Factories around the world closing, 30% of American factor workers getting axed and only like 10% of engineers left. Ain't no way Hemi coming back G

Yeah, all those American jobs just got outsourced to Mexico. Where they were making hemis for the last couple of years. It was never an 'American' car. It was a Mexican engine assembled into a car in Canada. A Toyota Tunda & BMW 3 Series are both more American than most doges.

As someone who worked for a company that had a facility in Mexico i can say the Mexican workers dont care. Just slap stuff together. Never stayed at a job long maybe a couple weeks then go across the street to a different company.
We brought a bunch of workers up for training including engineers to train only to have them leave in a couple weeks.

IIRC there was a lot of talk about 25 years ago about the auto industry being reduced strictly to assembly with large portions of the vehicle being produced by others and shipped as modules with the only assembly going on in a final production phase at the "manufacturer" where all the modules are joined together to make one vehicle. Magna International was the forerunner of this.

Wagoneer S is being built there (in Mexico). They will be seeing alot of the top people from all involved parties keeping a very close eye on that launch. The ZF people could also be there at that particular place to see wtf is going on if there are very serious problems with quality, which could also lead to payment disputes as we've already seen Stellantis in court for such things. The Wagoneer S launch, tho is a critical step for Stellantis' new EV platform and for Mexican production as well. It is a completely new technology and also high end, which means there is a whole lot of engineering and software that all has to - a: parts fit and work, b: software isnt a shit show nightmare getting everything to communicate right. If they pull this off smoothly, American workers are effectively put on notice. Its a hell of a big IF tho.

ZF is more of a global transmission builder….most of Stellantis’ transmissions are built in Kokomo Indiana, SRT transmissions are bought from ZF manufactured in South Carolina. Kokomo builds ZF designed transmissions under license from ZF with a unique valve body and software….if Carlos is going to spin anything off to ZF….my bet is the Kokomo transmission plants….thats the rumor anyways

TK, the government agency that protect employees in Mexico leans heavily to their side. If the employees file claims on the non payment issue, the government will stand on Dodge's neck to get that money from them. That will take time and a lot of effort on the employees part and some may not want to do that. Time will tell what happens in this case.

None of this surprises me as possible scenarios that could very well come true, I just retired from KTP in KOKOMO January 1st 2024 as a yard dog in PC and the changes that were occurring before I retired and now are insane and it kinda sounds like some of the Good Ole’ boys are still in office on the union and company side, let’s hope things change for the better but I wouldn’t hold my breath especially with all this electric garbage going around that will just screw everyone before all the manufacturers admit they screwed up and want to go back to gas engines but guess what, too late as by then with the economy tanked and all the job loses it will be too late as the damage will be done. Sorry long winded and maybe boring but I call it as I see it.
