    In this episode we go through from start to finish on how to install a STEDI ST4K 42" lightbar on to our 2020 Ford Ranger.
    I am not paid or sponsored by STEDI, and these opinions are my own.

    Everyone who reviews a light should show beam pattern the way you have done. Excellent. 👌

    Hey mate great video and looks awesome!! Just wondering if the light bar sits higher than the rack?
    Just curious if loaded up will the load be sitting on the light or rack??
    Cheers

      Hey mate no the light bar sits flush or just under the rail - so it won’t interfere with a load. The bracket sits on top of the rail which is the highest point.

    Great video GC. With the light bar switch turned on, does the light bar power on when you turn on the high beam? Or do you turn on your high beams and then have to switch on the light bar separately? So, the switch allows you to have your light bar on with the high beams only or without the high beams only? Hope it makes sense. Cheers

      @GetCampingOz  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey mate, the light bar only comes on when the light bar switch is on AND the high beam is on. By law it has to switched together. The wiring kit from STEDI already has this wired. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

    Hi mate, awesome video helped heaps. Just one question how did you get from the fascia panel to the dimmer switch to illuminate the light on the button

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks mate. To illuminate the button I tapped into a wire from the 4wd switch. Think it was the purple wire from memory. Hope that helps 👍🏻

    Hi mate, great video, new subscriber. Quick question, how did you go about removing the auto surround to get to the 4wd selector switch? Having a nightmare, and frankly being a bit light on muscle as I don't want to break anything. Cheers!

    Hey dude, awesome video, one question is how does the light bar come on, is it only via the switch you’ve installed or does it come on when you turn your hibeam on as well?

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 2 lety

      Hey mate. Cheers. The lightbar can only come on when the hi beam is switched on - by law. The switch installed just isolates it so if I just want normal hi beam on without the bar I can. Hope that helps 👍🏻

    Great video. I’m planning to buy this bar. On the same cross bar too. Does it reflect off the dash or bonnet?

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 2 lety

      Thanks mate. I haven’t noticed anything that is distracting. There is a small amount as the light is above you but nothing to worry about. 👍🏻

    Great video! Where did you wire the earth (red wire at the back of the switch) back to? The stedi harness only provides a very short length

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před rokem

      From memory the harness already has the earth run back to the relay? The loom has 3 wires - positive, neg and the switching wire. All I did was pick up the dash light positive from the 4wd control switch - this then made the 4th wire to the back of the switch

    Gday when you plug the wiring harness into the light bar and run the rest of the cable down the side of the vehicle are you running it in the door or window it’s a bit hard to work out when you are watching the video please help 👍

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před rokem

      Hey George, the harness runs down the side of the windscreen then into the firewall underneath the dash. There is a gap on the side of the windscreen that the cable can be pressed into. Hope that helps you. Cheers Adam

    Hi mate, class video 💪🏼 just wondering. I’ve got a 2020 Ford ranger thunder, how did you mount your button as I don’t have a trim in between the two 12V lighter sockets . I wasn’t sure if that was after market or if that came standard with yours.

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 4 měsíci

      The button is mounted in a light force switch holder. About $100 when I bought it.

    Hi, where does the + & - (red/black) cables with the loop at the end plug into?

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Ben, assuming you are taking about the ring terminals - red + is connected to the battery and the black - is connected to the earth point. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

    How do you recommend this light? Do you have any experience with baja designs but I heard about this company and wouldn’t mind getting one of these for my can am to try since I have a 10 inch baja designs onx6 and 2 amber squadron sports, I wanna get the 50 inch onx6 but I wouldn’t mind this if it’s actually worth it from what I’ve been seeing in videos

    • @GetCampingOz

      @@GetCampingOz yeah for me I love baja designs especially the fact that you can swap lenses out for clear of amber and have no drawbacks, for be I’ve seen other light bars out there and baja designs blows them out of the water by a lot, even the 10 inch does a better job of throwing light down the trail

    • @jordandale7189
      @jordandale7189 Před 2 lety

      @@litonica2002 the baja deisgns bars are insane but again you end up paying for it as they would probably be double if not more than the price of the stedi, stedi does offer other styles of light bar they perform better as the st4k and the st3k are the kinda entry level bars from them, have a look at something like the st2k curved bar from stedi, got an insane throw on it

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 4 měsíci

      Good question - unfortunately I don’t know as I’ve never tested the ST bar. Knowing Stedi, I reckon it would still be great

    Is the wiring procedure essentially the same for most vehicles?!

    • @GetCampingOz
      @GetCampingOz  Před 2 lety

      Hey Simon, essentially the same. Its the same wiring loom that's supplied, you'll just need to use a different headlight adaptor (supplied in the kit for generic vehicles H4 globe ect) and the dimmer wire will be different. Its very straight forward.

  • @christianschofield2003

    hey mate, just got the shirt switch and didn’t have a green cable… had a white instead, is it the same as the green??? set my light bar up and it didn’t turn on lol

      there is a few on the market, but i guess it depends on the budget. Baja Designs and KC Lites make wicked lights but are much dearer than Stedi
