It's only 3 but: Biological dad was abusive towards my mom, she took me and we left, he's been in and out of prison ever since(haven't met/seen him since I was 1 1/2 years old). Next dad, my mom had my 2 bro's then there were problems she left and we'd visit her on the weekends but he was also abusive but this time towards me and my bro's threanted if i told anyone he'd hurt us more. School found out when we went to school and my bro developed a bruise that covered a whole half of his face. Now my mom is married to a new guy and she had my little sis. They have had a bunch of problems and have almost gotten a divorce 2-3 times. He hasn't adopted us and I don't like him. Im only allowing it because we want to get out of the US because it isn't really a good place anymore. So I never have/never will TRULY have a dad and tbh I don't want or need one.
Wasn't really paying attention to the lyrics until the part where her son grew up and now, I'm sitting on my bed in the dark, crying into the pillow. I know this video was posted months ago, but thank you so much, I really needed a good cry to get my feelings out. He only puts us through pain and trials so he can strengthen us and make us stronger. If a tree is never rocked by the wind, it's branches will become lazy and weak and more vulnerable; however, if the tree has to deal with wind daily, then the roots will grow deeper and the branches will grow stronger and soon it will become IMMUNE to the wind. Sorry that I’m so late to this conversation, but I listen to this song about 200 times a day. No joke. I put it on repeat after it ends every single time. I can relate to this song so much because of my past and present life. My dad drinks, but he’s still alive, I’m depressed and pray to God every night for help with my sadness a loneliness. I may be only thirteen, but I can still feel sad. I’ve tried to tell my parents that I’m not happy, and they just yell at me. We do have some good times, but not all of them are the best. If anyone feels like I do, then aim here for you. I’m here for Sinon. I’m here my family and friends. I’m here for all of you people on CZcams and in the world that needs someone to help push you through this. Life is a journey no one understands. The least that we can do is work together to solve each other’s life. Depression can be solved with the right people to help you. I can help you. I can actually relate to this song I’m sooo tired of this because my dad and my mom got a divorce when I was six and I’m 12 right now and I’m having a lot of fake friends and broken hearts and I’m soo thankful for my family cause there just supporting me in this case I live with my mom sisters and brothers plus I’m tired of the bulling and online bullying because of my weight and I’m ugly and weird and why are people just sooo cruel in life? The only reason people say that you look ugly and weird is because they are not confident enough in themselves, so they bring down whoever is better than them to make them feel better, and it's not right. Dont you just love when you finally get over the divorce that happened last January, the arguments you had to listen to and the screams of "dont touch me" and "Dont throw shit at me", you found out the secrets of your dad that made you want to hate him but you just cant, and then he calls you 2 days after your birthday to ask when it is so you dont call him for 7 months and your life becomes more happy..But then your grandma is on the phone with him and comes in the room and looks at you while shes saying "You want to say hi to her?" And your mouthing NO and holding back tears but she shoves the phone in your face and makes you say hi so now your depressed all over again after hearing him say "I love you", "I miss you", "I miss your smile" and then you hear him say "She sounds so happy" when she takes the phone back and after she hangs up shes pissed at you for no reason and acts like nothing just happened when she can clearly hear you choking back tears in your voice..? Well guess what..?

I had a couple of friends in art class. We saw each other every Saturday, but then I left for the Sunday art class. I saw my friends again when I was doing a makeup for the Sunday's Art Class. I had so much fun with them for the whole two hours. On the drive back home, I asked my mom if I could switch back to Saturday Art Class. She said no. I begged her, but she still said no. For that next week, I felt as if I would never see them again. I cried every time I thought about them.

I miss my friends so much! I felt as if they were the only real friends I had, and now their gone.
I wish I never made that choice. I haven't seen them for a whole month and a half. I doesn't seem like a lot but the thing is, I don't miss classes. My mom plans things so I don't miss my Art Class. I probably will never see them again. But, I miss them so much that I can remember the school they both go to, how long the drive is from their house to the class, and their full names.

3 years ago this song was just a song i listened to bc i liked it and thought it had a beautiful message. now, 3 years later, i have a constantly drunk, dangerously alcoholic, 'father', who's verbally abusive and has my mum trapped and scared for her children, and has my heart split in 2 bc, although he's always drunk 24/7, half the time he's nice and constantly apologising for everything, but still does nothing about it. ik that good parents shouldnt be like my 'dad' and its not normal for them to be drunk all the time, but the sad amd scary thing is that im realising hes been like this my whole life and im only just realising, and this is completely normal for me now, ive never know anything different.

I came back after 6 years. This was one of my comfort songs as I got through middle school and high school. I'm in college now, close to graduating and having the hardest time of my life.
