it did the same to him. Our cat lost the collar the first time he went out with it, although we could track it down to under the neighbours car... Before use I tested the release to see how easily it would come off, apparently you should not do this as it blunts the release clip making it easier to come off next time... So to make it harder to come off I dressed the release clip with a needle file to 'sharpen' it. Not too much, just enough to stop it coming apart so easily... This time it took 4 months for our cat to lose the collar (neighbours garden, we could see it pinging away so got it back again ok). I would think every time the clip is undone to put on the charger it blunts slightly, so I will keep monitoring the release mechanism. I prefer the 'elasticated' release type of collar, so I'm thinking of trying to convert to this... Btw, the collar is useful, I see my cat has a favourite place to go and spend time, not happy coz he has to cross a road!

      I am using this one
      You can have one for 19€ from AliExpress it works fine but not super précise and use your own sim card which is much more flexible as you can have super cheap subscription in 4g depending the country
      Here in France I pay 2€ a month for 80go per month in 4g
      a.aliexpress.com/_vMXQqF
      It seems the product shown in this video is much more precise but the question is would you rather pay 350€ a year for a good precision or 30€ a year for a precision of 15 meters
      My answer is clear I prefer the cheaper version and hope my cat can hear me around 15 meters radius which always worked for me
      Another point is that this chinese gps works for a day tops or 2 days if you close and open the gps when you need it

      @sprtwlf9314 Před rokem

      This is why I was confused on their site. So even the GPS tracking only has 500m? Thats what it sounded like and then reading your comment is sounds like thats the case. Why is the GPS not standard and a sim and data can be purchased. The subscription is 125 a year for 500m GPS? How can that be

    • @kinstar
      @kinstar Před rokem

      @@sprtwlf9314 yep, on their website they say if there are other homestations within the area that would also boost the range. I find it weird that they send gps locations via radio from the collar to their home station and then add the location to their server via the internet, seems like it could be a cost saving thing on their end maybe.

    • @petTracer
      @petTracer  Před rokem

      Hi, the GPS is unlimited. The signal is transmitted to the HomeStation via radio which is why this is limited to 500m. This means that if the cat is out of range but comes back into range you will be able to see in retrospect where ha has been. You can also make the HomeStation mobile by connecting it to a power bank and moving closer to the cats natural territory which will give you a new 500m area from that point as well as guide you with the Radio technology if you are getting closer or further away from him.

    • @petTracer
      @petTracer  Před rokem

      Hi, you understood how petTracer works but there are many reasons as to why we opted for this as our technology as opposed to using SMS like most other companies do.
