Want to improve your timing in tennis and finally start hitting cleaner shots? What is usually the problem on our “bad” days when the timing goes off? The challenge with timing is that everyone’s ideal stroke timing is different. Depending on how fast, deep, high, or spinny the ball is flying toward you, the amount of time you have to execute your swing will be different.
So in today’s video, let’s uncover the secrets to improving your timing so that you can start hitting some of the cleanest shots of your life…

I would love a video on the perfect contact point for the forehand and whether your dominant eye matters or not.
You bet! Thanks for the suggestion.
Yeah...
It's definitely viewed/ridiculed as "controversial method"
and I say that because I've heard many YT coaches
( 2minute tennis, Intuitive tennis, top tennis training, and even former WTA Meike Babel)
say it's absolutely nonsense with "no evidence" that this translates.
Patrick Mouratoglou appears to be the only one that's teaching it and is convinced it's 100% fact.
According to Mouratoglou, serves are also affected by the dominant eye. Maybe you could test that too?
@@RonnieJamesOsbourne Exactly, that's why it is so interesting as multiple good coaches seem to completely disagree here.
But I also think Intuitive Tennis misunderstood what Mouratoglou is claiming (I've also encountered this misunderstanding in multiple comments on yt).
In his video he explained that you can still hit the ball while using your non-dominant eye which suggests that he thinks Mouratoglou says that you can't even hit the ball when you use your wrong eye, but Mouratoglou is only claiming that it works better if you adjust your technique to the dominant eye.
One of the youtubers who might be on Mouratoglou's side is Karue as he mentioned in one of his videos that he's right eye dominant, which suggests he thinks it has some importance.
Both sides seem plausible to me, so it's interesting to hear other perspectives.

Yes; to what Patrick is claiming regarding that you can still hit the serve
using a non dominant eye toss, and stance, but what Nick from IT is saying that it's nonsense
to the degree that it doesn't even apply becuase your eyes are closed at contact.
Same goes to the internal rotation snap on the serve (a la Pete Sampras)
which Patrick teaches as well, which Nick thinks is nonsense.
(Nick did have a video about this on his channel early on
featuring Sampras, but doesn't teach this and actually doesn't advocate it either)
These questions were asked by a student of his; Shamir,
while they were doing a serve tennis lesson....easy to find.
I'm not saying either is right or wrong....
But it's interesting that YT instructors and Ex pros are calling out,
throwing shade at Patrick's teachings without mentioning his name directly.
Yall have one of the best tennis channels out there. Keep it up!
Glad to see you guys back!!!
Teaching others your material all the time, dopamine hit immediately when I saw a new video was out ❤
this explanation shed light on a lotta stuff. Thanks best one ive found so far on yt kudos
wohooo…. what a clean and clear explanation from your video! plus with some good humour too!! subscribed!!! 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏
your instructions & explanation make a ton of sense. 👍👍
These are some of the best videos on YT
Great lesson and great sense of humor. 😅
love the mindset tip about "interesting" instead of upset
"Get curious, not furious." I don't know where I heard that (or if I made it up!) but I sure need to remind myself of it a lot.
The best coaching.
I love your videos!!!
Thank you so very much learn a lot from here. Most of information I have seen ideas. But never master or full training in it. That why practice training makes perfection. 😅.
This channel is superb👌👌
Great video. Thank you. Will watch tomorrow with my 7yo daughter before the training.
Glad to hear it Alexander!
Yes please! Forehand contact
This is awesome. I have those glasses. Which drills do you recommend I start with
Gonna apply this lesson today!
Carloo!! Fan here. We gotta play tennis some time when I get to PH. And of course some dj tidbits. Cheers!
Hey, Dj Carlo! Let’s gooo haha 🔥
Omini courts in Japan! It takes me about a week to get back my timing on omini. Ball tends to skid low fast or just die (doesn’t jump up high like hard courts or clay). Found some clay courts here in Kobe so much better than omini. Court surface matters too!
Fantastic video and production quality?
I like your drills.
Very interesting.
Thanks
I definitely need to improve my point of contact
You got me Bro, my forehand and backhand became better, but my serve still sucks 😄
I haven't seen a video done on how to hit a forehand slap shot. Can you do one?
A contact point video would be great - and does it change if it’s flat or topspin or slice?
You bet!
@@RacquetFlex I think its important to know the strokes and also their different contact points because that's where half the unforced errors come from when using the wrong contact point on a ball that needs a different contact point. Like hitting the flat forehand on a ball that's too close to the body cramps the swing instead of changing to a different contact point. This is why I mentioned the buggy whip to dig the ball out with soon as you sense you will be late with the swing to the ball.
Love your videos! Where do you film? Seems like in asia?
At 1:12 man oh man…. I spit my coffee laughing so hard lol! Dayday, let’s face it man: that’s exactly how some students sound when they complain hahaha! Love it 😂😂😂😂
Haha 😂 it was all with love
Thank you for the helpful tips!! I didn’t know you live in Japan! I moved to Japan 4 years ago from Italy. What part of Japan are you?
Hey Venus! That’s awesome. We’d been in Kyoto for about 6 months. But are now back in Cali 🏝️
Can you make a video about Yanik Sinner forehand. Thank you Day Day
Where you guys find these courts? Is that one on turf? Must be some fun tennis days.
this is in Japan

Hey guys the link at 9:51 didn't pop up, could you please provide a link?
Masters tips.... make the video of the contact point, please..
I am thinking of purchasing the strobe glasses through your link, but the 15% off doesn't appear to be showing up. Is there a code to be entered?
Thanks for letting me know Stephen. We’re contacting Strobe now - I’ll let you know when the link is updated.
Where are you filming this video? I see bicycles and a sign in mandarin, definitely not in NA. Just curious.
That was the funniest - high pitch voice joke😂😂😂😂
I wanted to use your 15% to buy the glasses but the link from youtube doesn't work.
Can you help me with that?
Man, where do you find these Uniqlo t-shirts?
Where in Japan are you? Are you giving any clinics or private lessons?
Hey Kikikuhio, we were in Kyoto mostly. You can check out more about our coaching here: www.racquetflex.com/coaching. Cheers
Would love that perfect contact point video if you haven't made it already!
where is the ball at 7:40 ?
balls are CGI...
I would say timing is the most important thing, however there is no easy cure to get timing back, to get back timing you need to practice hard, many many hours. It is linked to muscle memory.
Practice... repeating the same shots/returns over and over and over..
Great tips! Where'd you get those black Uniqlo shirts?! (Also, first)!
He probably get it at Uniqlo
@@thebeatsure, but these particular shirts don’t seem to be available at the one here in Montreal for example.
make a video for perfect contct please
Are you in Japan bro?
waaahh, You guys are in Japan?
Yo, you guys are shooting in Japan? What's up with that!
💪💪💪💪🎾🎾🎾🎾
hello
Do you wear kids size? I can’t find the shirts
Great video. Except for the jokes😮
both contact points on the video intro are wrong - one is way late - the other way too far in front. Arm slightly bent at a 45 degree angle is ideal for most players
couple questions - are you guys brothers? also, what are your ratings?
1st
Make the video about ________.
just watched the entire video, and i have no idea what you are trying to say
It's really hard to clearly explain the stuff in an 8 minute video..
first here❤
Clearly MY tennis is like a bad dj switching songs all the time, not for the good reasons
Please no more goofy laughing guys it's annoying af
@racquetflex I disagree, please continue the goofy laughing I love it haha. It makes you guys easily identifiable from other content creators.
@@FelixFelicis968and also making people laugh will help them remember stuff better.. and it makes your videos more fun to watch
Why the irritating background 'music'??
Too much extra words.
Please less jokes
'His spirit animal is Nick Kyrios.' Lol! Great instruction video as always. In the realm of CZcams tennis lessons guys kick ass! Thank you! : )
